Title: Grapefruit Wine
Post by: johnny5 on July 02, 2012, 19:56
Hi does anyone have a recipe for grapefruit wine? Either juice (carton) or fresh or even tinned. I have a recipe for apple juice but don't think the same sugar content would make a decent wine being that grapefruits are a bit more bitter     any ideas welcome

Why not try it and see what it's like? Sugar can always be added as you drink it if it's too tart Bottoms up!!!

Apparently WGJ + grapefruit "WOW type" is extremely acidic, from what I've read on line... though also I've heard that pink grapefruit may be OK, as it isn't as acidic as the normal white fruits.

You could always try a WOW type, nothing much to lose except a couple of £ and about 6 weeks lol :)

I use a receipe which says add up the sugar on the carton then deduct it from 1050 and that's how much sugar you need. I make the sugar amount as easy measure ie 758g becomes 750g.
