 thank you for your welcomes we are off to the allotment teatime to do our first bit of planting the kids have got salad and ive got potatoes ive been given seeding spuds with small roots growing from them do the roots go in facing down ? sorry about the daft questions but there will be plenty more, thanks

Thats what is called a chit and the chit goes up.  It really doesn't matter if you get it wrong as it will sort itself out as it grows.

Hi Darra,

Yes, the roots, chits, eyes all face upwards when you plant them. I know it seems strange but its true.
