All I can say is it is not raining. But it is not nice, feels very damp.
-
Foggy and mild again today, went for a family walk in the Mlavern Hills, which were covered in cloud. Nice walk, no view though!
-
Grey and dismal max of 4C, I haven't felt properly warm all day, despite the c/h ::)
-
Today we started with stunning blue skies, which over the course of the afternoon became a little overcast. Certainly not a bad start to the new year!
-
foggy, grey, miserable.
-
Lovely, clear with a good breeze so got laundry out and half dried. Then an hour ago the windows were blown open and the rain clattered down so fast the windows were covered in about 5 seconds. Talk about an instant deluge.
-
Sunny, 10c down to 4 later. Winds NNW blowing a bit.
-
It looks nice and sunny. Trouble is that the sunny is cold.
-
Bright and mild if the rain can hold for another few days I might be able to get some weeding done!
-
It's been mild and grey, but just started clearing - in time to see the sunset
Clear skies mean it'll turn cold tonight though.
-
Cold but clear and for the time of year quite mild. It's getting rather cold now.
We took the kids to the woods for a walk where they made leaf angels. Inspired by me falling over into a leaf drift that was far deeper than expected and the subsequent flap around trying to get out.
-
It's a lovely afternoon just been for a long walk in the sunshine, we were well wrapped up :)
-
Very dull and grey earlier. Then the sun came out, and now the washing is just finishing, the rain is coming down and across the valley it is full of cloud and rain. Horrid.

Same here, it's horrible out there
mrs Bouquet
-
It's calm, cloudy and 6C - that was the minimum overnight as well.
-
patchy sun and blue sky, 8c, but quite blowy SSW, 19/20 mph and gusty.
-
Gloomy skies, windy and rattling down with rain. :(
-
Surprisingly mild, clear but with a bit of wind chill.
-
Clear and cool this morning, raining now though!
-
Bitterly cold this afternoon and now rain i knew it wouldn't last
-
It's horrid. Dark skies, strong winds and wet. Catflap blowing open which cools the kitchen down! One of those days where you wonder why you got out of bed :)
-
It's a fairly calm day here, chilly at 4C but there are some gaps beginning to appear in the cloud.
-
dull damp can't really do anything outdoors could be an afternoon to visit the garden centre for a look round and a cup of tea :D
-
53mph at the minute, very windy all day which made putting manure into bags tricky. Occasional light showers. Feels like 12C. Youngest and I lay on our backs and watched the clouds race past. Said Youngest was in fear of being blown away.
-
10 to 11c feeling like 7 to 8. thick fog and cloud and mizzle.
-
Our wind has done practising for a storm and is now a trainee hurricane from the sound and feel of it.
-
Dull and damp again, and the brief spell of rain timed itself perfectly for when I arrived at the tip to get rid of the Christmas tree
-
We had lovely sunshine this morning turned miserable this afternoon rain fog and cold
-
It is sunny, chilly but still.
-
Apparently yesterday was warm in the lowlands.. not so much up here in the clouds!
Today is dry, calm and cool :)
-
It is all just hanging there. 11-12c light breeze WSW.
-
It's breezy with a bit of rain on the wind now and then, but very mild all night and 'til now @ 11C
-
I am sitting here in sunshine with precipitation at 5%. Ha, in reality it is pouring with rain and has been since last night. So the Met got that wrong ::) Clouds across the valley and a bit blowy. 11c.
-
Bright and still, quite mild too.
-
Blue sky and sunshine a bit nippy out there :)
-
Blue sky and sunshine a bit nippy out there :)
Ditto - and calm too :)
-
Bright and warm morning once the sun came up, turning a bit grey now though. The weather knows I want to visit the plot today...
-
2C, clear and only 9mph. Frost has been lying all day.
-
Went for a walk on the Prom, nice sunshine, but you had to keep moving.
-
You had to keep moving.
Were you moving willingly? It's fearsome windy up here.
-
It's very windy out there tonight - the cat flap keeps blowing open so our moggies are convinced a ghostly intruder is coming in. The burning question is whether I will still have 2 greenhouses in the morning! Nothing I can do tonight.
-
We have the usual grey and damp mucky weather, not much breeze right now and 8C. It's getting boring, I'd love to see a bit of sun, even a glimpse of it seems a rarity lately *sigh*
-
It was lovely and sunny, a balmy 12C so I stripped the beds. Now it's ready to go out and it's pouring. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny but only 6C.
-
Overcast and quite windy. Saturday trip to Town has been cancelled (friend has succumbed to the cold/cough)
I am not bothered, windy weather and hearing-aids are not compatible. :D Aye, what, :D Mrs B
-
Still blowing a gale but at least it's dry and mild at the moment, we must of had rain in the evening as the cat came in soaked ' Levi' :)
-
It's another grey, drizzly day, 9C with wind gusting @ 25mph.
-
It's calm and 6C with some blue patches right now, but the forecast is for the return of rain from lunchtime.
-
Same, cool and calm. Showers predicted this morning and it looks like a proper downpour due at school run time.
-
We have sunshine at the moment :)
-
Very Grey with a hint of Rain in the air (Currently in Bristol not Pontypridd)
-
Damp and very very windy, getting windier.
-
Cold (4C) start, and calm, but pressure falling quite quickly and wind just starting to pick up now...
-
Overcast, 11c but feels a lot chillier. Winds SSW gusting at 53. Heavy rain later.
-
The phrase calm before the storm has come true. All was quite dull, grey and not a lot of wind. Now it's starting to rain and the winds are howling.
-
The wind was a positive hooligan on Saturday with rain added - the local river over topped its banks. It looks as if we are in for a repeat performance today and tomorrow.
-
It's pouring with rain and the wind is howling around, stay indoors and keep safe :)
-
We've survived today - really powerful winds, horizontal rain etc. Happily all still standing although the chickens seemed happy to go to bed early. Hope it's not too awful tomorrow, we've a long drive up the coast road and then the joys of the motorways... :(
-
The glass has just shattered on the door of my big greenhouse and as that's the side facing the wind, I don't suppose there will be much of it left in the morning. * sob*
-
It was wild earlier, lashing rain, freezing cold, blowing Eldest about the place. While it's cold and gusting occasionally it's not as bad.
The glass has just shattered on the door of my big greenhouse and as that's the side facing the wind, I don't suppose there will be much of it left in the morning. * sob*
Oh no, I hope you can get it cleared up safely and the panels easily replaced.
-
The glass has just shattered on the door of my big greenhouse and as that's the side facing the wind, I don't suppose there will be much of it left in the morning. * sob*
Oh no! There's nothing you can do until it calms down. I know the sinking feeling only too well, though.
-
The glass has just shattered on the door of my big greenhouse and as that's the side facing the wind, I don't suppose there will be much of it left in the morning. * sob*
Sorry to hear that. Between you, John and a few others I've sworn off greenhouses for life.
-

Sorry to hear that. Between you, John and a few others I've sworn off greenhouses for life.
Likewise, we're going to get a polytunnel when we have the correct situation. The fun some acquaintances had replacing glass and gathering it up put us right off.
Sunny and most of the wind is over. May get a load out.
-
All is calm this morning, only the door shattered, and ripped off frame, so have to patch it up somehow until I can get a proper job done, more wind forecast for later though...
Strangely the top rollers were snapped in half by the wind, weird
-
Glad to hear the damage wasn't as bad as feared Mum. ;)
Storm Brendan certainly seems to have given the Beeb's weather forecasting site the run-around - as of yesterday, today's forecast was for severe gales and rain here.
As of today, it is for a fresh breeze and rain (90% at 0700, but it was actually bright and dry.)
Still got a yellow wind warning coming into force from noon though! ::)
-
Still got a yellow wind warning coming into force from noon though! ::)
That's what I'm still worried about, the tape didn't want to stick to the glass in the pouring rain :( so the poly sheet is only held on with pegs and string atm and they've forecast gusts of 50mph here this afternoon  I sure hope they've got it wrong!
-
12c feels like 7. Rain has eased, but not stopped. Winds SSW gusting 57. My greenhouse, which was swaying this time last year, is covered and held together with brown parcel tape, it looks like the blitz, but so far so good !!
-
Strong wind, rain, general misery in abundance.
-
Wet and windy. As usual at the moment.
-
It's been a disgusting day rained nearly all day, more to follow :)
-
Nice, bright, windy (20mph) and just above FREEZING. Sunset is at 15:59.
-
Turned out to be a nice afternoon sunshine :D
-
Clear sky, no wind and just a little chilly.
-
As our bedroom is on the corner of the house it was so noisy we moved into the back bedroom last night as it was quieter. Interesting journey to Freshwater this morning, thank goodness the van is diesel and coped with driving through the flooded roads. Must admit, lovely afternoon, but going down the Military Road this evening and looking at how much water is lying on the fields and speaking to a couple of farmers who have crops that should have been planted by now, we are going to suffer later in the year from this.
-
About 12.30, I thought the sun is out, and ran down the hills for the 1pm bus. Walked along the prom, (I never take living at the sea for granted, I consider myself very lucky !). It was very sunny, but so windy and quite cold. Didn't manage as far as normal, as it was play havoc with my Hearers. Cut back, in the sheltered high street. I was really pleased I made the effort. My lips tasted very salty when I got in. :D
-
Worse weather than Brendan at it's peak. Howling winds and lashing with rain. We walked to a club according to wind direction to give Eldest the most shelter from walls and hedges.
-
It's been a rough day here - wind & wet. Greenhouse pane shattered on the sheltered side, worked out that the entire greenhouse frame is leaning due to the wind which is pressuring the glass. Toughened glass is weakest on the edge and sometimes little pressure is needed to make it explode.
Happily I have lots of spare glass and a neighbour who popped down to help me get a replacement pane in.
-
Only a few light showers yesterday, but quite windy in the afternoon again, so greenhouse still not fully repaired - didn't fancy handling the glass while it was windy.
Seems calm this morning 9C.
-
.... so greenhouse still not fully repaired - didn't fancy handling the glass while it was windy.
Very wise! You realise the power of the wind when it gusts against you as you carry 5 by 2 sheet of glass
Still breezy and wet to start the dark, grey day here but set fair for tomorrow apparently.
-
9c feels about 5c due to SW winds. Sun is shining but just had a heavy shower. I think there maybe more to come.
-
Bright and a bit colder than recent days. Looks like we might have a frost this weekend, death to all slugs!
-
A beautiful sunny frosty morning, I love mornings like this hope to go for a walk along the beach today :)
-
Cold 2C, frosty, sunny and calm, a nice change after all the grey, wet and windy we've had all week :)
I'll just need to remember my scarf and gloves when I venture out to get the paper this morning ::)
-
It is all glittery with frost here as well, but there is blue sky and sunshine to compensate for it :)
-
Beautiful sunshine. Very glittery here as well, but melting now. Average temp 5c dropping to 2c winds N, 8mph. A little condensation on some of the windows.
-
The weather says 59% of hail showers most of the afternoon. It's been 6C but feels like 1C so cold, very windy (18mph) and clear.
-
-1.4c in the tunnel last night, ground still frozen when I arrived at the plot this morning.
-
It is 16.40 and it is still light - Yay. A lovely red sky going across in between the wispy light cloud and making them look red as well. :D
-
I woke up early and can honestly say that it is freezing cold and frosty outside brr so went back to bed til the heating kicked in :D
-
It's another beautiful morning frosty and sunny :)
-
The BBC weather thing says it's supposed to be 7, feels like 5. Lovely, clear and sunny. 6mph wind so things are barely moving.
-
Cold at and 3C frosty but the sun is out, not that it is forecast to warm the day up much! Still better than more rain ;)
-
Sunny, 2 - 7c . Winds WNW about 7mph. The frost was definitely not as heavy as yesterday morning.
-
It's bitterly cold out 0 when i came in just done keep fit brr
-
Bright and fresh today. A welcome heavy frost last night.
-
White over again up here but brighter in the afternoons
-
Another beautiful frosty morning :)
-
Not quite frosty, clear with a small amount of clouds. Weather site says it's 9C.
I must get a proper weather station or outdoors thermometer. Not one that was glued on in a "that'll do you" level of accuracy.
-
Cold and frosty -2C with a clear blue sky - looks pretty but I don't like the cold!
-
Another good frost last night. Crisp and cold out this morning, proper winter weather :)
-
I don't like the cold either, but fortunately the living areas in the house face south. Sunny, -1 - 5c Winds NNE
It looks misty down in the Valley, and tomorrow is forecast fog !
-
Relatively warm, 6 to 7ºC calm but drizzle coming from a grey, featureless sky
-
featureless sky
I like that, into the mental filing cabinet that goes :D Mrs B
-
I need to add within 30 minutes of typing the above a thick Harr came up the streams and then over the hill. Engulfing us all in cold and damp.
-
Another cold and frosty morning, colder here than over the hill this morning very unusual as we live by the sea it should be warmer :)
-
We have thick fog, this morning everything is damp and it's 6C.
-
Quite warm at 7ºC but misty, dull and damp. Currently I own as far as the eye can see.. which isn't that far :)
-
Overcast, damp but a little warmer than the last few days.
-
Colder today than I felt all year.! 5c, light fog, damp, you can feel it in the air, not quite drizzle but almost.
Winds NNE. Brrrr
-
A lot warmer this morning but very low cloud at least it's dry :)
-
8c, wind ENE 8 mph.Very dull and I feel cold because I have been outside with a Wall Re-pointer !!
-
We started cold but a beautiful blue sky and sunny - now its damp, cold fog.
Photos show it well!
-
Murky and damp again. Rubbish winter this year.
-
Grey, dull and feels damp. 7c, winds ENE 7mph. Mrs B
-
Another grey afternoon :(
-
The sky is lighter than yesterday but it's still cloudy and damp, 6C. The couple of sunny days we had seem a long while ago, now.
-
Raining again
-
Strong winds, heavy rain and around 7ºC - not the best day for a stroll :)
-
Much warmer at the moment and the suns been out a few times :)
-
grey and a bit misty, 9c but feels like 5, winds SSW 20mph. No strolling for me either, watching tennis on TV fits todays plan.
-
Still raining Rotherham again
-
Went to the plot to get a few jobs done, cue a downpour after just a few minutes. Stopped raining when I pulled up back at home...
-
Cold out there but only a little damp and bits of blue in the sky. Not too bad for January, really.
-
7/8c feels 4, winds sw 14 mph. Brightened up a little now, but hail forecast, followed by heavy rain. !
-
It's been persisting down all night and the path is flooded again ::)
Still, it could be worse - it actually feels quite mild and it's not windy :D
-
COLD. 5C, feels like 0C. Clear with 15mph winds. Chances of snow showers tonight.
Note to self, clean Youngest's cosy boots after the fun allotment wading episode on Saturday. I can't see the colour in places.
-
Clouding up a bit after a bright morning - 7C, feeling like 2C in the breeze (even though it's from the SW.)
-
It's pouring with rain and cold :(
-
Miserable here too, rain, cold.
-
A grey, cold day - but not raining! Honestly, it's not raining.. no, really - it's not. :)
-
Lots of sunshine, 6c but dropping to 3c feels like -1. Wind W, 13mph, but gusting.
-
Very bright, no clouds except to the far south. Slight breeze, 4C, feels like 1C. Very icy in the shade.
-
It's an idle wind that goes through nor round today and it's not a gentle wind either. So it's a day that feels as if the temperature never got about freezing.
-
Clear and cold with one or two heavy showers.
-
We had sunshine this morning and bitterly cold then this afternoon we had a cloud burst with hail in it, the wind is icy cold :(
-
We have a separate room on the back of our house that contains the freezers. washing machine, tumble drier and other 'assorted stuff'. Got trapped in there this lunch time for ten minutes whilst digging through the freezer for some chicken (as requested by himself) as golf ball size hail stones came down. The patio was covered and completely white. Very cold out there as the wind chill cuts in, supposed to get better and then worse so I understand.
-
Not too bad out there this morning, calm and dry - about 5ºC
-
There's some sun peeking through and it's frost-free this morning but feeling very cold in the breeze brr!
-
Sunshine. 5c to 9c winds WSW 12mph. Doesn't feel that warm to me though.
-
We found a layer of frost crystals in the soil a few inches down up at the plot.
15mph wind, cloudy, 4C, feels like 3C. Which doesn't explain why there is ice everywhere. Rain due at 4 so I must get the laundry in before that.
-
We've had a grim sky this morning that's mizzled, drizzled and now is raining everywhere.
-
Nice and bright but cold.
-
Cold, wet and with a strong lazy wind blowing through people.
-
Lovely to see the sunshine all day,yes rather cold but wrap up and keep moving :)
-
Rain showers, feels like 5C and gusty winds (+20mph) so no plot for us :(.
-
Grey and drizzly this morning, but no frost and as the wind has dropped it feels much warmer than the last few days. Still not 'gardening weather' for me, though :(
-
Cannot see across the Downs or down the Valley. Thick cloud and mist and very wet drizzle. 10c, winds WSW 15 mph, but some strong gusts. Just been out but staying in now apart from 2 people coming to quote for garage wall. ::)
-
Light, drifting drizzle - not too blowy but the good news is that it's about 10ºC out there. Grey skies. Oh well, it will be summer soon enough - it's on a Wednesday this year :)
-
It's been horrible all day here rain fog and very gloomy :)
-
Feels like 5C, light clouds, about 10mph northerly winds. Maybe some drizzle.
-
Raining, breezy and dark - but not too cold at around 7ºC.
-
Grey, drizzly and feeling warm at 10C,if only it was dry - I could go play on the allotment ::)
-
It is much the same here. Horrid - Mist and cloud, raining. 10c (doesn't feel warm to me) Winds SW 20 and gusting 35. The rain is blowing across the garden looking like smoke.
-
It started out bright and mild but the dark heavy clouds are rolling in from Malvern just as I'm preparing to walk into town...
-
We've had our walk PLOT, it wasn't that pleasant windy and grey at least the drizzle has stopped
-
Sunny with cloud. (what a contradiction !) 11c, winds W 17.
-
Lovely morning make you feel so much better when the suns out, it's 28 deg in green house :D
-
Same as yesterday, still very mild getting colder this week
-
Bright and mild, actually managed to get to the plot today as well!
-
It was only ok. Did brighten up for a while at about lunchtime. Have been out and done some weeding :)
-
It's blowing a hurricane here.
-
It's blowing a hurricane here.
Hope all is well in the morning!
-
Grey and cool today, but at least I got to the plot for an hour!
-
Grey and cool today, but at least I got to the plot for an hour!
Me too! Sunny with blue sky this morning and dead calm now :D
-
Wild here last night woke Husband and I up. Currently it's gusting 41mph atm, otherwise bright and the clouds are clearing.
-
Blue sky's sunshine but jolly cold in the wind, at least it's dry :)
-
Noisy wind last night kept me awake. Checked the greenhouses this morning and all is well :)
Grey, dry and calmer - about 5ºC
-
Sunny at the moment, but cloud bubbling up for this afternoon. 9c dropping to 2c winds NW 18mph, but I think it is more than that up here on the top.
-
After 60 - 70mph winds yesterday and throughout the night we woke up to a perfectly still day. Some clouds and a little rain shower have now ventured in to spoil it a little, but a welcome bit of sunshine is trying to poke its head above the hills.
-
It was not so cold last night, it's 4C now but still grey and damp - so why does the forecast show 6C and sunny? ::)
-
Blueish skies, hardly a breeze, dry but only 5ºC out there
-
It's been a beautiful sunny day but still rather chilly :)
-
Clear, still and cold. Looks like it'll only last a few more days though, another 'storm with name' is on the way!
-
Weather man on the radio said storm Ciara is due this weekend. So everyone, have your cups, sugar and teabags ready to stay out of it's way.
Today however it is frosty, mild with a high of 8C, slight breeze and sunny.
-
Lovely start - sunny with light blue skies, very calm but chilly out there - maybe a degree above zero. Not looking forward to the weekend when Ciara arrives. Must double check greenhouses today.
-
Lovely blue sky and bright sunshine but brr! it's cold and frosty out there.
-
Same here mumofstig, not a cloud in the sky lovely to see the sun makes one feel better :)
-
Same here as well, lovely sunshine, there was a frost, but it is now melting. I keep checking the Met weather for my area, and there is no mention of the forecast storm.
-
Cold & frosty start and thick fog has descended in the last hour. View from the bedroom window:
-
Cold & frosty start and thick fog has descended in the last hour. View from the bedroom window:
Watch yourself on the roof, that's why we don't have Emu anymore.
-
Stayed sunny all day and reached 10 in the garden by lunchtime, but was a lovely 24C in the big greenhouse, so had lunch and read my book in there for a while 8) Then I did some tidying up in the small greenhouse made more room on the bench for the sweet peas which were germinated indoors because of the meeces ::)
-
Nice but it's already breezy and going to get a lot worse for wind.
-
Cold and frosty, but sunny and calm - another day for pottering in the greenhouse before the winds get up :)
-
Delightfully crisp, cold and frosty this morning!
-
Another beautiful day, it's hard to believe there's another storm coming over the weekend when it's like this
not a cloud in the sky :D
-
Cold, very cold but with enough breeze for a bonfire in the sun.
-
Currently it's a bit gusty, weather report says it's 17mph. The sky is clear, it's due to stay clear and it looks lovely outside. At noon it's due to gust 44mph then go up to 62mph by 1600.
I wonder if I dare to put some damp heavy items of laundry outside.
-
Got a few gusts here but fairly calm, dry and reasonable at 5ºC - not looking forward to the coming storm at all.
-
not looking forward to the coming storm at all.
Me neither :( Not long repaired the greenhouse from the last one *sigh*
Drizzly and calm at the moment ..
-
Watery sunshine and very small breeze. Is it the lull before the storm  Mrs B
-
Lovely and bright here, only a little breeze to ruffle the tree tops. But, the sea is like a mill pond as in completely flat which is never a good sign.
-
Fresh and bright out, a trip to town would have been a delight but for all the people there :)
Looks like we shouldn't be hit too hard by the bad weather, thanks as usual to the Malvern Hills being our windbreak!
-
We've had a lovely sunny day and it's been quite warm out there, it's hard to believe this storm is coming very quiet out there at the moment. We had lots of rain in the night it woke me up :)
-
Wind's getting up a bit now but pretty calm given what it should be. Next door is away and a bit of their fence has become loose so I've bungee corded it up so the bottom doesn't come off.
18:12, it's here and lashing it down and booming around the windows. I'm glad I got the milk in yesterday. Added extra bungee cord to that fence.
-
Everything is as ready as it can be, so fingers crossed. The wind's getting up now and the rain's pouring. Cat's all a bit nervous about going outside.
-
Absolutely nothing to be done about it and once my hearers are out I shan't hear anything anyway. :nowink:
-
It's wet and windy. As per forecast.
-
It's wet and windy. As per forecast.
Same here, so far so good - apart from another wobbly fence panel. Worringly the forecast is for it to get a LOT worse this afternoon
-
Doesn't seem to have been as bad as I feared, so far. Pretty nasty out there but the greenhouses are still up. Noisy though..
-
It's quite bright with high level, but supposed to be a 100% chance of rain. Gusting 41mph.
Pretty wild last night.
-
The temperature is irrelevant because of the wind factor. Blowing SW with gusts up to 65, and it keeps on raining.
-
Currently raining and sleeting at a rate of 53mm per hour, can barely see across the road!
Wind not that bad at the moment - maximum gust 42mph.
-
We have had a proper storm within our storm - thunder, lightening and a few mad hail stones in the lashing rain
Now it it is back to drizzle and windy ... very windy ::) The trees are trashing around and I keep hearing wheely bins up and down the road taking a tumble. Mine are sheltered by our hedge at the front, as is the greenhouse thank goodness. It is pretty silent on the roads as well. I think everyone is hunkered down at home and staying put.
-
... It is pretty silent on the roads as well. I think everyone is hunkered down at home and staying put.
And very sensible too - not a day for driving to the garden centre so I've been told.
-
Very windy but not that much rain. Some silly person (won't say what word I wanted to call him) decided to go wind surfing in Sandown Bay this afternoon, got into trouble and the Coastguard got called out, as if they haven't got enough to do at the moment.
-
Very windy and very wet. I got caught in a vile downpour when I headed into town early
-
... It is pretty silent on the roads as well. I think everyone is hunkered down at home and staying put.
And very sensible too - not a day for driving to the garden centre so I've been told.
When I worked at a garden centre, we had heavy (for the south east) snow one Sunday. It took quite a while to get to work and we scraped enough staff together to open. Our first customers arrived and a man got out of the car, got his wife out and into her wheelchair and pushed her across the snow covered car park to head off towards the outside plant area to look round. Not buying - just looking. Not sure if that is true grit or just grit for brains
-
Got quite windy in the night and it's definitely breezy at the moment but it's not raining and the greenhouses are still standing, so not unhappy.
We've been lucky with this one, makes a change.
-
Wind kept me up all night, so I'm a grump this morning. Calmer this morning, chilly and breezy.
-
Got quite windy in the night and it's definitely breezy at the moment but it's not raining and the greenhouses are still standing, so not unhappy.
We've been lucky with this one, makes a change.
Snap :)
-
Glad the greenhouses are OK John and MoS :) It is cool, breezy and grey here today. Full on February gloomy stuff, but a relief after yesterday :)
-
9c dropping to 4c feels colder. Winds still gusting around 48. Not too much damage, greenhouse ok. Will have to get somebody to come and rewire in the yew tree it has split open. Quite bright, but heavy rain for later.
-
Wet snow here - not sticking though. Temperature has gone from 5 to 1 in the last couple of hours.
Hopefully I can keep the fire going without going outside for more coal.
-
Light breeze, clear skies, 5C and apparently 19mph. But I doubt it. We just had a lovely walk.
-
Dry at the moment but very blustery and it's jolly cold :)
-
The showers haven't had time to keep still and get us properly wet on the blustery wind. However tomorrow looks to be windy again with sleet and snow in the mix. Lovely.
-
I think the weather here today is worse than yesterday, the wind is whipping round the house and making quite a racket. Torrential rain, sleet and hail. The other side of the Island has had thunder and lightening. I've told Paul he's not to come home along the coast road as our van is quite high sided and the wind is coming from the west. (whether he 'obeys' me is another matter.)
-

Who would dare to disobey you!! :)
I'd like to visit the garden centre but the coast road in our high-ish, light-weight car (Meriva) is not something I would like to tackle. My son in law does that route to work and he reckoned it was throwing a diesel Skoda Octavia about.
-
97% chance of sleet in about an hour!
-
The wind has turned gusty again here, this evening. Good job I decided to leave the greenhouse sealed for a few days ;)
-
Supposed to be 97% chance of hailing right now. it is not. Windy-20mph Westerly, no frost, sunny and no clouds overhead. We'll see what the clouds to the south bring. Winds supposed to be gusting in the 40s from 11am-3am. Better get the laundry out, luckily the hurricane force pegs haven't let me down yet.
-
Windy, 2C (feels like -1.6C), frequent blustery showers, some of snow - what's to like?
-
Bright and sunny, but cold with a gusty wind.
-
The sunshine today is being very smug "Eh, what storm, nothing to do with me" !! Down on the front about 1ish it was high tide, and the front is closed off. I was glad to get back in.
-
Mostly blue skies, horrible chilly breeze and we had a brief hail storm as well!
-
It's been a nasty old day here - freezing winds just cut through your coat. Some hail too. But the mountains look beautiful with their white hats on! I came back from the osteopath on the scenic route - should have had my camera with me.
-
Frosty, chilly with a high of 5C but rather still at a max of 7mph.
-
Wet and cool, grey sky and a bit of a breeze.
-
It's horrible out there, not looking forward to taking my 96 yr mum shopping :(
-
Heavy rain, lights on. 6 to 9 c and winds WNW gusting to 45.
-
We've had a couple of dry days but this afternoon the wind and rain are starting to herald the on-coming Dennis. :(
-
Here it's quite bright, but without any actual sun or blue sky. It's also in ' calm before the storm' mode and at 10C it's not cold either...
-
Max of 8C, has started raining. Windy. 23mph South westerly.
-
Dry but rather chilly and very low cloud
-
Here we go again..
Wet and windy, getting very wet and windy.
Surprisingly warm at 9ºC but feels a lot colder in the wind
-
It's grey and a mild 10C here and very breezy, but nothing really nasty expected here 'til about half past ten ..
Good luck everyone and stay safe!
-
Breezy and wet, but nothing approaching the apocalypse just yet!
Severn Trent are providing the entertainment this morning as they're clearing out the drains which have been flooding onto the road after a mere 1cm of rain. I'm hoping they send the bill to the local council who didn't bother sweeping the Autumn leaves last year despite the fact that we live on a traditional tree-lined avenue!
-
Wet, breezy, whatever else happens it's a good day for clean energy generation - electricity from wind power nearly as much as coal, nuclear and gas generation combined at the moment:

Why is France in the top left corner?
Gusting 49mph southerly and raining heavily. Feels like 4C.
I declare a JAMMIES DAY. Seriously as a family we wouldn't be leaving the house until Monday if it wasn't for a birthday party and this bunch eating all the eggs for breakfast.
-
Decided to go for our walk early this morning 8-45 so glad we did it's pouring with rain now, it's very mild 10c
:)

Don't they shut down automatically during gale-force winds?

Don't they shut down automatically during gale-force winds?
I believe they do, but only when the wind speed reaches 55mph - pretty high.
They are also shut down when their power output and the nuclear output (which can't be switched off) exceed the demand - usually at night, and the reason why a lot of effort is going into the development of huge storage batteries. :)
Why is France in the top left corner?
Well spotted: it's a link to another page showing the French National Grid status.
-
Well that wasn't too bad (Dennis the Menace) - some blowing about and 37mm of rain fell here but otherwise, OK. Makes a change for us to be on the better side.
Today is dry and bit blowy, currently 5ºC
-
So far, so good on this part of the South coast. Not as windy as last week nor as much rain. The trellis i did not like has collapsed. Much to my amazement the tatty greenhouse we inherited last year has escaped unscathed
Garage roof has couple of extra leaks but as it's for the chop later in the year it's not the end of the world - the lawn mower has been moved to the conservatory to keep it dry.
-
A warm night @ 12C and still very wet and windy, the chimney closing plate in the Victorian fireplace keeps lifting and then banging down again, so noisy as well ::) Front, footpath is a stream this morning, so no Sunday paper for me..
Another fence post has gone over, but the greenhouse is still standing thus far. Forecast is for the rain, strong winds and gusts to continue all day, finally easing off during the night.
-
Dennis has moved on from us. It was a bit stormy and wet last night, but like everyone else, we had much less of a battering than last week.
It is just grey, wet and a bit breezy now. Not a day to rush to go out, but otherwise OK :)
-
There was a lot less wind and rain than storm Ciara brought us so all is well here.
-
Windy (gusting 55), feels like 1C. But since it's a dry clear day it's out with the laundry.
-
It's not stopped here it's still pouring a disgusting day
-
I live a few miles from Mrs Pea, so the weather here is the same. It has just eased off enough for me to go a put a very strong rubber tie around the tree. I needed two hands to fix it, so held the tree in place with my head. I think my head has gone out of shape - I know it hurts  Mrs B
-
Not as bad as last week here either, plenty of wind and rain and maybe a bit stronger/heavier than usual. No papers until midday though as ferries out of action and Fridays delivery lorries, along with Saturdays and todays are apparently being held on the outskirts of Southampton. The main Co-op depot are recalling theirs according to our local store manager so no fresh produce once it has run out. Will probably take a few days to get back to normal.
-
The wind has finally calmed down here, hope that's it for now ::)
-
Calm and cold here today. We had ton of rain last night, the bottom end of our allotment site is submerged. The river Severn has burst it's banks and we haven't had all the water from Wales arrive yet!
-

You leave our Welsh water alone! :)
Seriously, I hope everyone's plot is OK but most important - keep safe.
-
Despite media headlines, York will remain open for business!
The rain in the Dales has been less than feared, so the river level in York in a day or two won't be as high as it could have been. Yes, the main river Ouse has burst its banks - but it does this a few times each year, and all the emergency plans have been activated.
Squally weather and some thunder briefly earlier this evening.
-
Heavy rain & large gusty winds overnight, the wind had dropped somewhat this morning but the rain stayed until this afternoon when the sun made an appearance, but it will take more than that to dry out the allotments. In 14 years I’ve never seen it like this before. Sometimes there’s standing water on the bottom 2 plots but today it was 4 plots up & very surprising it was in the holes that my plot neighbour has cultivated over the years, he’s not known as the Mole for nothing lol.
-
Another bout of squally wind and rain has just hit here, pelting against the windows and whistling down the chimneys again... wish it would just go away - I'm fed up with it now ::)
-
If I'd typed this 30 minutes ago I'd have said it mild, grey, misty and calm - but I made a cuppa instead ;)
Now the sky is black in the SW (where the storms are coming from) it has started to rain, and the wind is getting up again. ::)
I wonder how much more of this is still to come, I'm getting cabin fever
-
22mph, bright and sunny. bed stripped, first load on.
-
Well I went out to the potting shed thinking it was all but over and suddenly the sky went black and the wind got up before throwing hail at the windows. Very odd how quickly it came and went and came back.
Today is calm, blue grey sky and not too cold at 7ºC
-

All over as quickly as it came - now there's blue sky and sunshine :nowink:
-
Light grey skies and the wind has finally dropped. The main bridges across the Severn have been closed as the water from Wales has made it down river now.
-
Another horriable day wind and rain :)
-
We managed to survive this weekend better than we thought. Today the sun has appeared with a light breeze but it's a jolly cold one! :(
-
Weather specialist just said there's a strong gulf stream which may bring more unsettled weather his coming weekend.
Yesterday and today was windy but sunny, felt and today will feel like a max of 2C.
-
Bright, not exactly sunshine though. 5 to 9 c but feels colder as the wind is still blowing and gusting up to 40.
Have managed to open all the windows for a good blow through, nice.
-
Technically around 8ºC but feels colder in the wind. Fairly dry. Looks like we've got windy conditions for the rest of the week. It's OK in the potting shed and greenhouse though :)
-
The wind has dropped, it's just damp and grey now.
-
Damp and grey with hardly any breeze.
-
2pm the skies opened again, and it has been pouring ever since. Blowing again quite hard.
-
2pm the skies opened again, and it has been pouring ever since. Blowing again quite hard.
Same here Mrs B couldn't get my walk in just a quickie around the block :)
-
Clear with a mild wind, which is good because we're taking the kids out again. To the woods this time.
-
We've got grey skies with occasional showers :( but even more rain is forecasted for later this week.
-
Persisting down with a gusty wind and temp about 6C. Dogs are at my feet pestering to be taken round the marsh which passes for our field. Hey ho, wellies and waterproofs on and a brief visit to see our Shetland pony who shuns a nice dry stable and much prefers lying in the mud sheltered by the hedge
-
Cold, grey, windy and wet - again :(
-
It is cold 5C, due to get colder -3, raining and due to stay raining.
Joys.
Your (looking at everyone) stinking cold has made it up here and I'm far from impressed. Or a box of tissues.
-
Wet, windy and cold again but the good news is that the huge band of rain is moving west and the afternoon should be dry at least. According to my radio water gauge and thermometer we've had 48mm of rain in 24 hours and it's 20.4ºC. Actually about 3ºC but I can believe the rain figure as nearby Capel Curig had 54mm in that period.
-
John,That is a lot of water  Here it is 9 dropping to 4c, feels like 5 to 0c. Wind gusting around 50, heavy rain all day. Again !
-
Wet and gusty. The Severn is still high at the moment and we've got plenty more of John's Welsh water on the way it would seem.
-
Windy with bursts of sideways rain :( Really horrible if you have to go out in it.
-
Heavy rain all day, sigh. ???
-
Heavy rain all day, sigh. ???
Welcome to my world :)
-
Dry with some sunshine :D
-
Hooligan wind - again.
-
Dry so far, but very windy and gusty still. Managed a walk, but not pleasant.
-
The all consuming grey pervades. At least it's warmed up a bit.
-
Dry so far, but very windy and gusty still. Managed a walk, but not pleasant.
Mrs B we had a walk down to the beach this morning it was rather rough and windy down there, it certainly blew the cobwebs away :)
-
Very windy gusting 45s all day. But clear and dry.
It is supposed to feel like 7C or 3C depending on which weather site you look at. They lie, it's more like -7. I want my bed and some hot water bottles. Lots of hot water bottles.
-
Snow, for the first time this winter. Hope my rooted cuttings that I put in yesterday are okay :(.
Oh and just this minute it's started lying. Supposed to stop snowing in the next hour. Feels like -2, gusting 48-50 from WSW across today.
Modify, it's stopped and sunny again. :D
-
Listening to WG, I don't think I have anything much to grumble about. ! 9 - 11 c WSW 40 gusts, oh yes, and it is raining.
-
Listening to WG, I don't think I have anything much to grumble about. ! 9 - 11 c WSW 40 gusts, oh yes, and it is raining.
That's not funny i wonted to go for a long walk this morning :(
-
Strangely dry for a change, but the chilly breezes and the Met. Office are heralding even more rain over the next few days. Does anybody know where I can buy some cheap gopher wood? :( :( :(
-
Well we decided to go out before lunch and got soaked bad mistake as it cleared up this afternoon never mind i've been reading this afternoon.
Goosegirl i've never heard of that wood so i looked it up, what are you making ??
-
It's raining and oh for goodness sake there is the threat of snow overnight/tomorrow.
-
Walked the dog, wind blowing like mad but no rain. Just grey and gloomy.
-
Blowing, raining. Lots of misty cloud in the valley. Snow and sleet forecast on Wednesday !
-

If it rains anymore here and all the dykes flood out onto the lane I'll have to make an ark! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gopher_wood
:(
-
It's absolutely lashing it down here in Rotherham no lotto today again
-
It's snowing.
-
Still blowing a gale more rain forecast later
-
Time.. 8.46am and since 12 last night we had 15.4mm of rain, our daily average here is around 2.8mm.
GOOSEY get that ark built lass and head south!
-
It's 9C, rained all night and still is, but the wind isn't quite as gusty as it was.
-
It just hasn't stopped now for 18 hours. I have cancelled going for my eye test today ! 8 - 10c. WSW gusting 45.
-
Last night's rain seems to be stopping now, just in time for me to go to town.
-
Grey, miserable, and wet! Need I say more? :(
-
Cold and wet, it's lashed it down all day and my shoe leaked >:(
-
Spent the day hiding from the blazing sun under the shade of a palm tree whilst beautiful girls served cocktails... then I woke up :)
Really cutting cold wind with the odd sharp shower. Being honest now, I awoke in the night and a fragment of dream in my mind. I was reading the paper and the headline was 300mph winds this weekend say Met office! Hope that one doesn't come true
-
What a change from yesterday blue sky and sunshine just a bit chilly long may it last :D
-
Bright & Chilly start but the sunshine is warming for the first time this year!
-
Awoke to sunshine, didn't last long ! 3 to 7c feels like -1 to 4c , not too windy.
-
It's not too bad out of the wind but pretty grey and chilly. Possibly some snow late afternoon.. we'll see, no doubt.
-
Quite a nice sunny day with hardly any wind.
-
Complete change around from a few hours ago, a light bit of rain suddenly turned into a hail storm and now it's bucketing down. Another 2 hour window at the plot scuppered!
-
Blue sky and sunshine yippee :D
It makes you feel better just to see the sun
-
It's been piddling down all night, and still is :(
-
After yesterday's glorious sunshine. Washing dried outside, long leisurely walk, potter round the paddy field/garden wake to the sound of rain. It's tipping it down yet again.
-
Actually got blue sky, white fluffy clouds and bright! :) It won't last but it's good whilst it's here.
-
No blue sky, but the sun would come out if the clouds weren't in the way. Rain later. 4 to 7c feels -1 to 3.
winds NW and quite blowy.
-
At least it's been dry all day but rather chilly at 5 degrees
-
The clouds have gone, and the sun is out. Went for a good walk, then tried some gardening, but it was too cold for me.
-
Bright and cold, warm in the sun when the breeze drops.
-
Guess what it's raining, another wet weekend in store :(
-
It's grey, calm and 5C - although so far, it's dry. According to the weather forecast it is already raining, so I'm guessing it'll turn up soon ::)
-
Nasty out there - very windy and quite wet with it. Cold too at around3ºC
-
Odd gusts of windy weather, but mostly cold, grey and wet. Pretty miserable for doing anything outdoors, so plot planning and trying not to look at seed sites again is on the menu here ::)
-
Absolutely pouring down, with strong winds. I am not walking to Garden Club tonight in this lot. :(
-
Absolutely pouring down, with strong winds. I am not walking to Garden Club tonight in this lot. :(
Don't blame you!
Do we really need another storm (Jorge) just in time for the weekend :( If the council starts moaning that plots aren't being cultivated, when they inspect next week - I think they'll get a few choice words, don't you? ::)
-
Wretched out, desperate to get out and do something even if it's just to mow the lawn.
-
Bleating down with a strong wind from the south-west. Our dykes are already full to the brim so God only knows how it will be after this next storm.
-
a cold rain not for going outdoors unless you need to and will March be a better month so far is the weather is concerned ?
-
What a difference a day makes. Yesterday a calm day with blue skies. I actually mowed the lawn. Today normal service resumed with howling gale and driving rain. Absolutely grim. Took comfort in a raid on the fridge. Getting fed up with these storms.
-
Would love to be able to say the sun is shining BUT guess what it's bucketing down and blowing a gale.
-
Cold and dry earlier. Now cold windy and raining.
-
It started to drip and spit as soon as I opened the allotment shed door at 10:05 am to retrieve my walking stick. Good thing it wasn't in my plans to do any gardening - the forecast said cold and rain just not that early.
-
It is really wet, cold and miserable here, I am going to put the CH on now. I would love to be able to mow my grass but, the mower is still away being serviced. The grass doesn't know that and has really started to grow now. But will it ever be dry enough big sigh.
-
Yesterday it continued to deluge, puddles formed in that wet patch. Every garden has one. It was freezing cold as well.
Today it's slight wind, cold and due to rain.
-
Although we had some winds and rain overnight I woke up to see a lovely sunny day and nothing's changed. It's still all blue skies with fluffy white clouds in the distance.
-
Suprisingly bright and breezy, I was expecting a downpour that so far hasn't shown up!
-
Does wet and windy sound familiar to anyone? If you aren't in the wet and windy can I please send you mine?
-
Does wet and windy sound familiar to anyone? If you aren't in the wet and windy can I please send you mine?
Thank you for your generous offer, but I'll respectfully decline.
-
We actually have blue sky and sunshine this morning. I was expecting another grim day, but now I am thinking of heading outside. The plot will be sodden, but I am sure I can find something at home to do.
I feel like I have spent way too much time inside recently and should make the most of it :)
-

Same here, I'm going round to the plots to pick my last cabbage and swede and see if there's anything I can do (I'm at the top of the hill, so it won't actually be sodden up there) fingers crossed - if not I'll sort the greenhouse shelves out so sowing can begin - as it's March!
Pinch punch first day of the month
-
Pinch punch first day of the month
A pinch and a kick for being so quick :tongue2:
Meanwhile, here at the Ranch, it was sunny, but it is clouding over, still too windy. The wind snapped those ties on my tree, struggled to tie it back, but it is so wet, the root in lifting out of the ground
-
It's cold, feels like 3C but not freezing, scarcely a breeze. It was gloriously sunny earlier but it's clouded up and it's supposed to rain imminently. Better but the laundry on the dryer.
-
I don't want to be an alarmist, but I have just been out for an hour or so walking. AND, there is something yellow is the sky, which was making my back feel hot  Could it be this thing called The Sun ? If so, bring it on. Lovely. Mrs B
-
We've also been for a long walk, it's lovely in the sun. The temperature in greenhouse was 30 deg earlier :)
-
I'ts been raining overnight, so puddles everywhere, but atm it's not; it is grey, calm and 6C.
-
Feels like a proper Spring morning! Bright, warming sun, no wind and the birds singing in the trees.
-
Patchy sunshine. 5 - 8c NW - W.
-
A beautiful cold and frosty morning the suns shinning already :D I love mornings like this
-
A beautiful cold and frosty morning the suns shinning already :D
Snap!
-
This morning was overcast but now it's blue skies and sun.
-
Pouring down and cold. ::)
-
I'm really really fed up with this weather it's bucketing RAIN
-
Persisting down here as well - localised flooding is forecast :( the terrace footpath and my back yard are already a couple of inches deep *sigh*
-
No rain so far, just persitent grey murkiness.
-
Was going out, not now. Pouring down and forecast for the day. Blowing quite hard and cold. Oh, bother.
-
Frosty this morning - had to scrape the windshield. Small price to pay for the glorious sunshine yesterday. Not so much today though but it's still dry.
-
Look at it today brilliant sunshine and blue sky :)
-
As soon as I stepped out of bed I knew it had been cold overnight, but there was brilliant sunshine through the gap in the curtains.
Alas, when I opened them, dark black clouds were rolling in from the West again :(
-
Unforecast frost last night, hoping my chilli plants are ok in the polytunnel...
Bright warm sunshine this morning, hopefully I can go and do a spot of weeding this afternoon.
-
Lovely sunshine, although it is cold. Wind is NW ! I have got workmen doing outside work so hurrah.
-
Been lovely so far. Clouds boiling up and it's getting rather cold.
Modify 5 minutes later to add Uggh, hail.
-
I don't know if it's fog or low clouds but we own as far as the eye can see :)
Bit drizzly, little breezes but not freezing at nearly 9ºC
-
It was bright and calm first thing, now it is grey and the breeze has picked up and so it feels colder though still the same at 5C ::)
-
We've had early sunshine but now it's gone a bit grey. At least it's not piddling down so maybe the fields can have a chance to dry out.
-
Cold and damp. I need to go beans prouts and it's just not happening.
-
what a change from yesterday once again, i had a lovely time out in the garden nearly all day yesterday thank goodness i did at least it's all done apart from the lawns need another trim :D
-
Grey and cold. So glad I managed to get outside things done in the sun yesterday.
-
Windy, very windy.
-
We've watched over the last couple of weekends a fence panel 'wobble' and on checking it out during a dry period found the post had rotted. In view of the forecast for tomorrow and the fact the wind has got up this afternoon, decided to take down the panels on either side of the post this evening so in the event of the weather getting bad again at least we will have 'saved' these two panels as we think they could even have taken down a third if it failed.
-
Another lovely morning :)
-
Mild and bright with the odd shower for good measure.
-
Ditto. Brightish, but a few heavy showers so far and windy.
-
Not too bad here today although we just had a heavy shower. But we've some sunshine now :)
-
We never saw any rain today, lawns mowed :)
-
Rained first thing then it cleared :)
Repeat all day ::)
-
Rained first thing then it cleared :)
Repeat all day ::)
Yup - same here ::)
-
Another lovely morning not a cloud in the sky, a bit chilly at the moment :)
-
Bright start but the clouds are rolling in now. We're forecast some very heavy rain this afternoon...
-
Very wet and dark now, feels cold.
-
Bright and sunny this morning, and warm if sheltered by the hedge. Round to the allotments mid morning and I needed gloves and scarf on, because there's no shelter.
By lunchtime it was drizzly, so I gave up and came home. The sky is getting dark already, looks like more rain tonight.
-
t is quite windy, with mist in the valley, not raining but very damp after rain all night. Fog forecast from 1pm onward.
-
…. not raining but very damp after rain all night.
Much the same here, but feeling quite mild, so I've had an hour tidying on the plot :)
-
Grey and a bit windy.
-
Grey and windy good for walking we've just done an hour :D
-
There's a beautiful bright moon out there with whispy white clouds backlighted as they scud past :)
-
Damp and murky but a lot milder :)
-
Damp and murky but a lot milder :)
Same here, it was raining most of the night.
-
Cool, damp, breezy and grey :(
-
Lovely bright & warm sunshine this morning, it's a no coat day today :D
-
Heavy rain in the night, but beautiful sunshine now. 11c and a bit more windy.
-
Cloudy dry and windy, a bit chillier than yesterday :)
-
The overnight rain has just about stopped, very chilly breeze though.
-
A lovely sunny morning and still calm, but a little cooler than yesterday under clear skies. Hopefully it'll warm up soon in the sunshine. Lots still to do the plot ::)
-
Well it was bright until about five minutes ago, now it is raining but it is still brightish. The wind is blowing very hard and whilst the temp is 7c the feel is 3c.
-
Luckily I had just got back from posting my letter before we had a squally hail storm, some of the hail was quite big, and would have hurt as well ::)
-
Ditto me to, I paid the papers and nearly got blown over as well, but the sun is out again now.
-
There's a right cold and lazy wind out there. The sun looks lovely from indoors.
-
Damp start to the day, grey skies, light winds and cold at 6ºC
-
Bright, sunny start, but it's clouding over, even before the washing gets on the line ::)
-
Same as you Mum, bright clear skies first thing, clouded over now though.
-
Well it has been sunny here all day. For the first time this year I did not wear my jacket until I got out of the car. Still pretty windy though.
-
It's been a lovely day sunshine this afternoon at garden Center had a lovely day meet a friend for lunch, i think it does you good to chill out occasionally :D
-
Cold and wet. Yuck.
-
It was wet overnight into this morning and there are still puddles in the road. There are flashes of blue sky but quite a lot of grey cloud. I think the weather is still deciding what to do here ::)
-
It's overcast here with very little wind. My back veg plot is still so sodden I need wader trousers to pull one of our left-over leeks!
-
Another lovely day been out in garden most of the day apart from doing some cooking this morning , hope it stays like it for tomorrow of to Birmingham for the day :)
-
Another beautiful day sunshine and blue sky :)
-
It is a bit grey today but dry. Fairly mild as well.
-
Drizzly, misty rain but mild.
-
Wet start but a bit calmer and warmer - forecast for dry weather ahead :)
-
Wet start but a bit calmer and warmer :)
Same here cold wind this morning, I needed my coat on to visit the plots, but this afternoon has been lovely and mild once the wind dropped :)
-
Beautiful and clear recently if a bit windy, great for getting the laundry almost dry. But a bit cold later on in the day.
-
Grey and cold all day :)
-
Drizzly, misty rain but mild.
We have got that today ::)
-
Drizzly, misty rain but mild.
We have got that today ::)
So have we :)
-
Just grey, lots of wet drizzle. Not cheerful
-
Yesterday's drizzle has upgraded to proper rain.
-
Not looking too bad here, today - and set fair for a bit too! Time to get things going outside :)
-
It's drying weather so the heavy washing is on the line in the sun. It's been the wind chill this week that has spoilt things.
-
Grey and miserable all day
-
Another grey day, wind from the NE with a feels like temp of 3 or 4C, very disappointing after we had the nice start to the week:(
-
Glorious! Simply glorious :)
Blue skies, sunny with fluffy white clouds. Not too cold at around 10ºC either.
-
Grim and overcast first thing, but it's really brightened up now! Just off to drop another batch of seedlings off at the polytunnel :)
-
Grey and cloudy most of the day it did brighten up a bit this afternoon, at least we got our hour walk in :)
-
Not too bad, at all :)
Bright but cloudier than yesterday - very chilly start though.
-
It is very bright, but not blue sky. The wind is fro the east and chilly.
-
Really windy, drove down the Military Road West Wight today and it was certainly two hands on the wheel as the wind coming from the east was blowing us off the road. As I've said before we have a high side van so really feel the effect.
-
Cool and bright again today. Lots of people at the allotment today when I popped over for a quick check. Good spirit amongst the oldies, even had a pop at one old boy who said that we 'would have to shout across plots'. I pointed out that he's so deaf we shout at him already ;)
-
Another beautiful start to the day sunshine cloudy sky and a still a chilly wind not as bad as yesterday :)
-
bright and sunny, but very blustery up here and cold with it.
-
Lots of sun and blue skies but a very cold breeze.
-
Looks nice outside, sunny, blue skies. But the wind chill was -2 earlier. Even the kids wanted to go home early from their walk.
-
I weeded and cleared the bed round our patio where I was protected from a really chilly wind. Moved round to do another area and got blasted by a really cold wind, quickly moved back to the patio and 'pretended' to weed a bit more while P aul was sorting out the fencing we saved from the storm a few weeks ago.
-
Not bad at all here - sunny and warm as hardly any wind :)
-
We had a bit of a chilly breeze, but it was sunny and bright. I enjoyed another couple of hours on the plot and when I got home, OH and the chickens were all out in the garden together enjoying the sun :)
-
Another lovely sunny day. still a chilly breeze :)
-
Lovely day here as well. Chilly breeze, you have either got to keep moving or avoid the shade 💁
-
Bright and warm here today, not had much chance to enjoy it though :(
-
Lovely day sunshine 8) been for lovely long walk Clapham Woods :)
-
Windy but very mild.
The soil in our plot is blowing away and we had to water the plants. Already, this early in the year.
-
Land still needs a lot of drying out but I will have to top up my water feature in the next day or so.
-
Second day in a row of glorious sunshine! Sprog and I have done almost all his school lessons this morning so it's off to the plot to spread compost on the beds :) For exercise.
-
Beautiful day in the south, just done our hours walk :)
-
Noticed on our way to work this morning that farmers are beginning to start ploughing so the land must be drying out. Sunny here but still that chill wind.
-
Another beautiful sunny day yesterday and it's the same again this morning, although forecast says it won't be as warm.
-
Lovely out there so the PC is getting switched off shortly :)
Looks to be going downhill soon :(
-
Another bright and warm day out. School work done, so sprog and I will be making yet another trip to the plot today to finish composting the beds.
-
I thought it was warmer today, another beautiful day make the most of it as it's getting a bit colder and cloudy 'yuk ' :)
-
Cloudy, slight wind and freezing cold, my feet hurt and I have cosy socks on.
-
Bands of heavy grey cloud with blue patches between. Warming up a bit now :)
-
We have a very patchy blue sky, sun coming and going - but a cold NE wind, gusting to 39mph according to a local weather station, so one I really don't want to be outside in.
Luckily the greenhouse is on the leeward side of the hedge this time :)
-
Hail.
-
Light but sometimes cloudy skies with a slight breeze. At least we've had no rain for a week so the land's starting to dry out.
-
Cloudy and a bit cooler today.
-
The winds picked up so it feels freezing out there.. time to
catch up on a box set do some writing :D
-
The wind is really picking up here as well. It's also not very warm even if you're supposedly in the sun. I'm glad we've s pent the time this week to mend all our fences that got damaged earlier in the year during the storms.
-
Grey and a chill in the air. Just back from walking the dog.
-
Grey skies and we've still got that cold NE wind, not nice to be out in it!
Would you believe it? - It's just started snowing!!
-
Bright-ish, but only 3.3C with a 'feels-like' of -2.2C in the breeze coming straight from the North pole!
-
It is really windy here and feels pretty bitter if you are out in it. You can hear it whistling round in the chimney and the trees and bushes are really thrashing about outside.
-

Same here N/S it's blowing a gale
-
Mine seems to be the same as others in the SE. It is a really cold wind. and flashes of sunshine aren't up to much. I did see there was a chance of snow down the east side of Kent   Not sure about a walk yet after sorting the shopping out.
-
It's bitterly cold and raining, no walk today did exercises instead this morning
-
It looks bright and sunny from inside but as soon as you go outside you get blown from one end of the garden to the other! Really cold with it.
-
Same as others very windy and chilly out. We went out for our walk before lunch and I regretted not putting on my warm hat!
-
Yesterday afternoon, as those cold winds blew from the NE, it bought big hail/snow falls. Today the sun is shining temp. 3 to 7c still the bitter NNE winds though.
-
Not as windy or cold today, have just been out and mowed the front lawn. Did stop after a little while to put some thicker, woolly gloves on as my gardening ones are only thin cotton.
-
Cool out again today, had a kickabout with the nipper this morning in the garden, had to wear the winter hat.
A couple of little showers this afternoon.
-
Sunny all day but still a bit nippy, been in the garden a lot today :)
-
Sunny at the moment, but due to be cloudy later. Temp 8 - 9c still with the ENE winds.
-
Grey clouds with showers - cold in the wind.
-
Grey and cold. Not exactly weather for lifting the spirits :(
-
Feels cold at 9 degrees, cloudy but dry. Warm inside now though, fire’s going strong
-
It's cloudy with just a few breaks, no frost this morning and 5C.
Hope it warms up a bit soon, as the c/h has developed a fault. The system pressure had gone into the red, so I've switched it off. Thank goodness for my emergency electric radiators ::) I'll have to keep a pot on the stove for water for hand-washing. This is going to be fun (NOT!)
-
What a difference from yesterday cloudy but warmer :)
-

Oh no :( I hope you can get it fixed without too much trouble.
-
Grey and gloomy. Bit milder than yesterday and the wind has dropped.
-

You can manually repressurise a boiler. There should be two little taps underneath the boiler. If you open them both it will let more water into the heating pipes and create more pressure.

I think the problem is high pressure rather than low? Is there a plumber on the forum??

I think the problem is high pressure rather than low? Is there a plumber on the forum??
Yes, the system is running at increasingly higher pressure :(

D'oh, that's what happens when I reply before I've had my first cuppa of the day :(
-
10-11c, doesn't feel like it ! Overcast with a gentle WNW breeze.
-
Gale force winds all day, so none of my gardening plans happened. It looks lovely outside and out of the wind it's quite warm.
-
Bright but cool. Slight breeze.
-
Ice on the bucket outside.
Mild, sunny and the wind is a slight breeze.
-
It was sunny earlier but clouded over now. Still, a day without rain is a bonus in Wales! :)
-
Bright, but no sun. 10-11c Doesn't feel it. Winds WSW.
-
A funny old day! No sun, no wind and no rain either, but feeling quite chilly - even in the greenhouses :(
-
Started out cool but it's bright and warm out now! Sadly doesn't look like I can get to the plot today.
-
Snowing yesterday!! and 16c tomorrow typical north of Scotland weather I’m afraid
-
Howling winds, hail, snow, freezing rain in North Wales
This post sponsored by No Tourists Please :D
Not too bad really...
-
Started out cool but it's warmed up nicely. 28c in the polytunnel today.
-
A beautiful day wall to wall sunshine we actually sat out for a while this afternoon having a cup of tea BLISS
:)
-
Started out at 6am as beautiful sunshine, then by 7 the sea mist had come in. Had to go 'inland' (well as far as you can on a small Island) and it got brighter. By 11 it was sunshine all round. Swept up the far end of the garden from neighbour's leaves and the driveway from neighbour's beech husks. Seven full dustbins that need to go to the dump now and nowhere to take them.
-
Amazing at 6am here - should have taken a snap but I was headed back to bed. Orange, indirect sunlight as the sun wasn't over the hill to the east. Everything was glowing.
By 8am it was cloudy with odd patches of blue. Windy too :(
Supposed to be improving this afternoon.
-
Blue sky, no clouds. Temp up to 15 for an hour around 3 o'clock. Doesn't feel that warm because the wind is ESE.
-
We've had wall to wall sunshine still a bit chilly in the breeze :)
-
Another nice and warm day although the wind picked up a fair bit in the afternoon.
-
We had a great day yesterday with warm sunshine, but today is a bit grey and wet. It is very mild though.
-
It is a nothing sort of day. up to 14c and SW gentle winds.
-
Sunny blue skies with a nice breeze.
-
Calm, bright and warm - little more cloud than yesterday but not bad at all :)
-
Yesterday was a sunny scorcher and this morning is looking like today is going to be even hotter!
-
Another beautiful day wall to wall sunshine a slight breeze :D
-
It's lovely and hot, which means I've got the hose out for the pots, tubs and greenhouses ::)
-
Today there's no breeze but just a hazy sun showing through the misty clouds.
-
Full on sun here in Hampshire HH
-
Blimmin' hot! Had to queue outside of the supermarket for 45 minutes and I'd forgotten my sun hat...
-
I thought you had a head of hair
It's been beautiful here again :D
-
More of the same here :)
-
We had a bit of rain last night. Not enough to actually soak the cardboard box the kids were playing with (other toys are available and not put away).
-
Another lovely morning :)
I must make the most of today and tomorrow - all set to change to cooler weather over Sunday night, according to the forecast. Monday will be a shock to the system, by the look of it
-
Still grey and damp, rains just stopped. Last night while I was mid power washing there was thunder then an
instant torrential downpour that lasted the rest of the night. Hoping it will dry up later! :D
-
Lovely afternoon after a late start this morning :)
-
Same again blue sky and sunshine :)
-
Breeze changed from due south to almost due north in about half an hour this morning.
Actually doesn't feel that bad at 18C - pretty cloudy now though (not exactly praying for rain yet, but not far off...)
-
Lovely sunny day, back outside after dinner, too nice to sit inside !
-
Bright day again today with a nice little breeze keeping it a bit cooler than yesterday.
-
Real change here today. Yesterday was very sunny and warm and it felt almost thundery in the evening. Today is mainly overcast with the odd patch of blue, it is quite windy and a lot, lot cooler.
-

Snap! Only 8C which feels very cold after the last few days Brrr!
-
Same here where's the sun gone a lot colder
-
Very cold wind. I was wrapped up well when digging on the plot at 7.00 am this morning. Water cool in trough but ground still dry from all that sunshine.
Cheers HH
-
Our cloud blew away quite fast this morning and we now have blue sky and sunshine. It is warmer in the sun, but that wind has a nip to it.
-
It was lovely yesterday but a really chill wind - today is sunny again but happily a bit less of the chill wind.
-
After an overnight frost it's quite sunny with hardly any breeze.
-
Sunny now, still a chilly wind. Sorry, but I need rain !!
-
Sunny now, still a chilly wind. Sorry, but I need rain !!
So do i water butts empty
-
Sunny but frost on back lawn. No rain for days had to turn back on my garden tap so I can water my home veg plants. Rain promised for Friday & Saturday but we will see???
Cheers HH
-
Also need rain here, there was manic laughter on the allotments when a council bod said the soil was still sodden ::)
Down to 2C in the greenhouse last night and feels not much warmer indoors ::) as the c/h is broken :(
-
Also need rain here
Same here about the rain. The soil is breadcrumb dry to a big man's fork depth. There is a difference in the size of my girly border fork and the Husband's.
Hope you get the heating fixed :(.
We've had a warm sunny day so the kids were in the garden all day. The wind's getting up, I've not put another jumper on to help me resist the call of the shop for 1 hour more, I so fancy a biscuit and am refusing to put the oven on until the bread is ready.
-
No blue just a white sky,and slightly misty. max. today 14, winds ESE. have to say it doesn't feel warm, either in or out of the house.
-
A bit cooler but a few drops of rain. We need more to make a difference HH
-
Max 13C but still those NE winds. Rained for a while, but not much. Supposed to be more tonight and tomorrow.
-
Water butts half full which is good news, more rain to come tonight :)
-
Water butts half full which is good news, more rain to come tonight :)
You lucky people!
Cold grey day today after a lovely day yesterday but still no rain to speak of. It spat at me a couple of times but thought better of it.
-
Rain here today I’m pleased to say HH
-
It's been sunny and warm here in the South West but rain today. Good for the potatos :D
-
Chilly wind early doors and the rain had a few runs at it before finally tipping it down.
-
The rain thundered down in the night but paths are dry this morning. Overcast and grey now.
-
Both water butts full, it poured in the night, grey and dull here as well :)
-
Sunny and max 17c, but oh those ENE winds are really quite unpleasant.
-
A low of 8.5C in the greenhouse overnight, 15C outside now, lovely - but only if you are out of the cold NE wind
-
Max 17, but that ENE wind swinging to NE later is just way to cold for me, and my plants. It is gusting and makes me a bit unsteady.
-
Not a cloud in the sky, it's lovely in the sun i've been working on the patio doing my pots. NO rain forecast until the beginning of may that's what computer says today :)
-
Just got back from our walk, blue skies, nice and warm with a gentle breeze.
-
We've got the cold and lazy winds - you know the ones that blow right through you. And a strong and gusty easterly ain't good.
-
It;s been lovely here, I actually took my fleece off and only had a short sleeved t-shirt on . There is a breeze but if you can keep out of it, it is lovely.
-
A bit warmer today and lovey sunshine, but still those NE winds, everything is just drying out.
-
Beautiful day :D
-
8C in the greenhouse overnight, I was lucky to get away with it, 'cos I forgot to bring the toms etc back into the house ::)
13C now and sunny 8)
-
Bright sunshine with a nice breeze.
-
7C overnight in the g/house 18C outside now 8)
-
Another lovely day changed a bit this afternoon went a bit cloudy, temperature dropping tomorrow :)
-
A real nice warm day, perfect for a couple of hours down the plot.
-
Overnight low of 8C in the greenhouse...and only a little bit warmer now, at 10C under grey skies.
The sun is forecast to break through later, so fingers crossed :)
-
It was grey and quite chilly early on, but the sun is out now and it is warming up. I shall shoo it your way :D
-
It's been lovely here but everything is as dry as a bone and no significant rain forecast until Wednesday - if we're lucky.
I'll be putting the sprinkler on at this rate!
-
13c, SE winds changing to ESE. We have an 80% chance of rain on Wednesday, so shall cut grass on Tuesday.
-
It was grey and quite chilly early on, but the sun is out now and it is warming up. I shall shoo it your way :D
Thank you, whatever you did worked, brilliant sunshine now
-
Blue skies and sunshine but not too hot. Just right.
-
Today we own as far as the eye can see..
But it ain't very far!!!
-
Lovely in the sun but a jolly cold breeze :)
-
Started out bright again but it has clouded over this afternoon and we even had a few drops of rain.
-
Rain has arrived early...my water butts are finally filling again
-
We had a little rain in the night but not enough to do any real good. Still, something is better than nothing. Sun & clouds this morning, little cool but no wind either so warm in the sun.
-
I've not posted on this thread for ages because it's been sunny, cold and windy.
Yesterday we had RAIN. Not a proper deluge but my laundry is wet and may we have some more.
-
Last day of sunshine it's been another lovely day :)
-
Sunny but a bit cooler than the weekend. Just starting to cloud over now.
-
I've developed an unhealthy obsession over the past few days for watching the live rain radar showing rain to the north, west, east, and (especially this morning) the south of here.
Not a drop here since 18 April (1mm) to 'add' to the 1.2mm about 5 weeks ago!
Hope tomorrow's forecast of heavy rain turns out to be accurate...
-

Same here, we're obsessive by this point. We got a few hours light rain 2 days ago, but nothing since.
-
Promises of heavy rain last night came to nothing and currently we've a few spots but not enough to register on the rain gauge. Fingers crossed the heavy rain due this afternoon arrives.
-
It's 9C here and we've had 6mm of rain since midnight, still grey low clouds, so may be some more to come.
I don't like it, because it means an indoor day, especially now with all the bad news - but the garden really does need it!
-
We had gentle rain overnight which softened the ground and now it's thundering down. First 'proper' rain in ages.
-
Basking in glorious non-stop rain for hours now!
-
Basking in glorious non-stop rain for hours now!
You lucky, lucky people >:(
-
Slow steady rain here as well. Was raining overnight and doesn’t look like stopping any time soon.
-
We did have some overnight rain, I don't know when it stopped - I overslept  I don't think it was particularly awesome. But it is grey and misty, so who knows. temp just 10c and wind ENE, C.H. is on.
-
Steady rain all day ;)
-
Same here John at least the water butts are full again and veg and fruit has had a good soaking just to cheer you all up rain until the 12th may on and off :)
-
Started to rain here about 11.30am. temp max 12, SSW winds.
-
The rain band has now past - but we only got 5mm which is not enough by far. Still, better than nothing.
Chilly at around 10ºC and breezy which makes it feel colder. Oh well, that's life. :D
-
It's been tipping it down all morning again.
-
Started as the dog and I got back from our walk. Now tipping it down.
-
It's raining here as well, i wonted to go for a long walk as well
-
Yesterday's weather front did manage to stagger far enough north to bestow a rather paltry 2mm - today's has just passed through and squeezed out 4.2mm. Mustn't grumble I suppose... ;)
-
Just got back with the dog before the heavens opened or a short, sharp shower. More showers promised for today.
-
It RAINED! Rain! Fantastic.
-
It's raining some more! happy days.
Now to store loads of it for the blueberry plants that don't like chlorine.
-
It's raining some more! happy days.
Now to store loads of it for the blueberry plants that don't like chlorine.
Chlorine will evaporate off in 24 hours but I think your blueberries might dislike the pH of the water. Welsh Water publishes their pH and quality so you may find more info out online for your area.
We had some rain yesterday and lots more promised for today :) 5.30am it must have been drizzling - a very wet cat came and cuddled me in the hope of an early breakfast. >:(
-
Rain overnight, and more forecast for now and later this pm. The wind is unpleasant WSW. Have taken 2 newly planted tall plant stands back into greenhouse. I think the wind will rip the newbies out.
-
Rained all day yesterday and some heavy showers today. Can't see England at all from here, presume it's still there! :D
-
Rain on and off today, we got caught in a hailstorm on our walk earlier. The sprog thought it was hilarious, right up until a good size bit of hail went down the back of his neck :nowink:
-
Serious rain here in north Hampshire. Promised a cool but sunny day tomorrow.
Looks like an opportunity to put out my Calabrese.
-
It's wet and cold :)
-
Frequent heavy showers. 14c max. WSW veering W. Mrs B
-
Rather cloudy with a few spots of rain but no wind whatsoever which is unusual for here.
-
It was wet first thing and quite cool, then the sun came out and it was lovely and warm.
Just heard a rumble of thunder, so quickly collected my book and empty cup and dashed back inside as the sky opened.
It's all happening today :D
-
Beautiful sunny morning, really warm in the sun and then at 1pm heavy showers followed by hail. You could see how warm it was this morning by the steam coming off the tarmac (during the shower). Unfortunately the rain followed us all the way from one side of the Island to our house on the other.
-
Brief shower this morning (0.6mm! ::)) - nothing since.
Looks like it settles down again after today - have pretty much missed the boat this week (never mind the ark!)
-
Sunny, blue sky with a few fluffy clouds. 14C, winds SW then WSW.
-
Same here Mrs B quite nice out the wind :)
-
Bright and slightly cool, but not unpleasant.
-
Yesterday it rained a bit, last night it rained a bit and the wind was having a wee howl around the house. Right now it's nice and bright, but earlier it was lovely enjoying watching the rain.
My new in during the winter rhubarb has about tripled in size since the first shower.
-
It is a bit grey and murky here and there was a bit of a nip in the air first thing.
-
After all my covering stuff with fleece, because the MetO gave a frost warning the overnight low was 8C ::)
Sky is a bit overcast, and it 13C - hopefully it'll brighten up a tad later :)
-
Yesterday morning through to afternoon was lovely and clear. Rain for a few hours in the evening and it got chilly. Right now, it's bright and sunny with a breeze.
-
Cloudy and dead calm, down to 9C in the g/house overnight, 12C outside now.
-
Been a bit cold overnight, had a bit of sun and now it's clouded over.
-
Started out really cloudy and foggy, again couldn't see the North Island! (Also known as the Big Island, aka England). About mid morning cleared but the wind picked up and got really breezy. I spend my mornings west Wight and then come home to east Wight and really notice the difference between the two. There's only about 20 miles between the two but the weather difference is noticable.
-
Sunny, warm, good breeze. Great drying.
-
Lovely and sunny 15C but still a bit cool if you aren't in the sun.
It went down to 5C in the greenhouse overnight, but luckily I'd decided to take all the tender stuff back inside - but those potted on plants are getting heavier by the day, I reckon ::)
-
After a cold night the sun is now out shining everywhere.
-
16c, ESE winds though. Blue sky, no clouds. But I agree with Mum, lifting those pots in and out, yes heavy.
-
Blue skies, nice and warm in the sun.
-
Not a cloud in the sky, lovely sunshine of to the beach for our walk :D
-
the sky is white, possible high cloud ? 16c and still those winds with an easterly chill.
-
Blue skies again, pleasantly warm and barely a breeze.
-
Same here p1p, we've just had a lovely walk across the fields :)
-
Not a cloud in the sky another beautiful day :)
-
Started warm, now pretty hot. Starting to cloud over, so a warm night too I guess.
-
6C in the greenhouse overnight, 24C earlier this afternoon, starting to cool down now though.
-
I#m not leaving what we put outside each day overnight yet. Can't trust the temperatures. We are usually passed the frost problem here but this year anything could happen.
-
14C here now, overnight low of 10C, which just happens to be tomorrow's forecast maximum temperature - crazy days as my collection of tomato plants, beans and various cucurbits steadily outgrow their pots! ::)
-
Another beautiful day :D
-
8C overnight in the greenhouse and 22C outside now 8)
Lovely :) - but next week's forecast is a bit worrying …….
-
My poor plants don't know if they're coming or going !! max today is 21c but still those ESE winds.
-
Cloudy, cooler and getting windy later but still no rain.
-
Hail!
-
Hail!
Caesar!
:)
-
A bit more cloudy, a fair amount cooler and a lot breezier. No hail ceasars or any other kind of precipitation descending from on high :)
-
Left the windows open last night because it was hot. Woke up and had to close them because it's cold!
-
Hail!
Caesar!
:)
Lol.
Snow now. My beans, my plants up at the allotment.
-
Down to 7C overnight in the greenhouse.
This morning it's 15C outside, grey and the wind is beginning to pick up, as forecast :(
-
As forecast, temperature decreasing rather than increasing since dawn (was 11C, now 7C, with a 'feels like' of 2.7C in the northerly breeze.)
Trying to rain on occasion, but customary lack of success here.
-
Much cooler here and trying to rain. The wind is also picking up.
-
It's spitting, nothing much still quite warm :)
-
The temp doesn;t count today, because it is blowing NE so hard, with really quite high gusts. Spitting with rain on and off. Glad I went for my walk early.
-
Strange afternoon, the temperature dropped 5 degrees in a matter of a few hours. Clouds and sunshine today, about 8ºC but windy.. still no rain
-
sunny with some cloud, max 13c. The NE wind is playing havoc though.
-
Breezy with blue skies and bits of white cloud.
-
Bright, cool and very windy at times.
-
Bitterly cold here today it's like winter all over again, now the suns come out :)
-
Cold and windy today forecast says 1 degree at 4 am tomorrow!!!
Somewhat chilly HH
-
Sun shining but really cold when walking the dog. Central heating has just come on, thermostat set to 16 so colder than I thought
-
Down to 1.5C in the greenhouse overnight, 15C in there now, 10C outside.
I've got the little radiator plugged in next to me right now, house does feel a tad chilly ::)
-
Very grey day and down to 8ºC now - might drop a little rain in sympathy with the sprinkler going yesterday!
-
has been sunny, but clouding up now. 12c max (Idon't believe that) NE winds, feel chilly to me. Nicosia is a cosy 38c today !!
-
has been sunny, but clouding up now. 12c max (Idon't believe that) NE winds, feel chilly to me. Nicosia is a cosy 38c today !!
Nicosia.. fair distance for exercise but if you row, I'll navigate :)
Lovely here, sunny and about 17ºC but the wind makes it feel like minus 5! (Please remember lockdown rules are different in Wales which is still closed.)
-
Wind chill with showers. Didn't look bad outside till I got to the plots when the sun left and the wind got up.
-
It's been an OK day suns been out wind still here at times quite chilly :)
-
Not too cold last night, mild in the sun today, polytunnel was scorching though!
-
Down to 3.5C in the greenhouse last night. Outside now, it's 13C and mostly cloudy with a few bits of blue coming and going.
-
Lovely and sunny, very warm in the sun but a bit chilly in the shade. Still no rain in the forecast.. :(
You can always find something to moan at if you try hard enough!!! :)
-
Bright, still and warm. Just heading off for our walk, don't think I'll need a thick top today :)
-
It's been jolly chilly here today i don't like it, it plays havoc with my hands i've certainly suffered this week :)
-
Down to 1.5C in the greenhouse overnight, 12C in there now - so I'm going to start taking all the tender plants out now...
I've got the little radiator plugged in again as the house still feels chilly ::)
-
Max. only 13c, with SW winds. I have taken tender plants out today. Apparently there is no frost risk tonight. It doesn't feel very warm.
-
Lovely day but still rather chilly out the sun, just been for a lovely walk around a village near us also to charge the car. :)
-
Bright but cool today, needed my hat at the plot! Night time temps are set to pick up here considerably over the next week, up to the magix 10c by mid-week :)
-
Mostly cloudy. Max 14c, Winds WSW. I could do with some rain !
-
Rain at last here! Only the second time since lockdown began that we've had any more than a few drops. Ground was very badly needing this. Supposed to be another heavy spell tonight too.
-
Slightly overcast this morning but now there's just a little breeze.
-
White Sky. Max 16c, but only for a short time. Winds WSW. Really could use some gently rain, but none forecast for the next week !
-
It's been raining all morning and looks like it's on for the day!
-
Light grey skies but warm out, slightly muggy feeling almost.
-
It's jolly nippy in the wind we've just come back from our walk i got quite chilly. No rain forecast until the end of month Mrs B :)
-
After some overnight rain it's dull and cold here.
-
A splash of rain around midnight, bright, sunny and warm out today.
-
Another beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky and the winds dropped :)
-
Hot day today like everyone else, but it was really foggy first thing. View out of the bedroom window at 7am.
-
Yesterday was hot with strong sunshine. Today started damp from a little rain overnight and promises another sunny day. Slight problem last night - I'm bright red and painfully glowing in places!
-
Another beautiful day, make the most of it today as it's changing for a few days over the bank holiday weekend :)
-
It's not full cloud cover, but looks like rain on the way.. forecast was for a thunderstorm this afternoon, but the BBC forecast has removed that now (still showing on the MetO one :D) We could do with a downpour tbh
It's not a warm this morning, either - so we'll see
-
We had about half an inch of rain overnight - which is fantastic. The grass looks greener already! It's very grey - a featureless sky and only about 11ºC but the strong winds make it feel like we're in mid-winter!
-
Overnight low of 14C in the g/house overnight, 17C outside now, but grey. It's supposed to brighten up later.
-
2.4mm of overnight rain to add to the 1.2mm we had in early May.
Back to sunshine and quite a gusty breeze now - think I'll keep the courgettes, squashes, runner beans and sweetcorn in the cold frame for the next few days.
-
Sunny but quite a bit of breeze.
-
Supposedly 16c. with SW winds gusting at 40. The sun is trying to get up now, but she doesn't like to being blowy either. :D
-
Very, very, very, very windy. Otherwise nice. But windy.
-
Overnight low of 12C in the greenhouse, 15C outside now, it's sunny but very windy again.
Just when the forecast shows none is likely - it's just clouded over and started raining ::)
-
Same here mum very windy the sun keeps popping in and out feels a lot cooler than yesterday :)
-
Strong winds and rain overnight. This morning it's grey skies but the wind has eased slightly and it's still raining. Definitely a day in the house today!
-
Very happy to get some rain today!
-
We now have a thunderstorm  We do need the rain though..
-
We have just had 15 minutes of reasonable rain. Not forecast ! 15c, Winds WSW, and it was blowing very hard. Then the wind stopped and the rain came. Now it is blowing as before.
-
Bright but very windy. Had a short shower a few minutes ago, but not as much as needed.
-
Very windy, clouding over but been sunny since about 7.30 this morning.
-
Nice spot of rain here in Hampshire but very windy!! Hope my plants don’t blow away
-
We had repeated bursts of very blustery showers, a couple were thundery with it and one dropped quite a bit of hail  luckily it thawed very quickly once the sun was back out.
It was like an end of March/beginning of April day, rather than May ::)
-
Showers that stopped by the time I got to the door to feel what rain feels like
-
This morning it's grey and cloudy with a drizzle of rain. Forecast promises it's to dry up later, fingers crossed!
-
Wouldn't mind some rain but would like to see the back of the gales - doing all the gardening no good.
-
A bit of drizzle this morning, although barely enough to register on the rain gauge (0.6mm to be precise!)
Don't know what happened to the forecast strong breezes today - almost no wind at all...
-
Sunny with a few clouds, max.17c, Winds WSW, still more blowy than I would like. Yesterday 30 minutes of rain, doesn't seem to have made any difference to the soil, but I am sure the plants loved it.
-
Another lovely day a slight breeze, we've just been for our walk and it's jolly warm out there :D
No rain here hose going on tomorrow :)
-
It went down to 10C last night in the greenhouse. This morning was mild 15C, but grey and windy, the clouds have finally blown over and the sun has come out to play and the temp quickly jumped up to 23C :)
-
Another beautiful day sunshine all the way :)
-
Same today sunshine all the way :)
-
Hot, hot, hot!
-
And the same here. Sunshine all the way. The beach at Compton was packed, about fifty cars in the car park, no social distancing at all. Anyone who moans about it on the Islands Facebook page gets 'shouted down'. We usually stop there every morning at about 8.30 to have a quick walk around but didn't today as there was already about ten cars there.
-
19/20c, winds ESE then ENE, at least the cotton from the poplar tree will blow the other way. Sunny.
-
11C in the greenhouse overnight, and 18C outside now in the sunshine - there's a nice breeze to stop it getting too hot today 8)
-
It's a sunny day with a nice breeze.
-
Same here GG still very warm :)
-
m.22c, winds ESE then changing to NE later.
-
Too hot! We're not used to this sort of weather anymore after living in N Wales for 10 years :)
-
Thank goodness for the breeze...
-
Beautiful day :D
-
Another lovely, sunny morning, 11C overnight in the g/house and it's already 19C outside.
-
Same as yesterday - getting boring now.
-
Very sunny out but there's a strong breeze making it feel a lot cooler. Met office saying temps will drop from Wednesday onwards, even the possibility of rain!
-
Too flipping hot to clear out my greenhouse and shed for today's removals of belongings. I feel a rain dance coming on! ;)
-
Another glorious day :D
-
Still scorchio, but forecast is for big change by Thursday - so making the most of it while I can 8)
-
I thought the change was coming tomorrow, bring it on, at least then my hay fever might abate. I am on maximum dosage at the moment and can only just about cope. I can't have the tablets as they all contain lactose which I'm intolerent to so have to have the children's syrup instead.
-
I thought the change was coming tomorrow, bring it on, at least then my hay fever might abate.
Nasty, bad luck!
For here - tomorrow is light cloud max 18C But Thursday is cloudy with a 60% chance of rain and down to 12C by lunchtime
Shivers at the thought, poor trees and plants can't put a cardi on though, can they :(
-
Finally some rain in the night but nowhere near enough, maybe a millimetre :(
Lot colder too - I wonder if the shorts and T shirts will make another appearance this year...
-
Dry, I think I felt a couple of spots of rain first thing though in hindsight it could have been a sparrow spitting at me.
-
I think we had proper rain over night. It was still dripping and spitting at 9am so I retired to the armchair with a book to find that it has just stayed grey and dull when I should have been planting broccoli and broad beans.
-
Just a few spits and spots, nothing to write home about though. I do feel better though (hay fever wise) as it was enough to settle the dust .
-
A nice drop of rain last night one water butt half filled up, big one long way to go , grey clouds today :)
-
No rain overnight:( There is some cloud cover, but only very light - it's a lot cooler today though only 13C which is a shock to the system after the last few weeks ::)
-
Overcast and breezy. No rain, the shower we had last night was just about enough to go with my husband's whisky.
-
Overcast most of the day, though we did get an unforecast bit of rain this afternoon.
-
Rain, what rain? I do wish the TV weather forecasts would stop predicting doom and gloom and then it never happens. Overcast and occasionally windy but nothing like we were told. Chilly though after what we've had, which is about the only thing they've got right.
-
Had overnight rain and now it's rather a cold breeze with some sun.
-
Cold and breezy with showers that are enough to be unpleasant but not heavy enough to do any good. Oh such is the gardener's lot! :D
-
Cold and breezy with showers that are enough to be unpleasant but not heavy enough to do any good. Oh such is the gardener's lot! :D
Same here, the showers we're getting aren't really enough to wet the soil surface :(
-
Very blustery suns been in and out all day, just been for our hours walk before i have to go out again :)
-
Couple of days with spates of heavy rain, hail showers, heavy showers, gusty winds. I've seen a glimmer of sun a couple of times.
-
Windy, cool and a decent bit of rain this morning, perfectly timed for the family walk!
-
Windy, thunder and big hail shower!! Well I wanted precipitation... ::)
-
Sunny and bright first thing, coffee in the greenhouse, then came the cold wind and then came the cloud. Few spits of rain amounting to 4mm pfft - I don't mind horrible grey with rain, but what's the point if we don't really get any ::)
-
Cold and breezy with showers that are enough to be unpleasant but not heavy enough to do any good. Oh such is the gardener's lot! :D
Same here, the showers we're getting aren't really enough to wet the soil surface :(
Thanks to someone doing a raindance (wasn't me, as Shaggy once said!) we have rain - proper rain, with actual puddles forming on the path :D Woo hoo!
-
Very windy here and cold too but not as much rain as hoped for. 9mm according to the gauge but I don't think it's working well.
-
It's been heavy rain overnights and heavy showers in the days for the past three days. Hail in June!!!!!
-
Dry and sunny this morning but we had a reasonable amount of rain in the night. Could do with more but better than nothing
-
3mm looks like about it for today - a bit less than most days since the warm spell abruptly ended (probably had around 18mm since then - not enough, but a lot better than nothing.)
If anyone is wondering how much rain is enough to be called 'useful', it obviously depends on your soil type:
Assuming no run-off, 1" (25.4mm) of rain will only penetrate 1-2" on the heaviest clay soils, up to 15" on the sandiest, and somewhere in between for loamy soils.
-
17c. clouded over now. 50% chance of rain at 5pm ::) Wind turning to NNE.
-
I was strimming on the allotments when the shower started, by the time I got home, I was drenched :(
5 mins later - rain stopped now weak sunshine. ::)
-
Apart from a few spits and spots, we've had nothing. I tried to plant some squash out today and the ground is solid. Even digging down about four inches there is no sign of moisture. Guess that's our water bill going up then! :D
-
Mostly cloudy and cool. A couple of spits of rain but nothing of note.
-
we've had rain since 5 and it's still raining hopefully filling up water butts, on the whole we've had a lovely day we took of this morning for Farnborough in surry and it's been sunshine all day, came home late afternoon to cloud :)
-
Very dull with a slight mizzle.
-
Cool but sunny with a little cloud in a blue sky! Lovely day to get things done outside
-
Alternating between dark and light grey sky and quite breezy from the North, so a chilly 14C.
-
patchy sky. 15c NE then N later. We did have a good shower for about 30 mins yesterday about 5pm.
-
Nuisance weather which feels like the temperature has regressed to October, lots of cloud, but insignificant rain, not enough even to notice it has rained on the plot. Forecast is for a decent rainfall all day tomorrow, but they forecast that for last Wednesday and next to nothing fell, so we shall see.
-
Overcast and warm, no sign of anymore rain either.
-
We had rain during the night, a shower early this morning but nothing since. It kept going dark and threatening but nothing happened. The wind went up and down, warm, then cold so we never knew where we were. I think the Weather God has got a bug and 'can't make his/her mind up'. :D :D
-
A bit brighter today, but because the breeze was still from the NE, it didn't feel much warmer (unless you were in the greenhouse :D)
-
9C overnight in the greenhouse but only 13C outside now, heavy grey clouds now, with rain forecast for much of the day; just what we need!
So fingers crossed we actually get some of the wet stuff ::)
-
Grey and overcast. Slight chance of rain later.
-
Got a bit of a sprinkling of rain during the night. Overcast now.
-
Grey and dripping periodically.
-
Just 13c. Overcast, rain on and off, winds SSE, but very still.
-
Temperature has just about staggered up to 11.5C, but a fair old northerly breeze out there.
Have had a few rain showers, looks like another one coming soon...
-
Mostly cloudy with the occasional blue bit, when I dash outside to enjoy it and max 16C - wind is cold from the NE again which means the bean frame on the plot will be taking the brunt of it :(
-
Hardly any rain, keeps looking like it is going to tip down but nothing. The wind is really cold and blustery. Wore a winter jumper to work today and put socks and ankle boots on instead of sandals as my feet got cold yesterday.
-
Cold - fit for wighty's winter jumpers and thicker socks, oh and it's raining. We are under a yellow warning of rain would you believe. Hello Flaming June.
-
Very windy and rain this afternoon :)
-
Cold here too. keeps threatening to chuck it down, but then nothing.
Trouble is, I put my shorts on in April...my little white legs stay exposed till October, whatever the weather!
As someone said to me a while ago "The last time I saw legs like that, they were dangling out of a nest!"
The last few nights I've been going to bed with cold knees, sorry Christine!
-
Very misty start, now just very dull, a band of quite heavy rain having passed just to the north of here.
13C at the moment - all things considered, not a bad November day at all!
-
12C overnight in the greenhouse, 17C now, but feeling cooler under grey sky.
The kind of weather that makes me cross - cloudy enough to be depressing, but that doesn't bring any of the rain we really need *grump*
-
We had a downpour that lasted all of 10mins, better than nothing.
All the wet stuff down south seems to be from Winchester all the way through Cornwall.
-
Another grim and murky Summer's day here although it has finally just started raining. Hopefully it lasts long enough to get into the soil.
*edit* lasted less than 5 minutes :(
-
It's finally rained here as well. Not as windy and cold as yesterday but very grey and overcast. The big Island to the north of us has disappeared again.
-
The sun is still struggling to break though the thick mist, so temperatures very disappointing at the moment (15C.)
No wind and 100% humidity, so should feel very warm when it finally manages it.
-
Sunny intervals and quite warm although there's a bit of a chilly breeze. Possibly thunderstorms according to the met office later but I wouldn't bet on it. Pollen is really high - or at least the pollen that gets me is.
Would be good to get some more rain. The last hasn't soaked in very far although the grass seems to be perking up now.
-
max 18c. it depends where you are working because the wind is ESE. the back of my house is direct south, so it is quite pleasant with lots of sun. the front is different again.
-
Warm and dry today. Had the my first email of the year from Blightwatch though, First Hutton Period, keep an eye on your toms and taters!
-
Not a bad day apart from that beastly wind, gone very moody now :D
-
Warm and sunny but starting to cloud over. I keep wishing for the wet stuff but no luck.
-
Alternates with darkening over and then bright skies. The TV is playing up and so is the computer, this usually indicates atmospheric disruption so goodness knows what's going on. Otherwise it's been a pleasant day, a bit breezy but we've swept the drive and filled the last of our bins, got to make an appointment now so we can go to the tip.
-
Yesterday we had a dribble or two of rain, maybe a quarter inch but we're back to bright with sunny spells today.
-
After days on end of willing the clouds to squeeze out more than a few millimetres of rain, yesterday evening we had a thundery downpour which dropped 11mm in 20 minutes! :)
Currently what is becoming a familiar sight - thick mist off the North Sea which will no doubt take until lunchtime for the sun to break through.
-
17 ish, Wind SSE. White/blue sky some sun.
-
Another beautiful day, we went for a lovely walk along the beach it was really lovely hardly anybody down there. :)
-
Same again another beautiful day :)
-
Same again another beautiful day :)
You lucky people! We've got showers though and the ground needs them so mustn't grumble.
-
Mostly warm and sunny, 20C - we've had the occasional short cloudy spell pass over, but no rain at all, so far.
-
Warm and bright again. Some dark clouds and thunder passed over earlier but barely a drop of rain :(
Date with the hosepipe again tonight.
-
Sorry for a second post but I was just a third of the way through watering the plot this evening when the heavens opened good and proper! Thunder, lightning and torrential rain, the drive back home was interesting to say the least :)
-
All day it has looked 'oppresive' and very cloudy and we were expecting the worst. Nothing. We haven't had any of the rain, apart from a few spits and spots. No thunder storms or anything. Oh well tomorrow is another day and all hell will probably be let loose. (I hope not but I wouldn't put it past the weather). :D
-
18c, sunny but through a white sky. A few blue patches. Winds SSW. No rain.
-
It's warm, about 20ºC, but dull and the fog is just lifting now. Rain and thunder forecast for later but we'll see! I got trapped in the greenhouse yesterday by a sudden heavy shower but it didn't last long, maybe 3mm rain in total yesterday.
-
It's 22C sunless here and very close/humid - thunderstorms are forecast, but no rain or rumbles so far..
Come on, I'm fed up with watering ::)
-
We had thunder storms and heavy rain late afternoon yesterday. I got soaked just running to the car to go to work and again running from the car to the shop ::)
Today is sunny so far, but still feels humid.
-
Same again and tomorrow ' SUNSHINE' :)
-
Had a brief thunderstorm early yesterday evening which brought a brief burst of spectacularly heavy rain, but only for a few minutes (5mm.)
It's taken until now for the mist to lift today, and it's still quite cloudy.
Lots of thunderstorms showing up on the radar, mainly for the home counties and Cornwall - some quite fast moving, some almost static - weird!
Time will tell whether they get this far north...
-
Thunderstorms in my village but they never passed over my allotment three miles away. Allotment is still parched. I've never known a three month period with such little rain since I have lived here.
-
We had rain in the night, about 20 minutes worth. Now really heavy and oppressive - hope more rain is on the way.
-
Heavy rain woke me up just before 5am, and it's only just beginning to ease up now :) Woo hoo! no watering today :)
On the downside, it looks as if I will have to do some housework
-
Same here, was woken up first thing by the heavy rain, still raining now. The allotment has had the drenching it needed thankfully.
-
Grey, cool and drizzling. Still, 10mm of water is better than none :)
-
Cool, grey and very overcast. Can feel moisture in the air but we've not had a drop (yet!) The weather maps on the TV this morning did show us being missed out, but as they usually get it wrong, I didn't pay much attention.
-
Been raining most of the day, only now showing signs of brightening up.
Maximum 13C, 21mm total rainfall - wouldn't mind a bit of sun and warmth now TBH!
-
No rain during the day but we had some during the night still need more, but water butts full :)
-
Lovely weekend apart from that beastly wind was back again yesterday it's a bit lighter today. :)
-
Bright and breezy start to the day, took our morning walk early to avoid the hotter afternoon.
-
Very warm, no breeze. Dog walked at 6 this morning - meant we could get on the beach and he home before it got too warm.
-
Cool, grey, damp here with a bit of a breeze. Sunshine promised this afternoon.. can but hope.
-
Warming up rapidly here, thankfully still a cool breeze blowing.
-
Warming up rapidly here, thankfully still a cool breeze blowing.
We're just grateful when the ice melts! :)
It's stopped drizzling but still very grey outside.
-
I'm soo behind this year, but I deffo picked the wrong day to finally cover the greenhouse frame with plastic I'm baked..
-
By Heck it jolly hot out there 26 deg stay safe, easy to get burnt :)
-
Blazingly hot out there today. Got our walk done first thing when it was still cool enough to do so. Days like this where I'm glad our plot is semi-shaded.
-
Hot, hot, hot again - 30C in the garden which is missing the breeze 8)
-
Hot and still. Back from dog walking by 6. Humidity and heat are playing havoc with my asthma, not a good day
-
A mere 28.2C up here in the frozen north. ;)
-
Very warm 29.4oC at the moment
-
Sunny and warm with blue skies here
The thermometer on the south facing wall at the lottie said 29degC at midday. My car thermometer (parked under a tree) was a mere 24.5. Either's a minor miracle!
-
30c Winds ESE. !
-
Boiling out but thankfully there is a faint breeze to take the edge off the heat.
-
Once again my favourite weather forecast 8)
-
HOT HOT HOT :D
-
I cut the front lawn at 5pm and then at 7pm went out to water the flower bed. The temperature drop was noticable, it had gone down a lot. We have 'battened' down the hatches, as nobody agrees whether the thunderstorms are tonight, tomorrow or whenever(if ever).
-
Rain to the west of me, rain to the east,
Here I am, stuck in the middle with none.
(Apologies to Stealers Wheel.)
23C, 75% humidity - I could do with a 'thundery breakdown', never mind the garden. ::)
-
We got lucky! A noisy thunderstorm woke me at 5am and it was truly bucketing down. So this morning has been sunny but a wee bit cooler, it's back up to 28C now though!
-
Thunderstorm in the early hours. Now it's a gorgeous summer day, gentle breeze and soft sunshine.
-
Small shower this morning and now blazing hot again.
-
The rain and thunderstorm completely by-passed us. Scorching day yesterday and when we set off for work at 8am this morning really sunny. Half way across the Island we met a wall of sea mist and the whole of the West Wight was covered, Felt chilly and damp all morning. As we drove eastwards to get back home it got brighter and warmer and now we're home sitting out in the sunshine. The Island's weather doesn't surprise me any more.
-
20c Wind SW, have had to take the door curtain down, as very blowy. A few hours rain forecast for tomorrow. Erm, we'll see.
-
Some very loud and persistent rumbles of thunder about an hour ago - checked the rain radar and it looked like eastern areas of Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster had a nice deluge.
Here in SW Sheffield, not a drop. :(
Been up to 28.4C this afternoon and still humid (must have misread the weather forecast! ::) :tongue2:)
-
Only 29.4oC here today. But due to last night’s thunder storm the humidity is high.
-
I may have spoken too soon, but it appears that the thunderstorms which we were predicted have passed up the Pennines. High today of 29C.
-
Some very loud and persistent rumbles of thunder about an hour ago - checked the rain radar and it looked like eastern areas of Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster had a nice deluge.
Here in SW Sheffield, not a drop. :(
Looking at pictures on the news of hailstones the size of a £2 coin coming out of that thunderstorm makes me relieved rather than disappointed we just missed it - hope no-one suffered damage to either crops or property.
-
Oooh! That sounds nasty
This morning we're mostly cloudy, sun occasionally trying to break through, with the odd quick sprinkle of rain now and again. 16C and quite humid now.
-
After the heatwave yesterday felt a lot colder than the thermometer's 20ºC reading. A grey chilly day that threatened rain but did not deliver. Distant thunder in the background but we escaped that too.
Rain overnight continuing today, reasonable rate so the ground is absorbing it.
Amazing how well the grass is doing now, really green and lush :) - same can be said for the weeds :(
-
It is currently tipping down here. Glass half empty - I was going to the plot this morning :( Glass half full - when I do get there I don't need to water :D
-
Was woken up in the early hours by the sound of rain. got a couple of hours of decent downpour and the skies look like we may see some more. Was always going to happen given that I gave the plot a good soaking yesterday.
-
It's horriable out there we just been for a quick walk around the block, low cloud and blowing a gale my poor garden is certainly getting a battering :(
-
About the same here. Grey, 17c, winds SW very gusty. Things keep flying by my window. (not birds)
-
Sunny but the chilly wind has taken all the heat out of it. Not a very good forecast for the forthcoming week on Countryfile tonight. Although most of the predicted rain again seems to pass us by. Please could you share it out equally please because we would like some. :D
-
Cool and cloudy. We had a few minor showers this afternoon but nothing of note.
-
Light rain for most of the day but when I quickly harvested some spuds when the rain stopped for an hour amazed to find the soil was pretty dry
-
Cloudy, 17C and looks like rain - but the blustery wind just keeps blowing it over (gusting at 20mph) ::)
-
The same as Mum, but the wind is gusting around 30. I feel a bit chilly today.
-
Same here i'm fed up with this wind some one tell it to go 3 days is enough :)
-
I had to put my winter hat on today. In June.
-
Blowing a gale. Branches of ceanothus are off. Neighbours fence looking very sorry for itself.
-
Freezing cold and windy today. A lot of our onions have been blown over at the neck >:(
-
It is a bit cool and grey here so far. I am hoping it cheers up a bit, but I will settle for dry, but cloudy. Wind has dropped, which is good. The trees and shrubs were being flung around all over the place yesterday.
-
It is a bit cool and grey here so far. I am hoping it cheers up a bit, but I will settle for dry, but cloudy. Wind has dropped, which is good. The trees and shrubs were being flung around all over the place yesterday.
Same here, I'm going to walk round to the plot later, to see if the polycover on the old greenhouse frame is still there and in one piece ::)
-
Constant light rain today. At least I won’t need to water.
-
Same here at least the gales have abated feels rather chilly today had to put a jacket on :)
-
Wet! It was drizzling when I took the dog out first thing and has alternated between rain and drizzle all day

Another 6mm of rain overnight, so no watering today, except the greenhouses ::) woohoo!
Feels quite cool this morning 15C blue with a few clouds but there's quite a breeze - thick cardi on this morning for tea in the greenhouse..
-
I don't think it rained here overnight. It is about 17C again today, and mostly sunny. But that wind is SWS today, too blowy and gusting at 38.
-
Low cloudy and beastly gusty wind DON'T like it >:(
-
Wet, windy and generally rubbish.
-
We've had some wind although not as bad as I feared and 60mm of rain in the last 24 hours so that's enough for now, thank you.
If you like being cold and wet and enjoy a bracing gale, why not come and visit Snowdonia. Some days the clouds part and you can see nearly 10 yards! (That was an advert for the N Wales Tourist Lovers Club)
-
Wet, windy and generally rubbish.
Seems like your weather has arrived here, thanks for that :tongue2:
-
Like January with leaves.
-
Wet, windy and generally rubbish.
Seems like your weather has arrived here, thanks for that :tongue2:
And here as well. It might slow the rowdys/hooligans down a bit though.
-
Same here were just about to go for a walk in it :)
-
Overcast and muggy. No rain yet but it looks like it could any moment now.
-
Very windy. There are clouds, but they are passing over fast, so the sunshine is winning. It is dry and not too bad temperature wise. It just sounds awful with the trees and bushes being flung about again.
-
Grey, breezy and 18C, it's s'posed to brighten up by lunchtime, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed :D
-
Weather here today and all weekend, indeed all of July to date can only be described as truly cr@p....12-13c, howling wind and heavy blustery showers after unremitting rain all day Friday and much of Sat. Would rank as pretty poor weather for October.
We are truly paying for such a warm dry spring now.
Have had to bring outside tomatoes into greenhouse where there's space as they keep blowing over. Have already lost several branches off them.
-
Met says 17 average, feels like 13/14c . Last night despite more clothing, my CH went on for about an hour !!
Still very blowy. various branches broken down and hanging, so lots to do - sometime !! At least it is sunny.
-
Blowing a hoolie out there...again.
As with mrs bouquet, at least it's sunny :)
-
Sunny and warm, very gusty wind though.
-
Bit of rain, very grey skies, cool and awfully windy :(
I'm going back to bed, wake me in August :)
-
It actually turned out OK here with plenty of sunshine, although the wind is still strong even now. I spent the whole afternoon on the plot weeding and pottering around.
My plot robin is mid moult and very grumpy  I got shouted at a lot, but he came round when the worms started being turned up with the weeds.
-
I'm going back to bed, wake me in August :)
I usually say "I'm going back to bed, wake me at the weekend"
On reflection, August would seem the better option! :D
-
Very muggy today on and of sunshine :)
-
Didn't rain today! Even some sunshine for brief periods this afternoon. Cool though, esp. in the breeze.
-
Bright sunny sky, few clouds building up.
Shame I've got to go to work :(
-
Bright sunny sky, few clouds building up.
Same here, breeze strengthening as well ::)
-
Constant drizzly showers all morning, made for an enjoyable walk this morning!
-
Cold (13C), dreary, the heavy rain promised from noon has actually delivered just 1mm, and looks to be clearing away now.
Worst of both worlds - if it's going to be cold and miserable at least you might hope the garden gets a good watering. :(
-
Not a bad day sunshine most of the day breezy at times :)
-
Bit grey and rainy here. At work at the moment, but going out later to meet a work friend at a garden centre for coffee and a mooch. She has been off work in isolation for the last few months, but is starting to venture out :)
-
15mm of rain yesterday, 18mm today - reckon it's time to stop complaining about the lack of rain here!
I'll complain about the temperature instead - 11.7C here at the moment, dank and misty. :nowink:
-
Wet and humid here.
-
Grey, and more grey - at least the rain has now stopped and winds have dropped. A humid 18C - perfect blight weather
-
Grey, and more grey - at least the rain has now stopped and winds have dropped. A humid 18C - perfect blight weather
Exactly what I'm afraid of...
-
Sunny, cloudy, breezy. Feels like September :(
-
Max 19c WSW gentle winds. I have just been trying to do new planting and it is like breaking rocks !!!
-
Dry, calm, sunny and warm - looks like a lovely day! :)
-
It started off lovely, sunny and warm, it's clouded over now - 17C so cardi back on time ::)
-
Just about the same as Mum, but promising to get sunny again later.
-
Bright and warm, just enjoyed an epic long family walk in the sunshine.
-
Glorious day :D
-
White clouds, 16c, winds WSW. Some rain promised for later !
-
Not as good as yesterday but OK, we need a night of rain it's so dry everywhere :)
-
After a lovely day yesterday, today we've been in thick cloud until about an hour ago. Odd spots of rain but nothing too bad, about 5mm over the last 24 hours according to my clever gizmo. Very cool though - but I think my gizmo is playing up as it said 5 and now 18 degrees.. Hmmmm Still, chilly without a jacket on.
-
Warm and humid, started raining at 1 and not stopped since.
-
It's drizzled all day. :(
-
It's drizzled all day. :(
So you decided to send it here, so I could share today? :D
-
up and down, 21,20,19,18c and so on. Lots of cloud, some quite grey. Winds NW. There was rain overnight, but not sure how much.
-
Overcast & breezy. Very humid too which gives me a headache.
-
(I'm DEFINITELY not having UK weather here!)
Athens, Georgia
Since July 1, high temperatures averaging about 33 C, roughly that temperature right now. Very dry, we have really had only one helpful rain for the month so far. I am DREAMING about a "drizzled all day"! Chance of rain hopefully will increase this weekend.
-
... I am DREAMING about a "drizzled all day"! Chance of rain hopefully will increase this weekend.
Be careful what you wish for. Took these from our front door a minute ago. This is what we call summer in N Wales :) The grey is misty, low cloud. 12ºC with little breeze and light rain at the moment.
-
18c, westerly winds, a concrete sky. My garden needs a lot more rain than yesterdays shower !!
-
Well John, I guess we could both do with 'meeting in the middle' on the rain and temperatures. Look on the bright side, at least yours is green and not dry to a crispy brown (which is what my lawn grass looks like). I am saving the water to irrigate the vegetables and flowers.
I hope you get some sun, some warmth, and a little less rain.
-
50 shades of grey sky today, with a bit of drizzle from the darkest clouds, feels like Autumn already ::)
-
Muggy & overcast. Short spell of rain early afternoon.
-
Blinking cold, like the beginning of winter.
-
50 shades of grey sky today, with a bit of drizzle from the darkest clouds, feels like Autumn already ::)
50 shades? I thought this was a family program! :D :tongue2:
-
Right now, the temperature is 97 F (36.1 C), we have not had significant rain for 2 weeks. We could hit 100 F today.
My oldest son is an entomology graduate student, and is out in the afternoon heat right now, as I type, doing research in a peach orchard (investigation on ground covers as a means to control certain insects). My youngest son is helping him. [Say a little prayer, if you please.]
The meteorologists are predicting an increased chance of rain over the next several days (still only 2 days where there is more than a 50% chance). Each of those days will be over 32 C.
-

Comes on here telling us about his hot weather... we're not jealous, gnash gnash, couldn't care less, honest. Grump, mutter, moan. Heavy rain and 14ºC forecast for Saturday. Deep joy :)

:lol: :D ::) :tongue2:
We just need to find a way to trade John! ::) Maybe I need to start holiday packages, come enjoy the sunny south in July? In exchange for January in Wales perhaps  (equal, yet inequal, punishment).
Oh well, I guess we are both stuck with the weather we have.
-
As promised, wet and cold. This is not the July weather we are looking for!
-
Cloudy, but a fairly warm and muggy day at 18C.
Quite a lot of rain showing up on the radar (from John's direction) but none of it's made it across the Pennines yet (neighbours will be pleased - they're having a socially distanced haircutting session in their back garden at the moment!)
-
Overcast and muggy again.
-
Cloudy with occasional patches of drizzle.
-
Sunny and about 20c, the winds are SW and blowy (but it always blows up here)
-
It was very warm overnight, and carried on getting warmer during the day 27C now, I came in for some shade 8)
-
Cloudy and overcast, until we got to the west side of the Island where it was sunny until midday when that also clouded over. I'd left my cardi in the van and Paul had taken it away when he went off on deliveries and I got really cold.
-
A very dark cloudy sky, not even a leaf is fluttering - spooky. rain due from about noon on.
-
Virtually cloudless, 18C, slight breeze - almost feels like a summer's day (weird! ;))
-
Steady rain all morning. Just the sort that the garden needs over a prolonged period. Still going after a short break about midday.
-
It's a beautiful sunny day here with a light breeze.
-
Cloudy, but dry and humid this morning, but it has been raining since lunchtime.
-
Looked outside at brilliant sunshine 8) so opened windows and door, ooh a bit cooler than I was expecting! ::)
Checked in the greenhouse, which was open all night, and found all the glass wet on the inside and thermometer showing a low of 9C last night
Looks like I'll have to start covering the chair cushions at night *sigh*
-
Blue skies, warm without being hot and a gentle breeze. Got a good snap of the Malvern Hills whilst out walking this morning!
-
100 F (37.8 C) yesterday, hot, without a breeze, no rain in sight.
Today is also supposed to be hot, upper 90s F, but 40% chance of afternoon rain. Better odds for rain than we have had in a while.
-
A little cool at 19c because it is SSW breezy. It was cold out in the garden at 8am, when I was doing watering in my nightie. :D
-
What are you growing in your nightie, Mrs B? ::) (Well, somebody had to ask...)
-
What are you growing in your nightie, Mrs B? ::) (Well, somebody had to ask...)
Mrs B was watering IN her nighty not watering her nighty (unless she splashed herself, as I often do) :tongue2:
-
I shall re-phrase that, I was watering the garden wearing my nighty. :tongue2:  Mrs B

The joys of a lockdown.. not many people around. Although it is getting a bit busier here.
Some reasonable weather here last few days but I've been stuck indoors with work.. grrrr >:( >:(
-
Finally, blessed by rain! Inches of it, all very much needed. I will go out later and have a look. In the meantime, I have my door open, just listening to the beautiful sound of all that water pouring down!
-
Well at least Mrs. B was wearing a nightie! Any other thoughts of what she could have been growing have been chased away! Anyway, back to the weather, started out looking really good here then clouded over about 4pm and still that way now.
-

Closest weather station, 2.45 inches of rain! :D
-
My greenhouse thermometer tells me that yesterday's maximum was 23C last night's minimum was 23C and that it's 23C now err... Time for a reset or perhaps a new one, m'thinks.
Anyway, it's sunny with the odd white cloud, hardly any breeze, and a little warmer than it was at this time yesterday
Fingers crossed it stays that way and I can get my winter brassicas planted before they climb out of their modules ::)
-
Blue sky, no clouds, 19c winds SW
-
Another beautiful day, shame i was in doors all morning :)
-
Blue skies, calm and still. Just right for sitting in the garden with that first cuppa.
-
Cold, breezy and drizzling here. It's more like like late autumn than high summer :(
-
A bit cooler than yesterday, 17C now, a cardi on day ::)
There's high cloud with just a few gaps, so doesn't look as if it will warm up anytime soon :(
-
The sky is white. 19c tops. The wind is SW, but it doesn't feel particularly warm. Long sleeves today.
-
A steady drizzle all day.
-
Overcast and muggy. little spits of rain but nothing substantial.
-
We just went 1o miles or so to Bangor for the click and collect. It was grey, cool and dry. Back home it's drizzling still and we're in the clouds so the last mile was spent with foglights on. Hopefully dry tomorrow. PLEASE!!!
-
Bit overcast, muggy, but no rain. Got up to 21C just after lunch but a bit cooler now.
Looks like hosepipe will be in action again this evening (supposed to be some rain arriving later but I can't see where from on the radar...)
-
Unspeakable, but not grumbling about the steady rain.
-
Dull and grey, hovering around 18C. There was a little rain first thing, it was just enough to wet the path before it stopped :nowink:
-
Horrid, grey, wet and cold.
-
Muggy, odd shower of rain but nothing substantial so far.
-
Was 21.3C an hour or so ago, bit less now it's clouded up.
As is often the case, very few of the showers have managed to stagger across the Pennines (0.8mm so far here today... :nowink:)
-
Lovely rain garden say's yes please :)
-
After rain all day yesterday, the garden looks much better today. Patchy sun and cloud today.
-
Bucketing it down, very windy and around 15ºC - just about what you'd expect for late autumn.
Keep hanging on the forecast claiming nice weather is coming by the end of the week.
-
It's been raining overnight and this morning but now the sun's coming in and out.
-
Feels cold and windy (gusting at 28-30mph) with occasional short/sharp downpours.
It must be autumn already
-
Overcast and drizzly all day.
-
Overcast and drizzly all day.
Luxury! :tongue2:
-
Bucketing it down, very windy and around 15ºC - just about what you'd expect for late autumn.
Stop hogging it all John - seemed like quite a wet morning yesterday, but the day's total was only 5mm (that's after a few weeks with only the odd millimetre (or less) here and there. :()
Bright and breezy this morning - possible showers forecast at times but I'll believe it when I see it...
-
Lovely and sunny this morning 8) but feeling cool so far, with the door open for the cat ::)
It was down to 9C in the greenhouse last night.
-

It was down to 9C in the greenhouse last night.
Same here at least the winds died down :)
-
Some blue sky, but lots of dark clouds. Still very blowy, the washing is wrapped around the line !! Doesn't feel very warm, have to wait for the heat-wave on Friday. !!!
-
Mainly dull with occasional showers and a stiff breeze.
-
After a patchy start, it's looking nice out there. Bright with fluffy clouds scudding across the blue sky. Bit breezy and definitely not T shirt temps though.
-
Down to 8C in the greenhouse last night, tomatoes not impressed by the wilty look of them :(
17C outside now, bright and sunny :)
The forecast is for it to warm up a lot by the end of the week as the jet stream has moved North of us, for now ::) Thank goodness for that...
-
After an overcast sky early this morning, the sun is peeping out from some light wispy clouds. It's a cool breeze though.
-
Beautiful morning been in garden all morning blue sky and wall to wall sunshine :)
-
It's raining. I'm pleased. The ground is dry and it will save me watering.
-
Beautiful day :)
-
it's hot...damn hot...which is good if you're with a woman...and bad if you're in the jungle. (GMV)
-
Really hot this afternoon and looking like it'll be hotter again tomorrow.
-
It was slow to start but a lovely afternoon - dug out a short sleeved shirt...
Predicting a hot one tomorrow here too :)
-
Woke up to a lovely summer morning so cleaned all my windows and pegged the washing out. Yup, you got it right. Down came the rain but at least the lawn had a good cut beforehand.
-
Cloudy today, just occasionally a bit of blue, and breezy with it - got the strimmer out and it started spitting *sigh*
-
Lovely and sunny but a bit breezy at the same time. Some black clouds keep passing over.
-
Whizzing it down!
-
Send us some GG. The drought here is killing everything in the garden and it’s considered antisocial here to use a hose, even on the allotments >:(
-
Yesterday was horrible - strong winds and it rained all day. About 40mm in the last 24 hours.
Still damp and windy but improving (I hope!)
-
After a grey start brightened up and now it is lovely and sunny. The breeze is still there but less than yesterday.
-
Muggy and overcast for most of the day, little drizzle of rain this afternoon for ten minutes.
-
No rain for a few days in the forecast and the radar map shows no rain - or for the last 2 hours .. so how come everywhere is wet as if the rain only just stopped? Cool too, about 16ºC out there.
-
Stay safe everyone it's HOT HOT out there :D
-
Stay safe everyone it's HOT HOT out there :D
Not here, I'm afraid. Grass and paving is damp from light showers in the early hours. Sun trying to break through the grey sky. Warmer than recently though :) About 20ºC
-
It started out with hot sun and white clouds but now it's all grey skies, a light breeze and a bit humid.
-
El scorchio , el scorchio. Not much will get done this afternoon but a sit in the shade I think
-
Hot, damn hot...you know the rest.
Although it's fairly "cool" in here, 2ft thick ironstone walls. SHUT THE DOOR!! :)
-
Not quite as warm as forecast, we've had a fair amount of unpredicted cloud cover and even a couple of short, sharp showers.
-
El scorchio , el scorchio. Not much will get done this afternoon but a sit in the shade I think
It's 32C here 8)
Is this what you meant Snowdrops?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZMUAd7OJc8 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZMUAd7OJc8)
-
hot and playing havoc with my asthma
-
36.2 in the shade in my garden today... Phew :(
-
Forecast is for a minimum of 22C tonight  and back up to 26C by 9am..
I had to rescue the hydrangeas with a couple of buckets of water each and the lawn is mostly brown now *sigh*
Sorry my raindance isn't working Auntie :(
-
Thank you for trying, Mum.
-
Hot with blue skies, wispy clouds and a nice light breeze.
-
35C now, with no breeze to make it more comfortable.
The overnight 'low' was 22C in the 'all doors and windows open' greenhouse Phew!
Only a few weeks ago they were forecasting 6C overnight - no wonder plants are confused this year ::)
-
Same temperature here now. There is some gentle breeze flapping about, but even that is hot. Lawns all gone now, it is like Meerkat Manor almost.
-
Same here, I haven't been outside all day, daren't because my hay fever is so bad at the moment I can't breathe. I shut myself in our little front room which is the furthest from 'fresh air' and I'm okay, five minutes at the back of the house and my eyes are streaming and I'm sneezing and coughing. I know it usually ends at the end of August, but who knows this year.
-
According to Met weather, this will continue in SE until Wednesday/Thursday. No rain forecast for weeks though.
-
The Island Echo has reported that it is the hottest day ever recorded here on the Island 35 degrees. I've been outside a couple of times but can't stay out there as I'm not a lover of heat. We had several jobs planned but have postponed them for now.
-
Another really hot and sunny day 35C earlier 8)
-
So hot I could just do with one of these
(https://i.imgur.com/oN1KOXo.gif?noredirect)

Ice cold in Alex? :)
Been a pleasant Goldilocks day here - not too hot, not too cold. Now the mist is rolling up the hill from the sea and it has gone quite chilly. Possibly thunder and lightning tomorrow.. or maybe a little light rain, depends which site you look at.
At least I managed to get stuff done rather than hiding under a parasol from the heat.
-
Hot and humid here.
I was supposed to be playing tennis with our next door neighbour, he's not up for it, too hot. Although to be fair he has been fencing all day!
Shame I was looking forward to working up a good sweat.
And in the vein of mum and the late great Caroline Aherne.
Scorchio!
-
So hot again we just might get a thunderstorm tonight don't hold your breath there not always right :)
-
Another really hot and sunny day 35C earlier 8)
Same again! Apart from a chance of a thunderstorm tonight or over the next few days, the MetO forecast is for much the same for the foreseeable, just a little bit cooler from Saturday....
-
My wish is, if we are going to have a thunder storm, bring it on, sooner rather than later. Get it over and done with and freshen up the air. My hay fever is bad as there is no dampness to subdue the pollen in the air. I am now on maximum medication for the last couple of days which I've never had to do before and I feel like a zombie.
-
We are under the edge of a storm cloud, with rumbles and light rain, on the rain radar the main pulses were to the West earlier and now to the East - typical ::)
I can still hear rumbles but the sun has come out while I type - at least it feels a bit fresher, for now. Small mercies and all that :nowink:
-
Haven't heard any rumbles here. I think the whole house ie: walls, roof etc are now so hot, when it rains it will probably be very steamy. :D
-
Yesterday we had a lightning storm and about 5mm rain in a couple of minutes which stopped as fast as it started.
Power was on and off and lots of electrical cracking noises in the house. My neighbour said he had sparks coming out of his phone socket!
After it passed, computers booted but the router had died. Luckily the phone still worked so rang the sprog who ordered me a new one express. Our TV comes through the net, so we watched A Fistful of Dollars on DVD :)
Think I'll do some more mowing now, it's sunny and dry.
-
We’re over 35C again today.
There was a little rain and lightening during the night but all that has done is raise the humidity.
-
Think I'll do some more mowing now, it's sunny and dry.
Lucky to have something to mow. Our grass is all dead.
-
Think I'll do some more mowing now, it's sunny and dry.
Lucky to have something to mow. Our grass is all dead.
Same here :(
-
I'm still wishing, we haven't had anything. Not a spit or a spot. We also can't do any mowing as there is nothing to mow as it's all brown and shriveled. We also haven't had much to eat tonight as neither of us has any appetite as the oppresive weather is wearing us down.
-
Relentless, oppresive heat here, horrible and sticky tonight. On the way back from the curry house tonight my friend and I spotted huge amounts of flashing in the sky, turns out there's been huge lightning storms a few miles up the road from us, lit up the Northern sky like a strobe effect!
-
Warm and still but thick mist or cloud so we own all we can see again. More lightning late last night so frantic pulling of plugs and cables. They're promising yet more (https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/webfiles/1596535458062/images/icons/weather/29.svg) this afternoon.
-
More lightning late last night so frantic pulling of plugs and cables.
Not just me then (at 0200 this morning - don't tend to get many storms here but one we had about a dozen years ago took out my phone line for over 4 weeks and fried my broadband router!)
9mm of rain from a very noisy storm - first rain for weeks. :)
Forget the notion that a storm freshens the air - already 22C with 95% humidity here. :nowink:
-
For the past (almost) 3 hours we've had thunder, lightning and quite heavy rain.
Just now the sun's come out. Still got thunder rumbling though.
-
Rain and storms were in the forecast, but we had none. 27C already and no hint of a breeze, so far :(
I'm melting.... . . . .
-
As early as 8 am today I sure wasn't going out to have my morning brew and decided to do indoor jobs today because despite a hazy blue sky there's not a hint of a breeze, rather humid, and it's very, very HOT!!!!!!!!!!!! ??? ??? ???
-
I'm still wishing, we haven't had anything. Not a spit or a spot. We also can't do any mowing as there is nothing to mow as it's all brown and shriveled. We also haven't had much to eat tonight as neither of us has any appetite as the oppresive weather is wearing us down.
Just the same here, except for the eating bit !!
-
Hot, humid and very uncomfortable.
-
Blisteringly hot again today but around 6-ish we had a huge downpour, thunder, lightning, the lot!
-
Well the weather persons say "There's going to be heavy thunderstorms" but I see the cumulus clouds build up only to overconvect and die away not quite making it to Nimbus stage. Days and days of sticky humid weather here. I don't know how I stood two years of similar weather in both Singapore and Hong Kong, but then I were only a slip of a lad...
Cheers, Tony
-
The sound of rain on the conservatory roof, bliss!!!!. Blue skies now but it was a.decent drop of rain - filled the bird bath. Still feels very.humid.
-

Same here GG :)
-
We had a little rain in the early hours, but it hardly even wet the surface, certainly nothing in the pot saucers, on the plus-side it does feel a bit cooler, so far, today :)
-
Yesterday we had mammoth thunderstorms over night with, we're told, 22-23 days' rain all at once.
Flooding in the usual place but, more tragically a (fortunately early morning, so only 12 inc staff) train derailed with 3 dead and 6 injured.
As I said on the Rain thread - careful what you wish for... :( :(
-
We had ten minutes of rain late last night and a few showers through the day but nothing that really counts. I agree with the 'be careful of what you wish' thought as it is really muggy tonight. It will p robably wait until I've just dropped off, it usually does. :D
-
Actually hit 27ºC last couple of days, very close too. A few spits of rain but nothing worthwhile. Thunder rumbles in the distance but not enough to close everything down.
Thick old stone walls so it's 23ºC inside :)
-
Last nights storm really helped, the temperature has dropped quite a bit today. Muggy, overcast and a few decent showers to boot today.
-
It's certainly fresher than it has been and today we've got slightly hazy blue skies and a little bit of cool breeze.
-
Yesterday was cooler and grey, but still very humid - today is cool and grey but thankfully we have lost the humidity.
Would have been nice to have some rain with the cloud though, we missed all the heavy downpours predicted yesterday :(
-
Not bad at all, warm with light clouds in a blue sky. Doesn't feel thundery either.
-
Dull, grey, relatively mild, not raining at the moment. Just being Scottish, really... :D
-
Misty and grey. No breeze and cooler than it has been. Humid, and the amount of "drizzle" we have had really has only settled the dust.
-
Just the odd sprinkle of the wet stuff, nothing to write home about. No thunder or lightning either. Today has been overcast but they're still on the beaches and in the sea.
-
Today it's grey skies with a much cooler breeze.
-
All change: grey, much cooler and a bit of rain (so far)
-
Overcast and a blissfully cool 23C. :D
-
Overcast and a blissfully cool 23C. :D
It would be lovely if we could actually catch some of the rain that keeps being forecast, though *sigh*
To me a cloudy day, without rain, seems wasted somehow
-
Steady rain overnight and up until about 2 pm. Now it's really bright but too late to do anything.
-
Grey skies, cool and the occasional drizzle.
-
We've had nearly an inch of rain so far and it's still raining ... enough is enough!
-
We had 20 minutes of drizzly type rain yesterday. Not enough to do any good. Hot and humid yet again.
-
We've had about 40mm of rain in the last couple of days but hope for a dry afternoon before the next lot arrives. Quite cool too.
-
It's a breezy 22C with blue sky, and then clouds - rinse and repeat.
Although some of the clouds are quite dark, we've had no rain at all, so far..
-
Not a bad day still very warm :)
-
Early rain yesterday then sunshine which carried on today. I was hoping the rain would have lowered the pollen level but no chance.
-
And it's chucking it down again and looking at the size of the puddles it has been for a while. I'll stay indoors today I think.
-
Same here wighty good for the gardens :)
-
Cool, overcast but dry at the moment although it looks like more rain approaching from the south.
-
Much needed rain bucketing it down since before I got out of bed.
-
Yesterday it rained most of the day until about 4pm, the it was nice and so I got quite a bit done outside.
Today and all last night it is rain, 18/19c, winds SSE.
-
The forecast was for a heavy shower and the sky was black from about 11am, with a few spits, but the sky is lightening now - so we missed it again *sob*
More showers are forecast for later, but I'm not holding my breath ::) 19C and a nice breeze otherwise.
-
grey, 20c inds SW and gusting to 43. But I am sure lots of you are having a really bad time. Hope not.
-
It's grey, sometimes dark grey, warm 21C but blowing a hooley, gusts up to 40mph.
I've had to shut the greenhouse doors, and hold them shut with cramps, but that won't help the mildew on the grapevine at all, will it? ::)
-
20c, white sunshine, gusting up to 43.Was very near sea today, so decided to go for a walk along greensward.
Couldn't stand up, and glasses and the rest of me covered in salt from the high tides. Gave it up.
-
Mild, overcast and very windy. Intermittent bursts of rain.
-
It's mad here - strong winds but warm, sunny one moment and showery the next. Everything battened down so hope we'll be OK,
-
Very windy but no rain. We were really surprised to see some wind kite surfers at Brook as only last month the wind which was less than it was today had picked someone up and slammed him into the cliff face at the same place.
-
Monsoon-type rain but quite mild and calm
-
We had 4mm of rain yesterday evening and 1mm early this morning - every little helps, so they say! It's bright this morning and 19C, but you need a cardi because of the 'strong breeze'.
My tall dahlias look as if a tornado passed through them, stems bent over in all directions :( Best find some strong canes and try to sort them out, then...
-
Sunny periods, warm but still have the strong winds. My dahlias are all over the shop as well. Had to pick most of them this morning.
-
Well here we go, high winds and driving rain. Not too hot at 15ºC either :(
Happily everything was battened down last night so no flying greenhouses.
-
Woke up to gentle rain and now the wind is getting up
The home greenhouse doors are clamped shut, so fingers crossed. The plastic was barely on the allotment frame after last weeks storm and the forecast today is for stronger wind gusts ...
Good luck everybody and stay safe.
-
Wet, windy and only 10 degrees at 9.00 in Glasgow today.
:(
-
The rain has stopped and it is looking brighter. But at only 18c and 56 mph gusts it doesn't feel warm. Also it is actually like a very long continual gust ::)
-
Rain overnight, now sunny and very gusty.
-
Dull with occasional rain this morning, then a spell of sun and blue skies, now gone overcast again. Wind's not been too bad. Having said that, our place is far more sheltered than where we used to live before where it's probably blowing a hoolie now! .
-
It's like March, this morning - 16C, bright blue sky, scudding clouds with wind still gusting 34mph'
Crashing pots woke me in the night - some terracotta ones by the front door were blown over and smashed. :( The begonias which were in them, weren't much better, so I've some clearing up to do :(
-
It is like that here Mum, a fortunate thing about being so deaf (and there are not many !) is that night-time no hearing aids, cannot hear anything !! Lots of clearing up for me too.
-
Yesterday we had an inch of rain and wind gusting up to 33mph - don't think that really warranted yellow Met Office warnings all day for both wind and rain (they will surely be increasingly ignored if they use them as a convenient way to cover their backs against another 'Michael Fish incident.')
Today, calm, 18C, bright(-ish.)
-
It was awful here - 70mm of rain in a day, really strong winds and just going up to the hens was enough to soak me.
They decided to go to bed early .. can't say I blame them!
-
Lovely day down here in Pencoed John. The wind dropped overnight and we have a nice, warm, sunny day.
-
Lovely day down here in Pencoed John. The wind dropped overnight and we have a nice, warm, sunny day.
Shhh - place will be over run with tourists! :D Just keep telling them it's awful in Wales
-
Nice day here, the wind is dropped, it's warm rather than hot.
-
Breezy but warm. The beaches were packed again today especially as the tide was in so not much beach left for them to sit on. Roll on Monday about 4pm when the Island goes back to 'normal' (hopefully) as we have always noticed this as a 'cut off' point. At least this year we haven't got any of those noisy scooters clogging the place up this weekend.
-
It's been a reasonable day - bit of spitting and occasional breeze but not too bad around 18ºC. The ground is sodden - the field to the back of the house is draining through the retaining wall and it's still pouring out now. Down towards the coast a lot of fields are flooded.
More rain due in late tonight through tomorrow... :(
-
It's rained every day except Monday this week and the forecast is for more rain today and tomorrow. It's wet underfoot.
-
I wish we could have some of your rain here in Kent, Christine. There's a chance of a shower later, but we really need a good drenching, here, 'cos the soil is like concrete still.
It's 15C now but earlier this morning, it was a bit of a shock to the system when I opened the door.. soo needed a thin jumper rather than just a t-shirt ::)
-
We had about 3mm overnight but there's a big angry rainband about to hit. Is it time to build a boat? :)
-
17c and feels chilly. Just starting to rain again.
-
It was breezy overnight as some pots were blown over again, luckily no smashed ones this time, and we has 2mm of rain.
It's sunny now and 16C and it looks fairly calm as well :)
-
Cool - 12ºC :(
Wet - we've had 23mm rain in the last 24 hours :(
Little breeze and low cloud, so living in a misty grey bowl :(
Overall, today's a 3 sad smiley day
-
We had torrential storms yesterday teatime. Today mad showers, but not too bad in between.
-
Tipped it down all day yesterday. Today is cool and on and off showers.
-
This morning was quite nice. Went for my walk because heavy rain forecast for this afternoon. Glad I went, it is pouring down now. I was so cold yesterday, that even with 3 layers on, I switched the CH on for an hour.
It was very comforting and if the house is damp, I think it will have helped. Mrs B
-
It was breezy overnight as some pots were blown over again, luckily no smashed ones this time, and we has 2mm of rain.
It's sunny now and 16C and it looks fairly calm as well :)
We've had sunshine, then heavy showers, some were thundery, then a sunny patch then more showers since about 11am. Gave up with the washing in/out, in/out, in the end I brought it in and left it all on the airer ::)
-
Poured this afternoon with thunder and lightening thank goodness we were home :)
-
Been a nasty, cold, damp day but tomorrow should be better according to the forecast. Can but hope!
-
It must be a bank holiday ::)
It's 14C, grey, drizzly, with a 'strong NNW breeze' gusts of 19mph.
In other words thoroughly miserable :(
-
Bright, breezy and perfectly warm in the sun.
-
Not to bad here just a bit breezy glimpses of sun now and again :)
-
12C, quite strong NW breeze giving a 'feels like' of 9C.
Looks like a few showers not far away coming across from the North Sea, and overnight temperatures are forecast to be in single figures.
Not nice, although at least I'm not having to pretend I'm having a nice time at the seaside! ::)
-
Very windy and freezing cold! 🥶😡
-
Just 15c at the moment with cold NNW winds blowing. I have just ordered 2 pairs of fleece lined trousers to wear in the house !!!
-
Just 15c at the moment with cold NNW winds blowing. I have just ordered 2 pairs of fleece lined trousers to wear in the house !!!
I think I'll need fleece pyjamas soon! I woke in the night with feet like blocks of ice as I still only had a sheet and the summer bedspread over me  I rummaged in the cupboard and found the duvet, that's now out of summer retirement.
It's very grey and only 13C outside, now, with that strong NW breeze making it feel much colder  Friday's forecast was very wrong ::)
-
Another 'March' day - 14C with sunny patches and a Northerly breeze, which makes it feel nippy.
Overnight low of 9C in the greenhouse brr..
-
It was cold in the night, but today it is a little warmer at about 17c. The wind in WNW not very fierce but enough to notice it !
-
Lovely day for gardening not to hot or to cold, we got a lot done 19 degrees :)
-
Pleasant when the sun is out, but as soon as it clouds over it's nippy. Heating on tonight :(
-
And the sun finally made it at about 2pm. Back into shorts, lots of gardening to do :)
-
Down to 9C overnight in the greenhouse, 22C in there now 8)
Just 16C outside now, but bright and sunny without much breeze, so warming up quite quickly.
Rain is forecast for later, so best get on this morning.... after I've had another cuppa :D
-
After a couple of nice days spent inside on the computer (grrrr) the weather has changed here today. Cold, breezy and raining.
<sigh>
-
18c the met office tells me, doesn't feel like it !, breezy and no sunshine.
-
Started out bright and pleasant, started raining about an hour ago.
-
The rain came earlier than predicted and the poor sod fitting smart meters has to do the gas outside in the wet.
-
Grey and drizzling this morning. Not warm as such, but not cold. It is not inspiring me to go outside, that is for sure ::)
-
Today we have thick cloud and a 'fresh' breeze, 16C but feels much cooler . The forecast is for rain later, but I'll believe it when I see it!
I don't fancy going outside either NS ::)
-
Another grey day, just the occasional glimpse of some brightness, but nothing to write home about. ::) No rain either, so far..
-
Mostly clear skies, not particularly warm.
-
Light cloud, very light breeze and only 14C - though forecast is to warm up a tad - we'll see ::)
-
The overnight low in the greenhouse was 7C.
Our weather forecasts last night said that the cloud, coming from the NW wouldn't reach East Anglia or the SE.
Guess what? It did ::)
It's just managed to get up to 17C and the breeze is decidedly cool, not nice at all ..
-
Grey and drizzling.
-
14ºC, light breeze, spitting and drizzle. Not the September I was hoping for!
-
Finally - the forecast looks decent for a week here! :)
Cool, dry, no wind - YES!
-
It is sunny and warm here today, but we had autumnal mist first thing, just to remind us it is not really summer
-
Same here, nights are beginning to be quite cool here - the tomatoes in the greenhouse definitely know it's Autumn ::)
-
Still Summer here.
-
Hot sunshine, a tiny breeze here and there.
-
Hot and airless. :(
-
Hot and airless. :(
It's like that in the polytunnel but rather nice outside here - might pop down to the beach and watch the sea in a bit :)
-
Hot and overcast. Not the most pleasant of days.
-
30.7 C here today. Quite warm ::)
-
Hot and airless. :(
It's like that in the polytunnel but rather nice outside here - might pop down to the beach and watch the sea in a bit :)
That sounds a lovely idea, it's hot here :)
-
Just after I posted earlier.. clouds came over with drop in temperature.. not so nice but still, it didn't rain.
-
Warm sunshine again here today :)
-
Not as hot as yesterday thankfully, it's September, I want it to cool down now!
-
A few spits and spots earlier on but warm now. I'd like it to cool down as well as my hayfever is usually beginning to disappear by now but I'm still on full medication.
-
It is raining heavily now, and will keep doing so for the next 24 hours, courtesy of the remnants of Tropical Storm Sally.
-
Still lovely weather but we do need some rain :) :)
-
Just look at weather going down hill next week going colder and rain :)
-
Fog this morning; supposed to be better later in the way of sunny like yesterday. Rain would be welcome.
-
At around 8:00 last night, the rain from remnants of tropical storm Sally finally stopped after dropping 4.66 inches of rain (per local weather station). There was some quite hard rain in there, but a lot of it at the beginning and end was a steady slow soak.
We fared better than other places, Orange Beach, Alabama had a devastating 29.99 inches of rain over a 3-day period.
-
... We fared better than other places, Orange Beach, Alabama had a devastating 29.99 inches of rain over a 3-day period.
That's incredible - must have caused some bad flooding. Seems that every month we get a 'once in 100 years' weather event.
-
Seems that every month we get a 'once in 100 years' weather event.
You noticed that too, eh? It is probably best not to get me started on climate change, the orange fellow tells us it's a hoax. After a particularly long, hot, and dry heat wave, or a season full of way more tropical storms than we have experienced before, I have been known to remark to Mrs. Subversive "just think how bad this would have been if climate change was real!"
There certainly was some devastating flooding in coastal Alabama, Florida and Mississippi. Some from rain, but also from storm surge.
-
Clear, dry morning. Just walked dog on the beach, lovely start to the day. They are threatening the South coast with rain towards the end of the week but I will believe it when it arrives.
-
Another lovely day out there! Still insisting the rain arrives Tuesday here - usually a safe bet that it will rain in NW Wales!
Lots to do out there..
-
A lovely sunny day here as well, provided you can keep out of the chilly NE wind !
-
Warm and breezy today, sadly stuck inside all day!
-
Been up to 19C today with plenty of sunshine, but one of those when there's a huge difference in temperature depending on whether you're in or out of the sun and breeze.
-
That was true here, as well - lovely in the greenhouse, not so nice outside in the wind ::)
-
Started spitting earlier but came to nothing. The wind has got up. I don't think this better weather is going to last much longer.
-
Overcast with spits of drizzle. Looking at forecast - we'll stay overcast without the drizzle from mid morning.
-
Lovely start to the day here - sunny and bright. No rain until Tuesday by all accounts, either :)
-
it was a bit breezy first thing yesterday, but settled down into warm and very pleasant sunshine. I spent all afternoon on the plot :D
Today is looking good as well so far :)
-
Plot visit today in the sunshine, but wasn't so warm out of the sun and in the breeze. Back home in the garden, in the lee of the hedge, it's lovely 8)
-
Feels like the first day of autumn, just a bit early! Sunny, high 22 C, low 12 C tonight, it will stay this way, or slightly warmer, into October.
It is a big improvement over last year, when we had 38 C in early October!
-
Chucked it down half way through the afternoon for about ten minutes but otherwise warm and bright. Nice out of the wind but the 'shower' put us off finishing mowing the lawns.
-
Bright and warm today, though I note that night time temps are set to drop from Wednesday onwards to 7c here so I'll be clearing most of the sensitive stuff up in a few days.
-
Beautiful day :)
-
Bit misty first thing. Then sun and no breeze. They are threatening rain later in the week, we need it.
-
10C in the greenhouse overnight, 14C outside now. Bright and sunny so best make the most of today - before the weather changes :)
-
Another love;ly morning a bit chilly this morning, sunshine and blue sky's, all change tomorrow :)
-
Went down hill this afternoon cloudy and windy :)
-
Warm and sunny day but already the temperature has plummeted.
-
Grey, cool and breezy - now it's drizzling. :(
It looks like autumn has well and truly arrived - still, we had a nice period before which was cheery.
-
It's raining, not heavy but real, actual rain.
-
Yep we have rain too GraciesGran - most welcome it is too.
-
We also have rain smells lovely and fresh outside :)
-
Tipping down and blowing gale. Neighbours wheelie bin just blown across the road. Rain yes, wind no thanks.
-
It's raining, not heavy but real, actual rain.
Our turn this morning, enough to flood the front path, and I haven't complained about that for months :D
!3C with few blue bits showing, so thinks that's it for now..
-
Rain on and off for the last 24 hours but it's the sudden drop in temperature that's most caught me out. Brass monkeys!
-
It was supposed to rain bucket loads all day from 11 am this morning according to the Met Office online. - However it's turned out to be bucket loads when it feels like it but the temperature forecast is right - darned cold.
-
Cold and wet here as well. Thermals on. Mrs Bouquet
-
Paul's been at work on the other side of the Island from me at home. He's had heavy rain, hail and wind. I've had one ten minute shower that barely wetted the path. Typical of the Island.
-
Windy
-
Wet and chilly 8C, the worst of the windy weather hasn't arrived yet, but is beginning to pick up.
I'll be out to batten down the hatches once I've drunk my tea ::)
-
Shirebrook, windy bright and dry and phone says 8c
-
Sunny spells, scudding clouds, chilly .. very chilly. Still damp from yesterday's rain, too.
-
Some sunshine some clouds, cold wind. Very heavy rain last night, and condensation on the windows this morning.
-
Very chilly and breezy. The waves are certainly larger than we've seen recently. Time to get out the thicker clothes and for the first time for a few months to open the sock drawer! :D
-
My goose pimples have goose pimples from the wind chill.
-
I've given in and put the c/heating on; even with socks and thick cardi, I was still cold in this old house.
Hasn't been above 11C all day and tomorrow looks the same in the forecast.
-
Suns been out all afternoon, but jolly chilly in the wind, our c/h came on ,on it's own. we even wore a jacket to go go for our walk, that's not good news :(
-
Today it's glorious sunshine but rather chilly in the shade.
-
Still cold wet and windy again!
-
Not as cold as yesterday, breeze has dropped considerably. Spent most of the day in the greenhouse clearing it out so protected from the chill. Not looking forward to the temperature tonight which is predicted to go as low as 3 degrees.
-
Grey, cold and windy. Husband away so I might be forced to put the heating on - the dog is getting old and tells me she feels the cold!
-
Today it's glorious sunshine but rather chilly in the shade.
Ditto!
-
We've just had a walk along the beach it was lovely in the sunshine 17 deg's today :)
-
It was cold damp and miserable this morning, but the sky cleared at lunchtime and once the sun got going it was quite warm enough on the plot 18C :D
-
Cold this morning early doors, warm later in the sunshine.
-
11C overnight and 14C now, with grey sky and a light breeze. It'd dry now but more rain forecast for this afternoon.
The runner beans are liking all the rain we've had lately, I'm picking a good late crop from the garden wigwam :)
-
Grim and drizzly at the moment, heavier rain forecast this afternoon.
-
Cold, blowing hard and lashing down, and I am freezing.
-
It's turned cold here as well, Mrs B, and I'm just going to put the heating back on ::)
-
Quite chilly and raining here. More of the same forecast for tomorrow.
Great! That means the 3 layers of carpet down at the plot will be sodden... :(
-
The BBC said this morning the rain would get to us at 11am, well it was 20 minutes late and hasn't stopped since. Interesting drive along the Military Road this afternoon getting buffeted by the wind in unprotected areas. Temperature dropping very quickly.
-
Heavy rain forecast from 1100 onwards today, but only had a couple of millimetres here.
Forecast more accurate in other respects - very dark here in Sheffield at 2026! 8) ;)
-
13C, grey and damp (7mm of rain overnight) with a gusty breeze :(
-
rain all afternoon and evening to day blue sky and sunshine :)
-
Rain been thundering down since 4.00 when it woke me, wind not too bad.
-
Rain been thundering down since 4.00 when it woke me, wind not too bad.
Same here Gracies Gran :)
-
09:30, blowing a hooly and raining like the divvil.
I'm locking myself in the shed for the rest of the dayl! :D
Cheers, Tony.
-
11C and persisting down, gutters overflowing and path flooded again ::) Not very windy right now, though, so hope it stays that way..
-
Beautiful sunshiny morning but it started with a hard frost. Just going to hang the washing out........
-
About the same as Mum, gutters overflowig, patio flooded, A wash-out. Oh, now the sun has come out !
-
When We got up at 6.30am it was really windy and chucking it down. Both were a bit worried as we knew we had six sheets of 8ft xx 4ft glass being delivered today and were not looking forward to carrying that down to our shed at the back of the shop. By the time we got to work it had stopped raining and the wind had gone away. It's beginning to pick up again now though and it has been spitting on and off since about 4pm.
-
Constant rain all day. Nice to hear it against the window while I was busy packing.
-
Not stopped all day, we've had an inch of rain, so far today.
-
It's grey and calm, so far. A bit chilly at 11C and we've had 1/2inch of rain already.
Haven't been out yet to open the greenhouse, so don't know the overnight low yet ::)
-
Today is set for solid rain, building wind and definitely no blue bits in the sky. Reading around 10ºC
-
As yesterday, at 4.8mm nowhere near as much rain as forecast although we might not have seen the last of it yet today...
-
Wet
-
Guess what we have sunshine after yesterdays disgusting day :D
-
Not rained so far, but ominous clouds now and a few spots.
Please no more, I have water pouring in right across my loft. It is running down every rafter, and internally down my walls. Been up there all night emptying buckets. Expecting roofer later. !
-
Rain all day.
-
Paul's been at work today, West Wight (Freshwater) suffers more than me here in East Wight (Sandown). I've had it dry most of the day whilst he's had rain. It's now drizzling here and we have a flood warning for Yaverland just down the road, from the River Yar. I can understand that as it's the run off from Brading Downs. Paul has before stood on the manhole cover out in our road to hold it down. Not really worried as we have had a few of these warnings before and they have never come to anything.
-
Only 9C this morning :( and we've had 1/2inch of rain already.
The forecast stays the same for the rest of the day, I'm fed up with it now *sigh*
-
Not rained so far, but ominous clouds now and a few spots.
Please no more, I have water pouring in right across my loft. It is running down every rafter, and internally down my walls. Been up there all night emptying buckets. Expecting roofer later. !
What a nightmare! Your insurance firm may be able to offer tradesmen / advice.
-
Wet! Managed to get dog walked before it started.
-
Wet.
Grey.
Miserable.
Again.
-
Disgusting day it hasn't stopped yet and the wind is howling around . it's one of those days we call duvet days
snuggle up and keep warm :)
-
Thank goodness the sun is shining and no rain until about 4 ish. I have a great big hole in my bathroom roof with the new Velux going in. The bigger bedroom one has arrived - the wrong size !
-
Hardly stopped raining today. Yesterday we did have a bit of sunshine very late afternoon, but it rained all day Saturday too.
-
I managed to get to the plot for an hour at 3pm when we had a pleasant break in the clouds. Was forking over some beds as the clouds rolled back over and there were a few spits of rain. Made it home just in time :)
-
Been a pretty wet day here again, hoping it's going to be better than the forecast later in the week.
-
Hopefully the rain will stay away today. Yesterday was definitely spiteful showers.
-
Blue sky, sun shining and a light breeze. Just perfect for me to hang the washing outside when it's ready.
-
Clouded up a bit now. Quite a blustery wind. The roofers are beavering away, so I hope the 1pm rain stays away.
-
Rained all morning, cheered up this afternoon. If you stayed in a sheltered s pot the sun was lovely and warm. There is still some wind though.
-
Low of 6C overnight in the greenhouse, 9C now :( but bright and sunny :)
It's weird because my windows look as if they are steamed up, but it's on the outside
-
It is sunny and bright until about. Which is good as the roofer is cementing in the very top ridge tiles today !
-
Only 7C this morning, cold, grey and damp :(
Down to 4C last night but luckily the dahlias didn't get frosted :)
-
Chilly in the wind but sheltered warm and bright. Clouded over this afternoon but nothing happened.
-
Down to 4C overnight in the greenhouse and 9C outside now, nice and sunny but there's a cold NW wind to spoil it Brrr! If it warms up later I might get some digging done, all the rain has softened the
concrete soil.
-
Cold enough for the heating to click on first thing. Just walked dog and it's glorious, going to take my coffee and wander round the garden.
-
Blue skies and sunny but a bit nippy still.
-
It is a bit grey here today and we have occasional showers. It is not really cold as such, just not very pleasant :(
-
As the forecast, rain now. and a little bit chilly.
-
A low of 9C overnight, it's 9C outside now and it's forecast to stay the same all day ::)
It rained most of the night, it's raining now, and yes you guessed what comes next....
There's not much breeze but what there is is coming from the N/NE so there's cold in it. All in all not a day for gardening
-
Second day of rain. Quack.
-
A low of 8C last night, 11C now.
About 20 minutes ago I was drinking my coffee/reading my book in the greenhouse and it was 28C in the sunshine. It started raining and the temp quickly went down to 16C, so I'm now back indoors again!
I'm glad I'm not a plant ::)
-
Very sunny this morning, I was working half-in half-out of the greenhouse, got hot and had to peel my warm sleeveless fleece. :)
-
Grey and gloomy, no wind to speak of but a day for sitting on the sofa with a book.
-
It started out nice yesterday, but got very cloudy later. I was up on the plot watching to see if I was going to get rained on, but it stayed dry.
Today is mild, but overcast again. It is not bad outside, but some sun would be nice ::)
-
Bright, dry and mild. Looks dry for a few days so I can finally get some weed killer on the overgrowth in the front and back gardens.
-
Put on my waterproof jacket because the sky looked ominous, and walked up the hill to get my flue jab, by the time I'd walked back I was dripping inside the jacket, but the outside was dry...
Sky still looks like rain but it's quite mild if you are out of the cold breeze :)
-
It was lovely this morning this afternoon rather chilly and cloudy :)
-
Must be a south coast thing, lovely this morning, clouded over at lunch time and then a few spits and spots of rain about tea time.
-
More of the same here again today. Cloudy but fairly mild.
Not bad but a bit nothingy ::)
-
A bit grey now, but has been sunny, no breezes at all and forecast good for a couple of days.
-
Rain overnight. Dry and bright now but a bit breezy. The sea is a bit rougher today than it has been.
-
Tipping down here, but not windy. It seems we have got the rain, but not the storm so far.
-
Overcast and drizzly.
-
Tipping down here, but not windy. It seems we have got the rain, but not the storm so far.
We've also go the rain, the gutters are overflowing, it's coming down so fast! The wind has just started whistling down the chimneys - I'm hoping that's just because of a change in direction ::)

More just steady and persistent here Mum. Seems the eye of the storm is more easterly than me.
I recommend a nice cup of tea and a seed catalogue or three :)
-
Tipping it down but not too windy. A day for the settee.
-
Pouring overnight and until 11am ish. None since then, but not very nice, not so cold though.
-
Rain all day mostly & not really got light
-
It rained overnight again, but it cleared away this morning, so I got some time in the greenhouse. This afternoon, I forked over half of this year's pumpkin bed. In the sunshine, with the work, I was warm enough to take off my fleece 17C :)
-
Right now it's blue sky but quite fresh but I know that if I put the washing out on the line, it will cloud over again and start to rain. It's already been outside once today for a grand total of 15 minutes!
-
Mizzily-drizzily all morning but now the sun's woken up.
-
It's grey and drizzly plus the wind is getting up. Not nice at all, 11C feeling quite chilly :(
-
Storming here - wind & horizontal rain, about an inch so far :(
-
Very grey but dry first thing. Just made it back from the plot in time as it is now drizzling and the wind is picking up.
-
It is nasty.
-
It keeps going dark and I get up and put the light on. The tree over the road starts waving around and we get a few drops of rain. After five minutes it all stops and goes back to normal. Half an hour later it all starts again. I do wish it would make it's mind up. :)
-
Filthy weather wind and rain >:(
-
Well I got my wish. It's now blowing fully out there and rain is lashing the house and we keep loosing the TV signal (it had better not interrupt Strictly)! We've had to turn the sound up as it really is whistling round the house.
-
There is sunshine, blue sky and fluffy white clouds at the moment, but everything is very wet after the deluge yesterday. It absolutely lashed it down here as the evening wore on yesterday. Today all change again
-
We had the rain last night as well ::)
It's calm and we have blue patches of sky atm, but the forecast is for blustery, heavy rain showers throughout the day.
It's persisted down for the last couple of hours :(
-
Lovely start, was out for a couple of hours with the dog. Pouring down now and very windy - seed catalogues and tea!
-
The wind has calmed down now but when it rains it really rains. Short (thankfully) showers but at least half an hours worth in about five minutes. The sun looks bright, it's not too cold but I only went half way down the garden to the compost bin.
-
More rain overnight, and a low of 6C in the greenhouse.
It's a calm 8C outside now with sunshine and blue sky - looks lovely through the window ::)
-
About the same here. Blue sky and calm, but a bit nippy when you get out there.
-
It's been raining from the early hours and doesn't look like stopping all day - looking at the forecast.
6C overnight in the greenhouse and only 7C outside now.
Typical ::) I waited in for a parcel all day yesterday, when I could have been at the plot - today no chance because of the weather :(
-
heavy rain and chilly. forecast same all day.
-
Drizzly and a bit chilly outside.
-
Wet, windy and chilly. Paul's coming home the long way as his drive along the Military Road (road up the west coast of the Island) was in his words 'interesting'. It's not very protected along there so if the wind is strong you can feel it in the van. We have been blown onto the other side of the road before now so I'd rather he is later home.
-
Horrible day rain rain and more to come :)
-
Set and windy. Took dog out and got soaked. Went to the chemists and got soaked. Staying in for the rest of the day.
-
Mostly just wet and windy but we had hail a little while ago  Don't suppose the dahlias will have liked that! Time to lift them I think ::)
-
We have had sunny spells until about 2.30pm, then it clouded over and it suddenly got very grey, the wind picked up and we had mad rain and hail.
Now just steadily raining :(
-
A few showers today, temperature struggled into double figures and now falling again - breeze from the SW but didn't feel like it was coming from that direction when I went for a short walk in a local park this afternoon! :nowink:
-
another awful day
-
Turned colder today. A few short showers but nothing major.
-
The weather here is decidedly odd for late October, very humid, 23 C, and dead calm now at 9:40 p.m.
By 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, the forecast calls for a steady wind at 40 miles per hour, with gusts to 67 miles per hour, courtesy of Tropical Storm Zeta.
-
It's grey and overcast, cool and brewing for rain.
-
It's grey and overcast, cool and brewing for rain.
The same here :(
-
Pretty ‘orrible here :(
Raining steadily and has been all morning so far. Breezy as well so it does a good job of making sure you get a thorough watering ::)
-
Same as New Shoot. :(
-
Tropical Storm Zeta was not as bad for us as forecasted. We had a little high wind, but it was gusts of 40 miles per hour, rather than sustained wind that high. Power is still on, no trees down at our house, though my neighbor lost a tree, and lost her power (power company is already there, making repairs).
It was 22 C at 7:00 a.m., very breezy, very humid, but only occasional light rain. We could have more wind around mid-day.
-
Same here :(
-
Ill come back and tell you when the weather gets drier ...
-
Well the wet stuff is not coming down out of the sky (at the moment). Not holding my breath as the weather forecast is for more of it later. The wind seems to have dropped as well.
-
Well the wet stuff is not coming down out of the sky (at the moment). Not holding my breath as the weather forecast is for more of it later. The wind seems to have dropped as well.
The wind is beginning to get up here, so I haven't opened the greenhouse doors this morning - but at 15C I really should ::)
-
Not a bad day warm this morning and dry but this afternoon it was back again :)
-
Well the wet stuff is not coming down out of the sky (at the moment). Not holding my breath as the weather forecast is for more of it later. The wind seems to have dropped as well.
Well we got to work in the dry and then the heavens opened but only with that fine stuff that makes you wetter. The wind did also then pick up. I'm not looking forward to the forecast for tomorrow afternoon as it sounds (if you believe the telly) is terrible. I don't have to go out now for four days so I'm hunkering in. The only reason to go out if is I need something from the freezer.
-
So far it is grey and breezy with mizzly drizzly rain. Not the most inspiring start ::)
-
Late on parade today, I heard the wind in the chimneys and turned over for another hour (or 2  )
Clouds are blowing over at speed and although it is very mild, I can't open the greenhouses because of the wind *sigh*
-
Guess what it's raining again, at least the lawns have been cut and garden almost put to bed for a little while :)
-
Sun is out now, but everywhere is waterlogged. Very strong gusts.
-
Another wet, windy and thoroughly depressing day :(
-
Another wet, windy and thoroughly depressing day :(
We had much the same. It did stop raining in the middle of the day, but has started again on and off now ::)
-
Paul announced at 9.30 this morning that we were going to Southsea to meet up with youngest daughter and our lovely Granddaughter. Spent a lovely time walking along the front so Isla could play with her scooter. It was very windy but dry. Started to spit so we came back and went in the arcade. Gave Isla a pot full of two pences and played on the machines. The rain then started in earnest and is still going now. We couldn't see a thing on the Hovercraft and just had to hope the Captain knew where he was going as it was really murky.
-
We couldn't see a thing on the Hovercraft and just had to hope the Captain knew where he was going as it was really murky.
Looking forward to your next post more than usual Wighty! ;)
-
Not too much rain here but the wind is up now.
-
Another wet, windy and thoroughly depressing day :(
Same again... I'm really getting fed up with it now :(
-
Very windy, Compton was full of kite surfers this afternoon. Just the odd spit and spot of rain but nothing really worth mentioning.
-
First frost of the season and a lovely sunny morning :)
-
First frost of the season and a lovely sunny morning :)
Same here, quite thick on the grass and the very tops of the Dahlias have been caught :(
-
Really cold when I went out this morning, first frost of the season here too.
-
Very slight frost here but otherwise a bright sunny day but not very warm.
-
The fog is just thinking of clearing a bit. There's a yellow fog warning here.
-
No lovely sunshine today, and because of the cloud-cover, although it was colder last night the frost was lighter.
Just 5C now.
-
Sunshine, blue skies, gentle breeze. Shame it's only about 5ºC but that's what the thermals are for :)
-
Mild and sunshine :D
-
Another blue skies, calm but cold start to the day :)
-
Same here, but the sun is out and warming things up slowly :)
-
Same here, but the sun is out and warming things up slowly :)
Same here, just had a coffee in the toasty greenhouse, now gearing up for a plot visit. Might not get much done as it's soaking wet underfoot, but at least I'll stretch my legs
-
It is very good today, the sun actually feels warm on my back. Mrs B
-
Warm today but very overcast low cloud all day :)
-
It was lovely early this morning and was hoping for a repeat of yesterday, but by the time I had hung the washing out, it had clouded over and cooled down :( So was just potting in the garden.
Now it has started spitting with rain. I was hoping for a few dry days to dry the lawn out so I could cut it, Oh well ::)
-
The mist hasn't cleared all day, bordering on fog really. Still and not too cold so all in all quite a typical November day. I've enjoyed it :D
-
Fog descended this afternoon and then the murk remained. Cool and a bit rubbish.
-
This morning it's grey and damp, but was mild all night 11C and this morning 13C.
-
The sky has dribbled all day so damp, wet and miserable.
-
A filthy afternoon we got soaked while out for our walk, couldn't make it this morning
-
Pouring rain off and on, courtesy of Tropical Storm ETA. Temperature 24C.
Not too windy yet, the eye of the storm is far to the south, on the west side of Florida.
-
Weather today was very windy with rain on and off. Pretty cold, especially when in the wind.
-
After rain last night, it is sunny today, a bit windy. Clouds forecast later.
-
Yes it's windy, but we are getting spells of sunshine as the wind blows the clouds over so quickly. So nice and warm in the greenhouse :D
-
It has been a bit of a mix here all day. We have had heavy cloud and drizzly mizzly rain, then spells of bright sunshine. It has been breezy as well.
-
Down to 8C overnight in the g/house. now outside it's 14C and back to mizzle and general murk, still a fair SW breeze , so perhaps it'll blow over..
-
Tipped it down early this morning but it's brightened up since. At least the wind has died down.
-
Colder but some blue in the sky and it's not raining. The wind has calmed too after yesterday's blow.
-
It was rainy first thing, then still and sunny, now cloudy and the wind is picking up again.
-
We had a steady drizzle until midday and it's been pleasant since then. Not looking forward to the weekend if, for once, they've got the forecast right.
-
well its not been to bad here we had some rain throughout the night not to much and then it cleared up
to be a bright day not that cold but acceptable for this time of the year ;)
-
Grim today :(
It went from grey and drizzly to steady heavy rain, which according to the forecast, is set in for the weekend ::)
Starting to get windy as well.
-
Wet, breezy and rather dark.
-
Wet, breezy and rather dark.
Same here :)
-
Drizzly, dank and depressing.
-
I'm going up with everyone else, dank, damp and dismal, When it rained , it rained. The wind against the side of the van, it's a high sided one, along the road we travel along every day to get to work , was once again 'interesting'. Buffeted and blown from side to side, it's supposed to get worse tomorrow, thank goodness we don't work on Sundays.
-
Here, we didn't get much rain while it was light, but since teatime it's been persisting down, so hard against the kitchen window it sounded like hail  Plus the wind is beginning to howl down the chimney.
Time for bed with a hot-water bottle I think ;)
-
Been chucking it down since just before midnight. Convinced it sounds worse than it is because of the wind. Extra high tides morning and evening today, threat of flooding.
-
Been chucking it down since just before midnight. Convinced it sounds worse than it is because of the wind. Extra high tides morning and evening today, threat of flooding.
Flooding - That doesn't sound good :( Hope not for you
We seem to be calm at the moment here, calm and not raining but it was. Cool start too at 6ºC
-
John, we're a couple of hundred yards from the coast. Sea water was pouring down the steps that lead up to the beach yesterday. Neighbour has lived here 40 years and never has a problem.
-
John, we're a couple of hundred yards from the coast. Sea water was pouring down the steps that lead up to the beach yesterday. Neighbour has lived here 40 years and never has a problem.
Fingers crossed it carries on problem free! Good luck.
-
The rain woke me up several times in the night and it's still chucking it down :(
Obviously the path along the Terrace is flooded as usual - so it'll be an indoor day for me.
-
It's just absolutely TIPPED IT DOWN here!
-
Wet all night and first thing, then it dried up and we had decent spells of sunshine.
It has been breezy all day, but the wind is picking up again now and it has gone very grey. Something dismal this way comes ... again ::)
-
Heavy overnight rain. Ok Midday, sorted more stuff intoskip. Then, thunder, lightening torrential rain, and it is still lashing down .
-
We've also had the heavy rain, waves lashing against the beach and breaching some of the promenade. Although we live in a 'dip' behind Sandown cliff we don't often suffer with flooding.
-
An overnight low of 5C in the greenhouse. Outside it's 8C now, grey and drizzly with a stiff breeze.
Hoping for a chance to plant the Tulips and Crocus that just arrived ;)
-
Grey and gloomy. Quite mild - a housework day.
-
Grey and overcast, but dry :)
-
It was grey and overcast here as well today, not very cold though but about an hour ago the heavens opened and it is now drizzling.
-
Today, well yesterday now, was horrid. Wind and rain. Went up to the polytunnel and you could hardly hear yourself think for the rain hammering down. Soaked by the time I got back to the house.
-
Windy. Not the weather to take the umbrella out.
-
Not a bad morning quite mild went for long walk this morning, but this afternoon windy and drizzle all afternoon so glad we got our walk in this morning. :)
-
Drizzle on and off all day, but quite mild with it.
-
Nice and sunny but a bit nippy outside.
-
Not bad, cold N/E winds, had to go and untangle washing a few times, but got work done out there. Mrs B
-
Chilly, a few odd showers but still very windy.
-
Touch of frost on the shed roof, clear skies are becoming overcast.
-
Touch of frost on the shed roof, clear skies are becoming overcast.
Same here, -1C here now, but it's due to warm up and start raining within an hour or two ::)
-
Raining quite well now. ::)
-
Rain all day here as well. England was not visible at all today, shrouded in mist.
-
For once it's been dry all day :)
-
Grey and miserably drizzly all day here :(
-
It's been dry all day as well here but still dank and miserable.
-
The last few days have been horrible weather but we've been redecorating the office inside. That's a job and a half finished!
-
Calm, grey and miserable, but at least it stayed dry :)
-
Miserable, dark, dank and damp. That horrible drizzly rain and then a sudden swoosh of a heavier shower. I really wanted to put some stuff that should be stored i n the greenhouse overwinter today, but just could n ot be bothered.
-
Not very warm, grey, November. In a word - what we should expect.
-
Not very warm, grey, November. In a word - what we should expect.
Exactly the same here - strange that :nowink:
-
Heavy fog and frost on the roof and cars this morning. Brass monkeys out.
-
Clear skies and a good frost. One degree C earlier.
-
We had a big project on at job no. 2 yesterday, so finally emerged at 1am to find I had to scrape my car windows
That is the first time this winter so far. Note to self - get de-icer today
Today is overcast and but not that cold now. Just a bit cheerless and grey.
-
Bitterly cold today >:(
-
Crisp, cold with blue skies and fluffy white clouds heading inland :)
-
Miserable grey again, 9C, so not too cold and calm, drizzle just started now, as I type, though :(
-
Overnight rain, stopped but I think only temporarily. It is very grey and not nice at all.
-
It's drizzled on and off all day. The day has gone dark, light, dark, light and we had tried to judge what would happen. We never got it quite right!
-
Miserable grey again, 6C, no frost because of the drizzle, and breeze has changed, now from the North - so not nice for a walk :(
-
Dense fog and absolutely blooming freezing!
-
It's mid day and the frost has barely made an attempt to lift.
-
We had the thick fog as well, but it has now cleared and the sun is out, lovely blue sky :) So I had a wander on the way to get my paper, rather than straight there and back. Didn't see many people out and about though..
-
The sun has been shining and I have been working outside. v pleasant.
-
Beautiful day just like a spring day, we've also been working in garden plus gone for a very long walk down to the beach :D
-
Very dark, cold and drizzly all day today :(
-
It has been fairly mild here, but pretty grey and miserable :(
-
We had a fair day, light cloud, little breeze but chilly and damp which is annoying as I really could do with cutting the grass.
-
Rain until after lunch, never really got light but I did go for a walk without getting wet :)
-
Cold grey drizzle :(
-
A misty grey morning, a 'low' of 7C overnight and the same now.
-
Dark, misty and chilly, all day.
-
Still pants!
-
According to Met O it's going to be 6 or 7C all night. If that's right why does the British Rail defroster engine keep going backwards and forwards over the points on the track at the bottom of the garden?
I hope it stops before bedtime, cos it's making quite a racket, even with the double glazing ::)
-
Misty, grey, dank feeling - all in all its bleughhhhhh :(
-
Misty, grey, dank feeling - all in all its bleughhhhhh :(
Also quite chilly ....
:(
-
After a bit of early morning fog the clouds parted and the sun came shining through... a bit windy but I can live with that!
-
Grey!
-
Thick fog this morning and it's never really gone away. We were told it would clear and we would get rain this afternoon, never got that either. It's just stayed grey, cold and miserable.
-
It's even snowing on the forums :)
-
It's even snowing on the forums :)
With the sound of breaking glass baubles :D
-
It's even snowing on the forums :)
With the sound of breaking glass baubles :D
Which deafened me a through my headphones!
-
I didn't know there were sound effects!
-
Second frost of the week. Not effective on the last of the weeds on the plot.
-
I didn't know there were sound effects!
I have just heard a sound effect, and went rushing down the garden, thinking it was the man working down there ::) Mrs Bouquet
The weather is sunny, only 6c, with NNW winds, not too bad out of that wind, but wouldn't like to stay out long.
-
Just a light frost for us this morning but wall to wall sunshine as a bonus!
-
Winter sunshine jolly chilly out there :)
-
As Paul came home from work with a jacket on I take it it's cold out there. I haven't needed to go outside today so can't comment. Otherwise it looks quite bright.
-
Cold 5C, grey and drizzly - heavier rain forecast for later. Not a day for a good walk, then ::)
-
Raining here as well. Quite blustery as well. No plans to step outside today. Got to get the last jumper finished ready to wrap up for later this month.
-
Cold and very wet. Cancelled going out today :( Mrs B
-
Disgusting day it never stopped raining ;)
-
Wet. And looking to continue wet. Haven't checked the boat for seaworthiness should the local river get loose.
-
Disgusting day it never stopped raining ;)
Same here :(
-
It's pretty cold out there tonight with flurries of wet snow - not sticking .. yet
-
Very unusual for me, but for some reason I woke up early and couldn't go back to sleep. I opened the curtains and....
We have a couple of inches of wet snow, as well ::) It's dripping like crazy, so I don't suppose it will last very long.
-
It's dry, bit breezy and even got patches of blue in the sky but rain is on the way according to the weather forecasters. A nice slug and snail killing cold period will be welcome this winter.
-
Wet,drizzly,dark & very cold
-
Very dark and snowing but at 2 degrees it's not even attempting to settle.
-
No snow today but it is bitter in the wind even with my best weather jacket and gloves
-
Bitterly cold here as well, not much fun loading the car up and heading to the tip today.
-
It's pretty cold but at least it's not raining.. yet
Little breeze - which is better than yesterday's cutting wind. :)
-
We had a LOT of rain last night, but this morning it is bright with just the odd cloud, but still feeling cold @ 3C
-
Still raining, still very grey, still cold. :(
-
Milder than the last few days, dry and mostly bright.
-
A few spits and spots of rain but very cold. The wind is very strong and goes right through you. Decided against using the coast road on the way home as it's very unprotected in places.
-
At least it's dry for now but it's very cold - still, better bright and cold than dull and wet.
-
We have the grotty cold and wet again :(
-
Wet. It even started to drip as soon as the carol singers started yesterday.
-
winter sunshine and cold :)
-
Frosty start, but also grey and dank feeling day. We had some afternoon sun, but it was chilly out and you could still feel damp in the air.
-
A calm day with blue sky, but a little chilly. About time it didn't rain for a bit! :)
-
Fog, grey, raining and cold.
-
Misty grey, damp and cold 1.5C :(
-
Foggy and bitterly cold.
-
I spoke too soon - rain showers :(
-
Sharp frost this morning then it turned to rain late afternoon sunshine i can not keep up
-
Cold and foggy all day.
-
Igt's raining. Have I said that before?
-
A misty cold, damp start, but now clear sky. Couldn't feel my feet after walking up for the paper Brrr!
-
After looking at the forecast for today, decided it would be a good washing day. This am, thick fog, but by 10am all gone, so washing done, all dry and now airing off. Had two good walks. Then checked in new "conservatory", it was lovely and warm :)
-
No rain - YET, but very chilly walking back from the shed and with a good chance of frost/fog in the morning.
Cheers, Tony
-
Night time rain has stopped and at 6C it's quite a nice morning. Just starting to get light. (Already been down to the lotty to see if my wood chips have arrived... they have :).. busy day ahead).
-
It's dry and a bit brighter today, enough for me to venture out and see what the overnight low was, 0.02C brr.
Its 3C now and max forecast is 6C.
Thank goodness for thermal socks :)
-
Still grey and mizzly but a couple of degrees warmer at 5C this morning.
-
Little warmer here, around 7ºC but dull, grey and damp.
-
Warmer here, but drizzle and cloudy it could be worse s--w :)
-
The damp today was the sort that penetrates even the best of layers of gardening gear and it wasn't raining. Just cold damp.
-
Dreich just about covers it - wet, cold, cloudy, dark and depressing.
A day to stay in the warm with a book me thinks...
-
Storming but a little warmer - go figure!
-
Another dark day of drizzle and rain, only 4 degrees at the mo but forecast to hit 11 by early evening..
-
Torrential rain at the moment, the knitting wins today lol
-
Wet. Have I said that before?
-
Just popped out from under the duvet to report that it's currently cold, dark, breezy and very wet - BFN  ;)
-
Same weather here, and the forecast for the week to come doesn't look as if it's going to get any better. I don't think there will be a white Christmas somehow.
-
Strangely warm, even for us. High of 21 °C after a low of 12 °C last night, and sunny too. I am not complaining!
We were expecting rain.
More of the same tonight, except rain coming in and colder tomorrow.
-
Very windy overnight (the weather not me!) but it has calmed down now. It feels warm 10C and for now it is calm and bright. Might even get out for a walk if this carries on :)
-
Nice and sunny, 10 to 11 c. Just come in from 90 minutes in the garden tidying up etc. V. pleasant.
-
It's going to be a wet, windy day. I may just head back under the duvet :(
-
It's 8C with some sunny spells, but there is a bitterly cold east wind, that nearly knocked me over when I went to post my cards
-
Cold, raining, windy and dark now, put CH on today at about 2.30pm, I am cold and tired.
-
Cold, wet and windy plus first day back at work after ten days, feel absolutely shattered now.
-
Just went out to the big shed, checking before bed. Oh boy, is it raining! Gutters overwhelmed.
-
We've had rain overnight, but it's cleared away now. A nightime low of 7C and still that now.
Forecast is for SUN ::) and 11C, so might venture to the allotments - probably be too wet to do much - but some fresh air and a change of scenery will be much appreciated :D
-
A low of 6C last night and 9C now. Grey sky with the odd lighter patch, breeze coming and going.
Waiting in for my Christmas Trashco delivery or I'd be on the allotments :(
-
Storming - lots of rain, very dark and windy but warmer than expected at 11ºC
-
windy, but sunny. Ok ish
-
Mild and bright, had a nice walk around town with mandatory sausage rolls from our amazing independant pasty shop.
-
Cold, dark and with very heavy showers - a Welsh summer's day :)
-
So far today it has been mainly heavy rain with occasional hail. Not planning to go out other than stick my nose out the door to see what's going on. Thunder clap at 5 am woke both of us up.
-
It was bright and fairly mild 8C first thing. I was just thinking of going out for a walk round the block as the sky darkened and heavy squally rain started.
Now with some hail in it - oh well! maybe later on then ;)
-
We had heavy rain and hail in the night but it is fairly dry now - apart from the shower when I went up to the chickens <sigh>
They're fed up of lockdown and wet weather too :(
-
They're fed up of lockdown and wet weather too :(
I think we all are tbh
-
Not light yet and raining ... but today's the shortest day :D (solstice is about 10.02 this morning)
-
A low of 5C in the greenhouse overnight and 9C outside now.
Very low cloud and heavy rain, quite gusty at times as well. Not nice at all, glad I don't need to go out for anything, even the cat turned up her nose in disgust and went back to bed :)
-
It's supposed to rain later.
-
Pouring rain, and quite blustery. Glad I went shopping yesterday in the sun.
-
Wet.
-
Rain has not stopped. Varied between heavy and drizzle. Very foggy which was surprising with the amount of wind. Not looking forward to the amber weather warning for Wednesday/Thursday as it's a high tide day.
-
Mostly dry and verging on warm today. Got a bit of a sweat on putting up new fencing today.
-
A low of 12C overnight in the g/house, and about the same outside now.
Make the most of the warmth as it is forecast to be much colder for the end of the week, with winds from the North :(
-
Frost has lifted, sky is blue, the wind is gentle and it's not raining.
-
Very chilly - around 3ºC but it's not raining, little breeze and even patches of blue. :)
-
Grim.
-
Snowing :D but it looks nice when you're just sitting inside in the warm watching it :D
-
Bright but chilly. At least it has stayed dry.
-
It is chilly here, but glorious blue sky and sunshine at the moment. A real bonus for midwinter :)
-
It is chilly here, but glorious blue sky and sunshine at the moment. A real bonus for midwinter :)
Same here, thinking of going for a walk, later, if it stays like this....
-
Cold frosty & bright, walked to sons & back to see the munchkins calling in to wish the chicken girls merry Christmas on the way just going back now to give them there corn , bet it’s even colder as the sun is going now
-
What more could you ask for a beautiful day sunshine all the way, we had a 1- 1/2 hour walk this morning it was great :) HAPPY Christmas every one stay safe :)

It was 'blinking' cold here. But at least it was dry. Storm Bella doesn't sound very nice, but I don't pay much attention now as they are a bit alarmist .
-
It was -1C in the greenhouse overnight and 5C outside now. It was sunny first thing, but it's clouded over now :(
-
Drizzling here. The sea is very rough so it looks as if the weather forecast is on its way.
-
Still bitterly cold here but damp today & a slight mizzle when I went to the chickens which prevented me going for a walk round the site as planned, just in case it turned into more, & of course it didn’t !
-
Chilly first thing, then drizzle mid morning. Now looking grey, but fairly mild out there. It is starting to get blowy though.
Garden plans shelved until after the storm passes :(
-
Bit grim here, not awfully cold but very grey and a little breeze. Awaiting the arrival of storm Bella >:(
-
Raining and feels cold. I can see the wind is beginning to pick up, so I think Bella is on her way.
-
The rain/hail/wind woke me in the night, trying to batter through the windows by the sound of it. Quite calm this morning and it's not raining. Greenhouses both still standing.
-
We actually got a (sort of) white Christmas! It snowed a little on Christmas Eve - just enough to make it lethal! - and a bit more on Christmas morning, but it had disappeared by Boxing Day.
Today had a bit of everything but, as with most days round about now, we needed the lights on for most of the day. It was pleasant and sunny, but only about 2degC around 1-2pm.
-
No snow here but a small chance we'll see a little. I spoke too soon about the greenhouses :( Although both looked OK from the house, when I went out to the hens realised a pane was shattered in the Vitavia. Luckily I had a spare so it's repaired now. Not sure if something blew into it or the wind flexed the frames which stressed the glass. Problem with tempered glass is that when it goes, it's total. A zillion bits of glass to clean up.

Deeply lies the frost, deep and white and even. Not warm.
-
Thick mist and one degree.

Same here. Everything sparkling with a heavy frost. No sign of the predicted snow yet.
-
Hazy sunshine and completely calm here, the greenhouse doors are frozen shut so can't tell how cold it got overnight in there, but it is only 1C outside now. Paths are very slippy though :(
-
When I went to bed at 1am there was a thin layers of wet snow with more lightly falling. All melted away by the morning. My radio weather thingy tells me we've had 9mm of rain in the last 24 hours and it's 1.6ºC out there. Not too much wind by the way the trees are swaying.
-
Was 0.6C a few hours ago, now 0.2C with a 'feels-like' of -3.3C :(
Dull but dry - suppose it would be a bit irresponsible to wish for anything more 'exciting' in the current circumstances.
-
We've got the snow!
-
Cold, especially in exposed areas. Compton Beach had about 40 surfers out this morning at 9 am. Must have been freezing in the water. We have a weather warning on the Island for sleet later.
-
Another silvery frost covering the rooftops and grass this morning.
Birdies massing in the garden when I went out to let the chooks out. I always feed the wild ones as well first thing and I think word has got around. Lots of beedy little eyes watching me today :D

-
Wet hail-like snow, not much of it. Little breeze, just about freezing. Cats sitting on the radiator shelf looking crossly at the weather.
-
-1.5C overnight in the greenhouse, 2C outside now. Brighter today, with some blue sky patches now and again :)
-
We've just been for a lovely long walk down to the beach, rather chilly but lovely all being wrapped up with bonnet scarf and gloves, :)
-
It's just started sleeting here. They did say it was coming. Were very surprised on the way to work today at the speed some vehicles were travelling at as most of our roads are what you on the mainland would call 'country lanes'. Couple of times we felt the van's rear 'twitch' on exposed bits.
-
Yesterday we had snow that had mostly gone by late afternoon although I noticed a tiny blob left on the end of the drive today.
Today a really heavy frost but a bright day throughout with the frost gone after lunch.
-
The greenhouse is still frozen up, but outside temperature is just below zero Brr! Clear skies though :)
-
Not much but pretty all the same
-
A sugaring of snow overnight and a bit more today.
-
Very heavy frost last night. Lots of window condensation and pathetic sunshine. Quite blowy NNW. Don't like it. Mrs B
