Plastic Edging for Veggie Beds
« on: April 12, 2008, 16:56 »
I would like to divide my allotment into beds. They don't need to be raised as the soil is good and quite deep. I saw some 6 inch plastic lawn edging in Wilko and wondered if anyone had used this or something similar to edge beds.

I'd think it would be a tad too flimsy with the weight of soil behind it. Better to use some treated wood from some old pallets or similar. :D

Yes, i've done that works fine for justing edging and I can then rearrange the areas once the crop has finished and for the deep beds I've used wood.

If the beds aren't raised, then the plastic works well. I've done it all around my yard with flower and veg gardens. Slows down weed roots from getting in, which is all I ask for

Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
