Daft question re beans
« on: October 17, 2009, 18:09 »
I have a whole bunch of French beans which dried in the pod on the plant.  Even though they aren't really "drying" type beans, can I still use them in soup?

Well considering I have space for 10 climbing beans, and, well, handfulls of beans... soup it is for the majority.

The beans could be interesting next year as I had green, purple and yellow planed next to each other... reckon I could get some F1 traffic light beans next year?  :tongue2:

Years and years ago my dad grew and then dried beans for my mother to add to soups and casseroles. They were like concrete even after she had soaked them. Several jars full were turned into bean-bags for us kids and our friends.

Months later - mine "grew" and I got a good hiding! My bean-bag had got lodged in the house guttering but I had kept quiet about it.... until the rains came!!

Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.
