Hi
I have just been given a bay tree and would like to know if there are any special requirments it will need, like, what size pot is best for it, do`se it need feeding and what sort of compost is best for it, i really need help as i dont have a clue.

Knock it out of the pot and check the roots, if they are beginning to spiral around pot it into a pot 2 sizes larger using a john innes potting compost with added grit. It will need feeding as it will be in a pot so use a general slow release fertiliser such as osmocote. Eventually it will need a very large pot, but only pot on when the roots are beginning to spiral.
