I think the pitch and tar will probably kill any plants you put in there and bugs won’t like it either.

If you want to try with the plants, it would be ones like creeping Sedums sold as alpines, but I would try a couple first to see what happens.  They may just curl up and die.

6c forecast here, not warm but should be above anything that would cause damage. Hard to believe we've just 3-4 weeks away from the summer solstice.

MetO on youtube have just said it could go as low as 3C overnight  :ohmy: It's a bit late in the year for that  ::)

I very much hope they're wrong! I must remember to shut the g/house up - but what about all the half-hardy plants and hanging baskets, recently planted up. Good luck everybody!

154 today :ohmy: I’m getting my eye in for spotting them and checking a few more places plus I’m getting a few more small ones. Still plenty of bigger ones though. I think I’m gradually turning the tide and it will be interesting to see how number pan out over the next week.
