I doubt that Tesco or Sainsbury's would sell any that were infected.

They would just be sold as prepared potatoes of some kind, where the scabbed skins were peeled off.

Yep I have bought seed pots with a lot of scab on.

Also one or two were mouldy, bright green stuff..

These were mail order from a big player.. I now don't buy unless I have checked them myself.
