Title: Unusual veg

Hi all,

I've grown an interest in growing the slightly unusual for next year was just wondering on peoples experience.....

I've got some tree onion sets, round courgettes and am thinking of investing in some strawberry spinach seeds.

I've also read about potato onions but am struggling to find seeds for these.

Chickpeas? I had a great crop this year.  Taste totally different. Cucamelons ?  :D

Black Spanish radishes are about as unusual as I've got.

I tried tomatilloes this year and they grew quite well and produced a lot of fruit if you like salsa verde.

I don't know if Mooli is unusual but I grew that this year and the crop was brilliant. Grows really fast  :)

Going to try  root chicory and parsley this year

Hamburg parsley is nice, it grows a root like a parsnip but tastes of parsley. I think that might be what Madame Cholet was talking about. Neither I, nor anyone else who tried it, liked strawberry spinach, but you might like it.    :)

yes I think root parsley is the same as hamburg parsley. If we don't like it, it will dissapear in the soup.

I have a few potato onions - they are like shallots but nicer.. PM me and I'll send you 6 or so sets/bulbs. you will get a good few bunches from that and then keep more sets for your own growing each season.

I also have some Gemsquash seed if you want - they are delicious.  See info on them here  ..
