How much was it if you don't mind me asking? And what fish?

Sorry - been a bit bogged down with work for a few days.

The fish is around £7 if you have haddock and I think a little more for cod, but it is massive and generally hangs off the side of your plate.  Not sure on the chips, but again massive portion, hence sharing.  I know you don’t get much change out of £20, so an occasional treat. 

It is always fresh, cooked perfectly and they have quite a big menu, with cheaper meals like battered sausage and pies.  They are generally busy with a queue out the door on Friday and Saturday nights

That's still a good price NS, I think it's about the same up here and the local chippy is so poor I've been in there once in 20 years.  Even those tiny bits of bread cod I buy are nearly 6 quid and if they get any smaller I'll have to start calling them fish fingers.

I managed to do the pizza yesterday - so much better than the frozen stuff I'd been buying, I spoilt things by over eating though and it sat heavy all night.  Sawhedge, mash and onion gravy today, I could really do with something green but all I have are some bendy carrots.

I live inland in East Yorks so it's about £8.50 for cod and chips, and like you say, the portion is big. I paid £11 on the beach in Brid and it was nice but you didnt get much(heard others saying the same)

HM meatballs in hm tomato sauce, spuds and greens.  It was a clean sweep for plot produce with tomatoes, onions and garlic, plus the spuds and greens all home grown

leftover sawhedge and mash. Also found a bag of frozen leeks whilst digging around in the freezer, they count as something green I'll add them to the bendy carrots.

Yesterday, I actually cooked a sausage traybake from scratch.  It was lovely, second half tonight.

So tonight we had for the first time....

Sausage n leek ravioli with passta and of course garlic bread.

It was pretty good.

My fave you tube channel is Pasta Grannies, some great Italian recipes, all made by hand etc.
