Any one tried them from seed and what results did you get ?

Ive only split them, so Id be interested in this too

Also, Ive just bought a brand new strain of (houseplant) grass that says on the lable 'propagation prohibited', so of course Id love to know how to grow more

I have quite a few different grasses as my front garden is gravel and scree.  I have grown them from seed and normally they're up and ready fairly quickly.  If you've already got grasses, haven't they seeded themselves around ?  Those that dont seed around I agree that splitting is the quickest way often giving you several new plants.Again it depends if they are in your garden, or somebody elses  !! As Mrs B says, quite a few of mine self-seeded. Lookie around in friends' gardens as mine are all in clubrooty land, I'm afraid.

Seed is not too cheap if bought if I remember well, might get similar price small plants, there is a garden centre here, which does 'sale', manky looking plants at the end of season, 20-90p. Only have to go through the pot contents before taking home...
