We will be getting 6 turkeys at 6wks old in the next week. OH is building a house, roughly 6 x 4, and he'll include a perch.

Is it okay to raise the house off the ground as he has done for our hens ?(kept in a different part of the garden).

If we clip their wings how high does their fence for the run need to be?

Do they go into the house themselves at dusk like the hens do?

whilst turkeys can perch most who have them for meat prefer them not to as this can mark their breast. Really the person to talk to is Grannie Annie she raises turkeys for Christmas
