Scared cockerel
« on: June 16, 2010, 19:04 »
Yokey, our orpington buff cockerel is incredibly scared of us and runs away when we go near him  .
It's strange to see him like it because he is so big and proud .

Have you got a cockerel which is very scared of humans? Or does he boss you around a bit?
All lives are precious.

The partridge silkie cock I got off Hayley is scared of our Black Rocks (they all are!) and comes running to stand with me when I enter the run. Not quite what you asked, but tickles me.

Rocky, my first rescue cockerel is scared of us, but Flash my Exchequer Leghorn cockerel flies at me and caught my hand last week when I tried to move the feeder.  Then Bertie the RIR doesn't like my Brian, Neither does Jeeves the Light Sussex.  But I've been working on Bertie, and now I can hand feed him and he lets me stroke him without him pecking me!  Jeeves tries to have a go, but I wag my finger at him and say 'Don't even think about it!' and he turns and walks away! lol

Oh and Klaus the Silkie is brave until I go in his run, and Beefy my new Indian Game cockerel is a bit scared of me too!   :D :D

Adolf my indian brahma boy is lovely-lets me pick him up, feed him etc. I had to rescue him today in the coop as he'd got his foot trapped in the roosting bars. God knows how but i think he was grateful as he sat on my lap for a while to recover!

I've got a little blue orpington boy chick/grower & he laps up the attention, a very affectionate little chap.

Brahmas have got to be the best cockerels ive ever had so far.
