Ryobi Expand-It pole pruner
« on: April 22, 2010, 20:37 »
I've just bought a Ryobi Expand-It pole pruner/chain saw attachment for my petrol strimmer, but it didn't come with a manual. Does anyone happen to have a copy? I've tried Ryobi's web site, but 90% of the time it's down and on the odd occasion I have managed to get on, I couldn't find a copy. The only thing I need to know is how much and what grade of oil to put in the reservoir??

If you mean the lube for the chain then most saws use chain oil which is sticky, and you fill it to the top.
with a chainsaw the chain  oil and petrol run out at the same time but with a pruner ,I would keep an eye on the oil level until you get used to how much it uses.

Hi, we have one of these. It came with some oil called premium bar and chain oil. The manual says 237cc to be used in the tank. If you pm your email address we can scan the pages and send them to you if you like.
The reward of a thing well done is to have done it....

Thanks for the replies. Thought that was probably the case, but wanted to check before I ended up doing something stupid!

And thanks for the offer Mosslane. Probably not worth your bother to scan it, but I'll keep your offer in mind in case I do experience any technical issues!

Most chain saw's will have a tank the size that equals the oil feed tank so you should not have to bother about checking the level's when you out of fuel there will be a little left in the tank.

Thanks
Kris
