Finally got down the lottie,what with the bad weather recently i could not get down there to start .Woke this morning to beautifull sunshineand decided todays the day to start with the digging........

You must have a nice friable soil if you have only started digging. My allotment is very heavy clay so if we dont dig in autumn/winter to let the frost get at it, life would be very difficult for us. good luck

Wow dibberman - looks like you got lots of digging done. Went down to our allotment to dig, but found the roof had blown of the shed ( :evil: ), so ended up sorting that out instead. What are you planning on putting in your plot?
Where abouts in Northants are you? I lived on Oxfordshire borders for first 20 years of my life.

North northamptonshire,i only got the lottie 3 weeks ago.As much as i can grow

i,m also on heavt clay,but i only got the lottie 3 weeks ago,so i have had to dig it over to start breaking it.

Quite exciting starting on a new plot. I have one bed that had a bit too much clay in it and the lady at the garden centre gave me a bag of grit to help it along.
