Hello. Does anyone know if there's a good reason not to cut my Autumn Bliss raspberries back to the ground now instead of waiting until February? Thanks.

I can think of one good reason - I picked a punnet of raspberries this morning. Not the absolute best, but still feels a bit strange! Mind you I have also been picking tomatoes as well. Maybe I'm living in a particularly mild area.

Last few years I would have said yes it would be ok.
I'm still picking plenty of raspberries and picked a large bowl of them yesterday, there is no sign of them dying off yet.
Been an amazing year for them (even though they normally crop very well), daily larrge bowl pickings from early July.
I cut mine down early January and mulch them well with homemade compost.

Also still picking cucumbers and tomatoes in the greenhouse. Never done that before in November.

There are a some fruits on mine too but I'm leaving them, as we've got a good stock in the freezer, and the last of the blueberries, for the birds.

Thanks all for your comments. Mine were still fruiting well until a hard frost a couple of weeks ago. They still had leaves, but the flowers/berries all fell off.
I've cut them down and used it as an opportunity to weed and mulch.

I have always waited to cut mine down, I may have goven myself a reason to go down to the plot this weekend after all.
