where you growing them?? In the ground probably yes unless they are the early varitys, in containers then probably nope as you can take them indorrs (greenhouse) when the frosts come but expect smaller yields.
Punk isn't dead...it's underground where it belongs. If it comes to the surface it's no longer punk...it's Green Day!

If it was me, and I did this last year, i got hold of an old kitchen bin, filled with 6 inch of good compost/soil mix, put 4 spuds in and covered them, as the tats grew I topped up with more mix and kept well watered and put in my greenhouse, i think the way this summer is going and would'nt risk them in the ground as WG says, blight is everywhere this year.

Yep or you can get what they call 2nd crop potatoes from people like Thompson and morgan or Dobies

i am off to pick up a load of tyres tomorrow - for spuds to go in - i have saved some earlies - and they are chitting nicely on my windowsill.

i thought i would stuff paper into the rims of the tyres - for extra insulation and i will use cloches and fleece for protection at the top when frosts begin.

think i'll try a few salad crops in tyres too - thanks to the wilko's 75% off - i've now got plenty of seeds
