Curious as I've just finished off another 125l bag and really should get another one. That's going to take me to just over 700l for this season. If Id have know I would be using that much I think Id have ordered in bulk at the start.

I have just started the second 125l bag. I use it neat to start seeds and for developing brassica (Clubroot). Otherwise I use it revitalise old soil. Potting on I dilute a 50/50 compost soil mix with some nutrients, because there is no nutrients in compost -just enough to get seed growing.
I am working a full allotment just putting food on the table, and I don't show anything.
If you are using 600l a year what have you done with it?

ive used well over 1000 litres,mainly filling buckets for tomatos and peppers.i tried mixing some 50/50 with soil but the weeds that grew were unreal so just went back to straight compost.

It's surprising how much of the stuff you can get through in a year what with sowing, potting-on, filling big tubs - and that's only the veg! There is nothing lost buying by bulk as you can always use it up the next year if stored in the shed.

Everything needs to be started in pots and the greenhouses are all pot this year.  It doesn't take many (10 actually) 12l pots to empty a bag. It all gets dug into the beds at the end of the year but still seems a shocking amount to buy. I wouldn't even attempt to use the garden 'soil' to pad it out without a steriliser.

I've just worked out I've used over 1000 litres this year! I am shocked as I didn't realise it was that much. I have really stepped it up this year growing far more than ever, but still, 1000 litres!!!!

Ordered 6 x 70l multipurpose, 6 x 60l soil conditioner (garden mulch) and 3 bags of JI no 3 for tubs.

2 bags of MPC left but the tomatoes for the greenhouse will quickly use that up

So far I've used 3x60ltr plus 1x 60ltr waiting in the wings,but & it's a big but(no comments please you've never met me ) I've yet to pot any toms or cucumbers in to final pots. I'm on holiday at the moment & expect to get potting on when I get home, I normally buy around15 large grow bags.

300l multi purpose and 3 grow bags about 30 quids worth i have to sow a fair bit in my greenhouse including peas.

I am half way through my second 125L bag!  The bulk of it's been used for my pots of potatoes though!

I'll need a fair bit more when it comed to potting up my plants but I move house in 2 weeks so my poor plants are having to suffer in their small pots

reading through this thread I realise I could have got a much better deal buying 125 litre bales than 60 litre bags of the same product (Verve peat free compost). 60 litres I have been buying at 2 for £10 on offer, but on line the same store is showing a 125 litre bag at £6.00!

Live and learn - next year.
