I have a bamboo plant in  garden   my chooks always eat the leaves from it is this ok for them to do?

Glad you asked this question as I'm thinking of planting so e bamboo near where the hens free range! Look forward to hearing any answers.

Bamboo leaves and even the young shoots are fine for chickens to eat (some varieties are pretty yummy for humans, too).

Fortunately I am trying to get rid of mine in the garden to make way for raised beds. Before digging the roots up I cut it down to ground level and put all of the canes in the walk in run, (I even cable tied them to the sides so it looked nice  !). They have stripped them bare, I also lobbed the roots in which they have spent days digging through pulling out worms and eating little green shoots. I haven't seen any ill effects!
