Hmmmmmm, I was just thinking that a plastic plant pot may not work.
Don't see many pot pots about these days though.

FCG's idea is fairly sound.
Solar panel producing small current at 12v.
Wire it up through a couple of small 12 bulbs.
Insert bulbs into something that will retain heat (brick?) and slowly release it.
You would have to use a filament bulb as these give off mainly heat.
So when lit they heat up the "lump"
Problem is that I suspect that you will not get a great amount of heat.

I have a set of gloves that are "heated" they are for a motorbike so are 12v. Reality is that they keep the cold off they do not heat the hands. They were good however. So somewhere out there is 12v heating wire

Was reading something on the web about heated slippers that operate off of a USB port. USB ports supply 6v I think, so a possibility is to buy some and canabilise

They are around.  You can buy them second hand, even a cracked one will work.   Or one with a chip or two.   Ask around and you might even get one or two free. Your local garden center is a good place to ask.  But make sure you give them a good wash just in case.
