New for me this year are achocha (thanks to M. Cholet), a couple of tomato varieties and a 'furry' cucumber (carosello).

I have some heirloom sweet peas and am going to let them stand to ripen for seed next year. That'll be my new for 2015.  :D

Tomatillo.  Also some long, long courgettes from Sicily, because you can never have enough courgettes.   :D

Well this is my first full year so almost everything is new for me.

Must unusual is chicory for next winter in the dark garage, never even tasted it before but it just sounds mad growing something in total darkness.

Make sure you grow more than one tomatillo plant as they aren't self pollinating. They don't have to be different varieties, more than one of the same type will do.

This year I'm going to try and grow Chickpeas, I saw an article and if nothing else they look attractive and maybe the bees will like the flowers.
I’m also going to try Aubergine’s and a heritage tomato both of which have already started to emerge in the spare room – hope I’m not jumping the gun with starting this early.

This year I am trying Celtuce, don't know if anyone else has tried this before?
And I'm attempting a few different Squashes. Tried to grow Turks Turban last year, had plenty of flowers, and plant seemed pretty healthy but none of the fruit set  :(
