disease identification help - cape gooseberry
« on: June 13, 2019, 10:42 »
Hi,
I got a plant mail order and have just removed a dying leaf.  I'm worried it has something nasty and might spread to my toms and potatoes.  Looking online it looks a bit like early blight.
Any ideas?

That’s interesting I hadn’t thought of cape gooseberry getting blight but they are the same family... I think it just looks like an ordinary leaf dying off, maybe not getting enough nutrients whilst packaged. Blight, in my experience has black/ dark splodges on leaves or stem. If you’re unsure can you nurture the plant a bit but away from tomatoes and potatoes, till you see if it gets better or worse?

currently on the naughty cill and I'm washing my eyes after looking at it!  I'll give it a bit of seaweed and nettle and see if it improves.
