Alium leaf miner
« on: May 24, 2023, 18:14 »
Noticed a week or so ago my onions seemed to be wilting. After reading about alium leaf miner on here it seems my crop is infested as most leaves have a row of little white dots on them. Are my onions and leeks doomed?

Good question. Those little white dots sound ominous.
I had an issue last season with leeks but my onions seem ok despite risk of contamination (so far!)
I managed to harvest some of the leeks and cut out the affected portions.
All depends on how big your onions and leeks are at present.
Will there be enough to make it worthwhile harvesting now??
Keep digging

My leeks are just thicker than a pencil so not much hope there. Onions have been in around 2 months now
