Poinsettia still looking good
« on: March 15, 2010, 09:37 »
I bought a pointsettia in Homebase in December and haven't fussed over it particularly but it is still looking as fabulous as the day I bought it.  I cut out an article a couple of months ago which said if you want to try getting it into flower next winter, in March you should let it gradually dry out until the leaves drop.  I think  I would rather enjoy the big splash of red on the coffee table now than take a chance on getting it back in colour later in the year.

Has anyone else got the same dilemma?

Mum got one to last for two years!
It seemed to thrive on neglect!  :)

I bought mine in early December & it is also still going strong, this is the second one that I have managed to keep going for several months, the other one was several years ago although I did not keep it after May.

That's good - so I've got another two months at least to enjoy it by which time the roses will be in bloom :)
