Title: sedum proprogating
Post by: sclarke624 on May 01, 2012, 21:29
I have rooted a piece of sedum "vodoo" which fell off the mother plant.  It has taken well and rooted quickly but is a single stem.  Can I just pinch out the top will it branch out from somewhere?

Thanks.
Sheila

Best to pinch it out at the level you want it to branch, or you might end up with a spindly plant

I think you may be right.  It is about four inches high, so I am going to go for it.

You could even root the piece you take off and grow another one as well  ;)

Well they are so easy to root yeah I could but I think I would soon be overrun with them, although come to think of it I just started a new job in a nursing home, I could maybe proprogate them and give them to the home to sell.

Sorted.

I divided a huge clump into 3 a couple of years ago with a sharp spade and they are all huge now.
I find they divide really easily this way and I can give plants to friends.
