We had a little rain this morning but the afternoon and evening were bright and sunny - nothing like the forecast :)

The temperatures here seem to be really zigzaging from freezing, pile all the jumpers and blankets on to wow, it's really hot and lovely outside.
With SURPRISE heavy showers.

Last night it went down to 6C inside the closed up greenhouse (I saw the weather warnings, so shut windows and doors up, just in case they were right for a change!)
Still quite chilly this morning with light cloud and the odd bit of blue. Breeze is getting up so I've shut the door, which is annoying the cat  ::)
They were forecasting frost for the Northern half of the UK it seems a really early end to the growing season :(

Not quite as cold here, but definitely time to close the PT doors at night. Stripped all the leaves off the toms yesterday to get them to ripen quicker, Autumn is definitely here now.

It's lovely - blue sky with sun shining down. Just what we need to ripen the pumpkins and tomatoes.

Another glorious day.   A little more light cloud than yesterday and just a gentle breeze.

Grey, cool and some much needed drizzle. I'll still have to water before the weeks out, but it's saved me for another day!

Patchy cloud, bright spots - little breezier than ideal but not too bad and and the rest of the week is set fair! :)

Gah, COLD.
Last night it went from a bit nippy to waking up BALTIC and making hot water bottles at 12:30 am.
The boiler is in our room and sounds like a pile driver so we can't have it on at night or we don't sleep.

The kids were cosy and warm in their room. They have children sleeping bags, blankets on their bed shelves in case they want them and a duvet. So they were so ridiculously cosy and kicking the covers off.

Me + boiler induced no sleep = dozy zombie murder bear. Like that-> >:(  all day. I also drop, knock over burn, destroy hurt and swear at all the things.

Rant
Every time you doze off RANNNN RAAANNNNNN RAAANNNNNN RAAANNNNNN RAAANNNNNN RAAANNNNNN RAAANNNNNN. RUMBLE RUMBLE

WHOOSH

RAAANNNNNN RAAANNNNNN RAAANNNNNN RAAANNNNNN RAAANNNNNN RAAANNNNNN RAAANNNNNN.

I hate that * thing. Seriously there's a downstairs cupboard and the entire kitchen, why would you risk murder and monoxide poisoning by having it in the bedroom? Also it's far away from the kitchen where most of the hot water will be wanted. So you waste hot water by running it to the opposite end of the entire house. It loses heat in that distance and when you stop there's the entire pipe sitting going cold full of unused water. Also it often forgets what it's doing or gets bored and switches off. usually when you stop watching the tap so you end up with a sink of cold water.

The first half of September has been incredibly dry in South East England having seen 80% less rainfall that we'd normally expect by now.

Yes, I have noticed things dying back early....

That may change next week as areas of low pressure bring wetter and windier spells more widely across the UK

Thank goodness for that, perhaps I should lift the squash and pumpkins, as they've all turned colour already :)

Last couple of days we've been enjoying lovely T shirt weather, I thought they were safely put away until next year!
Tomorrow is due to be sunny and warm. but breezy which may stop me glazing the new greenhouse :(

It was bright and sunny first thing, but quickly turned showery and it's been on an off all day. Yes Mrs B lots of rain in the forecast tomorrow, it's sorely needed - but do we have to have a month's worth in one day?  ::)
