My mum has set me the task of getting a new pump for Her pea soup pond    It's 10' x 4' x 18" deep approx.

Any advice or recommendations please. I think She needs a filtration system too, budget no more than £80 - £100 max and what about UV lights ?

She's 82 ! and likes to see her fishes.
He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

you wont get a lot for under 100 rips mate but saying that hozelock do one for around £100 thats just a basic pump and foam filter might do the job but you wont get it gin clear, have a look on e-bay theres loads.
try growing some lillys to give a bit of cover, some folks build a pergola(spell check please) over the pond to shade a bit and stop unwanted guests.also you can get a bundle of barley straw to stop the pea soup, not tried it myself but ive read it helps.
feed the soil not the plants
organicish

i made my filter my self out of large plastic header tanks and a submersible pump, works a treat not gin clear but clear enough,
you will always get green water even with the bestest filter in the world, until all the bacteria in the filter builds up and starts to do its stuff.

Yeah, she don't want it crystal, just at the mo it's so cr@pped up with green water it makes her miserable and the little fountain she has blocks after about a week, perhaps I might just get a plastic central heating header tank, and a biggish pump to create a filter for her.
