I’ve had a pair of goldfinches visiting my bird feeders for some time. They make themselves at home and settle in for a good long time.
They have appeared with 3 youngsters in tow for the last couple of days. At first the kids just sat on top of the feeders waiting to be fed. Today they did eventually work out it was far quicker to help yourself.
It did take a while. They were sitting on the sunflower kernel feeder flapping their wings and begging as if it was going to magically dispense food straight into their mouths
You can see 2 babies in the picture. I think no. 3 was in the bird bath. They discovered that on day 1 and have been in there several times already.
