OK  it's me own fault for having 10 days off,

went up to check progress of seed bed today - more like weed bed !

I have got 2 beds under debris netting, each about 4m by 1m. Sown with carrots, beet, chard & parsnip. My main problem is grass growing through again. I've identified the carrot & beet rows, but no sign of the chard or snips 

I don't want to pull up snips by mistake (although they may not be through yet), problem is each time I pull up grass a load of soil comes with it.

What's the best way to deal with the grass please? It took me an hour to hand weed 1/8th of the beds, I'm not sure that hoeing (even if I can spot where the seeds are and yes i did plant in relatively straight lines with string, which i will leave in place next time !)

or should I just cut my losses and resow?

Leave it a little while longer would be my advice. Try to ignore the weeds for a bit if you have a suspicion that the parsnips aren't up yet.
You could also plant a few more parsnip seeds in the weeded bit as a benchmark. Once they are up then you can be poretty sure that the first lot must also be up.
If you can't see the first lot at that point then they are probably never going to come up and you can run a hoe over the whole lot.

.....music to me ears - I find ignoring weeds comes very easily   

any one got any other suggestions or tips?
