I have got home and the herd number has arrived today (it has taken two weeks!!!) so tomorrow I will be sending off for tags and then once they arrive I will tag and then call the abattoir. So guessing end of next week or week after.  Fingers crossed.

Fresh cabbage every day hung on string from the roof just slightly out of easy reach to add some variety.   ::)

 Would definitely be cheaper and easier to buy eggs from the supermarket instead of going to all the trouble of "converting" pasta and sweetcorn etc into home grown eggs!! That's not to mention the chook food and meal worms

Well yes it would.  But I know that my girls are happy, healthy and well nourished.   Also, I can cook an egg and know for certain it's completely fresh and not "supermarket fresh".  They can display eggs as fresh when they are three weeks old.

Warms your heart don't it ?

They ignore you because they haven't worked out you're edible yet

Don't go in smelling of corn. All they'll find is a pair of chewed laces
