Hi from Kent
« on: October 18, 2018, 11:40 »
Hi all,

Long time lurker, and thought I'd finally join the online community as the growing season draws to a close and I have a bit more time.

2018 was my first year with an allotment, which coincided with the birth of our second child. So needless to say I didn't get as much done as I'd planned. Still I had fun and managed to learn a lot - there's nothing like learning through experience.

Looking forward to speaking with people and getting a bit more organised for next year

Hello and welcome. I think you are in for a lot of fun with your little children and an allotment.

Me too, our other child is 18 months old and loves picking flowers from the garden so I'm hoping next year that both of them can enjoy the plot

Hello jeebus and welcome!
The second year with a plot is always good, as you already know so much about what works and what could be improved.

Great to have a space you can take your children too... maybe make them a little mud kitchen?

Thanks everyone for the welcomes.

I know my oldest will enjoy being at the plot with me next year as she loves to spend time in the garden getting up to mischief. A mud kitchen is a good idea.

Hiya, we're  just over in East Sussex, with a family plot too. 2 boys going on 3 and 5, took an overgrown plot on in May and the boys love it down there! Currently creating a paved family area with pallet fencing around; table chairs and a bbq... next summers going to be fab!!
