Agapanthsus
« on: July 06, 2023, 13:20 »
I have two in identical containers, they are both blue although slightly different varieties.  They are always treated the same, ie: into the garage for winter, then out and sitting side-by-side in the sun.
One has about 10/12 buds, whilst the other looks good, but no buds at all,   WHY  ?  Mrs Bouquet

1) Is the non-flowerer root bound, it may need repotting?
2) Have you fed them both the same?

Thanks Mum, I knew you would reply to this  ;)  I have jst checked and there is at least 2 - 3 inches from the plants to pot edge.  But checking that, I have just notice one little bud.   I haven't fed them, what should I use. ?  Mrs B

The plant may be away from the pot edge, but Agapanthus do have huge fleshy roots that can split open some pots  I had one that did that and had to split it and replant  ::)
Any general flower fertiliser will do, I use Miracle-Gro's flower one for my tubs.

Thank, I will give them a feed, and split the non-flowering one in the Autumn.  Mrs B
