Apple tree - possible problem?
« on: October 04, 2011, 12:20 »
Hi :)
I've bought a Cox's orange pippin on M26 root stock. It has rust coloured spots on about half the leaves. Otherwise, looks ok. What if anything should I do about this?
Thanks
Pete

Very little this year.

But, do make sure you rake up all the tree leaves when they fall and bin them. Do not compost them or you'll propogate the rust which is likely what is on the leaves.

Yes but not as bad....two or three spots per leaf and only half the leaves have it.

It's called Apple Scab.

You can google for the treatment.
