a few on our lotty have got peas popping ,they were sown a few weeks ago,will they not be killed off in the cold winter ahead

I think peas are hardy (subject to the arctic temps we had last year  ::) )
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

There are only a few varieties that are supposed to be winter hardy, the further North you live, the less likely they are to be a success.

If they are hardy varieties they will survive. Pigeons, slugs and frost will do their worst and the survivors will look very sorry by the end of Winter. At the first hint of Spring they will grow away and give an early crop. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. Often an early sown round seeded variety is just as early, especially if raised in a greenhouse or frame and planted out.
