Protecting Crops
« on: March 21, 2012, 15:36 »
Should I keep the fleece on my Caulis, Cabbage, etc for most of the year to protect again pests?  Was thinking of buying some soft play balls (seen it on an online video) & attaching them to canes so I can raise height of Fleece so not to squash the crops.

Cheers

Keep them covered and old tennis balls are cheaper.   ::)    Cheers,     Tony.

fleece rips very easily I found, that's why I got some netting with holes less than 7mm to keep the butterflies out.
I use debris netting nowadays as well.

Ice used canes and balls before moving upmarket to blue water pipe  :D

in the early days I used the small pots that bioactive yoghurt drinks come in, to top my canes :)

I was so tempted to say, didnt think yoghurt drinks had been around that long but I am sure a slap round the chops with a breeze block would head my way   :)
