Title: Rats!
Post by: Sassy on August 14, 2010, 15:14
I have electric poultry netting with an 9" wide damp course under it. I have just noticed that there are rat runs under the damp proofing. As the area concerned falls between two runs I cannot use poison. Can anyone offer advice on how to use Fenn traps and what size to get?

Failing that a deceny air rifle and a good eye.
Works for me where the cats and dogs have failed.

I tried clay pigeon shooting and quickly came to the conclusion that it would be most unfair to try shooting anything that was alive!!!!!!!!!!!!! ::)

I have not seen the rats only the runs. Although I now have a suspicion that they may be mole runs. There are loads of hills under the damp proof course. I understand that they will get condensed moisture from working in this area especially with the very dry conditions earlier in the season. However, I don't wish to be complacent in case they are rat runs! It would be much easier if they put up a little sign!
