Title: Red, sore, swollen bottom

Hi there all, am new to these forums so here goes.  We have 4 ex batts but one of them has a very red, sore swollen bottom - can anyone advise me what is causing this?  She is very well in herself..

Hi Lucylou and welcome.

Probably nothing to worry about as a lot of broodys and good layers have bright red bums, one of my hens has and her undercarriage will go back to normal flesh colour then bright red again several times a day

How long have you had the hens and has she always had this problem? Like 8doubles says red bottoms can be normal with some hens  :)
