Melons for greenhouse

same as my tomatoes subject really, im interested in growing melons this summer in my greenhouse, can anyone recommend a good variety for a starter who has never grown anything like it before. On a side note i set up my auto sprinkler system today in my greenhouse to water off the mains at 1800 each day(when its switched on)

A lot of melon varieties are good, like Charentais for a cantaloupe type.
But I do wonder at the time you've set for your auto sprinklers....6pm seems a bit late in the day for moisture. If anything, it would add to possible fungus and pest problems as it wouldn't have time to allow the leaves to dry off. I'd be inclined to set it for 0800 or so. Out in the garden it's highly not recommended to water so late for this same reason. In the greenhouse your problems could quickly multiply.
