Title: Bramley Apple no blossom!
Post by: thestens on May 19, 2013, 11:24
Have a Bramley planted 3 years ago, in its first year had about 20 aplles on, last year quite a lot of blossom but like a lot of folks no fruit( I put it down to the weather). This year only about 5 flowers. I didn't prune as the stucture of the tree seemed fine. Should I be feeding it or is there another remedy.

Blame it on last year's horrible weather

Quote
Just as
a cool wet spring can prevent flowers from setting fruit, inadequate days of
full sun and periods of cool can stop a tree from manufacturing adequate
carbohydrate to invest in flower bud formation for the following year.
