same here with the nematodes, I hear they are expensive but maybe worth the expense versus the labour involved and crops lost

And I love that shed colour!

thanks for the replies :)

will let you know about the nematodes. I got some for £9.99 for one use and you are supposed to use them every 6 weeks *gulp* but I think it is worth it as my plot is riddled with slugs. Well I will know tomorrow when I dig up a spud plant as a tester, even though they are no where near ready.!! :D

Lost every single spud last year to slugs on the plot but none at home... strange old world we live in :)

shed colour, well the paint was cheap as chips so I had to get it

Interesting to see how far you've spaced your corn. Over here, we allow only 2" or so (provided soil is well enriched)

well I wasn't really sure as I had read anywhere between 12" and 24" so went for 18. *shrugs* please don't tell me I have done it too far apart, because I will cry

Yours will grow nicely, but if you really like corn, then you can do each row a lot closer so that the roots grow 'sideways'. Try popping in some seeds directly now in the spaces for later cropping. Sprinkle a bit of old manure around as well.

It all looks very organised.
Looks like you will be having a great feast later in the year.
I am glad my over winter onions look like yours - I thought mine were a bit behind but they have grown in the last week. I haven't grown them before so didn't know what to expect.
It is so nice to have people to compare with as my plot of land is on it's own.
Thanks folks.
