Dissertation on allotments, Bristol
« on: December 21, 2021, 21:45 »
Hi all! I hope this is okay to post here. I'm currently conducting a dissertation on the culture of allotments within Bristol. I'm looking at ideas of identity, community and belonging & how these link to the world of allotments! I'm looking for Bristol-based plot holders who are willing to take part in my research. This would consist of a short online survey and then an interview/chat about daily allotment life and your plot! I'm interested in gaining an insight into your world (what you grow, why, what allotmenting means to you etc). If this is something you'd be interested in, please let me know.

I’m sorry, hannahchloe.  We don’t generally allow our forums to be used for research purposes.  We would very quickly become inundated.  But in these uncertain times it’s difficult to do face to face research so, I’ll leave your post here for a while.

Anyone who is interested in helping you will  make contact.

Good luck with your project.

I understand Aunty's point, but hope that you can stick around if you are a gardener!

As you can see, I'm neither from Bristol, nor do I have an allotment. Folks let me play here anyway  :tongue2:

My eldest son lives 8n Bristol;  not an allotmenteer but he has friends who are.  I could ask him to ask them to see about you asking them, if you see what I mean?  But dunno how to do the communication and linking bit.  Got any suggestions.

Hello Yorkie.  I'm at a loss where to find messages, if there are any.  Could you point me to the magic button please?

New member (those with less than 10 posts) cannot use the personal messaging system.  This is for our forum security and our members safeguarding.

But I have added the privilege to your profile so that people can contact you.
