Its at the bottom of my allotment, is well insulated but just needs a supply of heat...

Lots of people use paraffin so you'll need something like this little heater from Two Wests depends on the size of your greenhouse, how warm you need to keep it etc. but don't forget a little ventilation  :)

You may get one for free off your local freecycle or gumtree

If you would be willing to do a £50 spend (ish) and some basic with a little not so basic wiring you can make little heaters from some solar panelling from garden fairy lights.

A quick tip if you want to regulate the temp inside your greenhouse is get a large body of water in there.

A solar array (those garden lights can easily be made to do 12v) hooked up to a few things. It doesn't really work well but at least works a little.  I'm new (like a few weeks) into learning hobby electronics. I'm finally putting something i learnt in school into use! Mainly the stuff i learnt in Product Design (read woodwork & metal work) and Physics (Lets burn our names into the desks with red hot wires chaps). A levels, brilliant times.

I may not have a shed.... but i have the spirit.

My parosene heaters covered my greenhouse in soot last year. We had put some of our heating oil into them and can only think that that was the problem. Trouble is the proper parosene sold at the DIY outlets is about £5 for 2.5l which only lasts about 3 - 4 days burning 24 hours.
Last year we used a gas botte with a small heater attached to the top of it and it worked well.

Many years ago when we could not get paraffin, we would get some protection by puttin a candle on a brick and covering it with a flower pot.
Two or three of those will keep jack frost at bay.  Its a good stand by.
