It's never ending.
« on: April 18, 2009, 14:43 »
Hi all.

Only been gardening for just over a year but it's never ending with the cycle of jobs to get things up & running let alone working on the plot.

Was hoping to get some golf in today but time flew by with all the potting on, hardening off etc etc.

Some sexy snaps of courgettes, turban & my 'giant' pumkin project.

Beans are doing well as well!!

Top tip for camping....don't go.

Well your snaps are obviously soooooo sexy that they've been censored  :(

Can only see little white squares with red crosses in  :D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Have you tried Turk's Turban?, i think it looks gorgeous but most write ups say the flavours not  too wonderful which would be a shame. :(
But everything looks nice and healthy there :)

Yes. We were given 1 last year. Made a great soup with pepper & cream + something else.

Thought we'd grow our own this year + they look rather cool.

There's no such thing as time off from February to June - of course by then you will either have a drought and be watering or you'll have weeds and wet weather and be weeding between the showers.

I went away last weekend and today was the first visit since the 5th. I couldn't believe my eyes ! Loads of nettles, bindweed etc..

Shouldn't have had all 4 days of the long weekend off!
first there is a mountain then there is no mountain then there is

How many of those are courgettes? Because if more than 1-3 you're nuts!

Also high five on the wilko's pots.

Know what you mean, Pompey.
I often think (dangerous, I know) that if any other field of human endeavour was as difficult and as riddled with problems as gardening then we would just pack up and leave it to the professionals. So why do we bother?

But, of course, I know the answer......the pleasure from picking and cooking just one cabbage from the garden yesterday was immense. It was even a cabbage that had "gone wrong" ie bolted, but I treated it like spring greens - lovely.

And seeing my containers full of salad leaves makes me eager for the summer months.
I started out with nothing.....and I've still got most of it.
