Think I have 2 boys and a girl!

My little ones are 4 weeks old now and I'm 90% sure that I have 2 boys and a girl! They are complete heinz 57's but gorgeous! What are my chances do you think of making a meal or 2 out of the boys? Anyone who eats their own, any tips?

We've eaten a couple of our Amberlink cockerels, taste fine, but not much meat on them, so better as a stew or curry rather than roasted Dan!

I agree with G.A,  not a lot of meat, feed them up on chicken rearers pellets to maximise the size.

Roughly how long does it take to get them to a decent weight? The neighbours are not going to put up with more than one cockerel crowing  :)

Do you know what crosses they are Dan?  You may be lucky and get some decent meat!  :)  We usually slaughter our hybrids cockerels once all the pullets have gone to their new homes, so between 15 and 18 weeks.  Don't leave it too long or the meat will be tough and take longer cooking.
