Title: propagators are they worth it?
Post by: LILLILEAF on December 17, 2023, 16:19
I have never used one but are they worth the expense and do they improve your germination?.
If i decide to get one what to go for???.
The reason i ask is i have pepper seeds i want to start early as they take a long season to grow.

I inherited one, didn't make any difference.  My lounge window with the  wallpaper  paste table did a better job.   That was about 20  years ago , but the garden is getting away from us now.

I'd recommend a Garland GAL36FB Fab 4 Electric Heated Propagator, for about £28, on the windowledge. Cheapest I could see was on Amazon...but prices seem all over the place for these  ::) (careful u don't order the non-electric version by mistake, though)
That's what I started with many years ago, before I upgraded to the the Super 7 version.

I use mine on my windowledge for anything that needs a little heat to start with - tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and early bedding plants.
