hi got a howard rotavator soin not that hard but finding it realy hard work the only success im getting is to hold it till it digs then  i have to  keep pulling it back let it dig and keep repeating this ,i know im doing wrong  any tips easier using a fork at the moment  :( thanks. allan

          i had the same trouble and realised the blades
           had been turned the wrong way round after my
          mate serviced my machine also iwas told i was
          revving the machine too fast

sounds to me like you are using it on virgin land it might be and idea to stick the fork in first to make it a bit easier :wink:

yes allan tell us more about the ground and the howard,you say you have to pull it back,you must be strong as an horse mate  :wink:

thanks every one soil has not been dug for about a year but soft its a howard major 5 horse power looking into more info on this site i was not using the skid properly has it to be in the ground to stop it running away from me tried with wheels on and of try again tomorrow arms sore lol but thanks for your inpute any more would be great thanks anyway.allan

hey up allan,just a thought but howard never made a model called the major(if they did its a new on on me)and you mention taking the wheels off,you dont remove the wheels of a howard has they are wheel driven,so i think you have a merry tiller wolsley made one called a major.is it one of these on this site ? merry tillers
