aggy n myself ( posh  bit ) went on a fungy foray last weekend with the fife ranger service and mannnnnnnnn it was briliant we had loads of chanterels and yellow legs ( false chanterel ) some really large bay boletus , amethyst deciever and loads of other types some edible but only single specimens of , also found a magnificent stinkhorn for our guide .. he he heeeee :lol:  we were the only ones actually collecting so the other folks gave us enough to fill our basket to overflowing , 3 meals later .. day in between each meal i have to add . will post piccy when i can figure out how to download from my phone :roll: . oh and yes i made a note of where the chanterels are growing  :wink:

You folk are so lucky finding those great mushrooms. I have a few strange ones growing on my front lawn where my huge old acer tree used to stand, but with my luck they're probably very poisonous  :cry:

Check them out Gloria....they may be edible! :) Check out Rogers Mushrooms on-line....it's a great site for identification.

SG and Yorkie, I too agree.  I remember a kind friend giving me a puffball mushroom when I was pregnant and suffering from severe morning sickness.  I got as far as making a lovely mushroom soup and then the nausea hit. :shock: Gross. The offending soup pan was removed to the very bottom of the garden.  Needless to say I haven't had a single mushroom since! :cry:  :cry:
