vaccinate my chicks,,,, please help

No, home bred chicks cannot be vaccinated for many and various reasons.

I don't know much about chicks but othere here do.

Answer these questions and you get a quicker answer:

1.  Did you hatch them in an incubator or under a broody ?

2.  If in an incubator have you put them into a brooder ?

3.  If under a broody do they have a space of their own with mum away from the other chooks ?

4.  What are you feeding them on ?

Vaccinations come in large doses, usually 1,000 at at time, so although the prices are coming down, it is still not really viable for home breeders.

How old are the chicks?  I have never given mine extras apart from their chick crumb until they are 5 weeks old.  I would worry perhaps that they are getting too much protein at such a young age?

so what do you think i should do, is the crumb ok for now.... there only 2 days old

Like I said, I don't feed them anything but crumb for the first 5 weeks, and the next thing they get is chickweed!
