We tried it with our table birds and you could tell a difference, didn't know it was bred into them. How clever!

Try sexing Polands! Its sooo hard. Sometimes I'm not sure about the Polands until they are 12 weeks old... you think it has a girl shaped crest and then out pop boy crest feathers! I have about 40 young Polands (between 6 and 8 weeks) at the moment and I'm fairly sure I can pick out 3 girls... the rest: who knows!?

If it helps at all my Boy copper black Marans developed combs much more quickly than the girls and I could sex with some confidence at 4 weeks. I have just bought some 6 weeks old cuckoo Marans from a breeder and in a bunch of 10 birds the 4 girls stood out because their combs were non-existant.

Is that straw your babies are on? Make sure it cannot tangle around and damage their little legs. Some folk reckon to bed chicks on shavings instead.

Is there any where online which tells you which breeds etc your can sex and birth and how and at what ages you can sex other types of breeds?

You can tell from about 8 weeks of age by the feathers on the back of the neck. Cockrels will have pointed feathers and be slightly longer, whilst hens will have rounder feathers. This method is not infalable but I have used it in the past and it was pretty accurate, once you are experienced.
