Hi there,
I am new to this forum and still relativley new to keeping hens.  I have just found out that some of my chickens look to have Scaly leg Mit.  Thanks to Aunt Sally I have seen the treatment for it but I still have a question!

How long do I have to keep putting Petrolium Jelly on their legs for?  You see I have 10 hens running free range and to try and catch them daily is going to be fun!!!!

All advice is welcome !!

I've never had to do it myself but I think a couple of weeks should be OK. 

You can spot them with frontline for it but I think it would be wise to use the vaseline too.

it might be a good idear to do it when they go to bed this way the chickens are more docile and the vasaline etc has all night to smother the mites
